  1. 06/20-06/22 2 nights. $63.00 per night plus taxes and fees.Amenities: Shuttle Fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry, high speed internet, golf nearby, kitchenette 95% recommended The only 3.5* listed on this board's hotel list are the Embassy Suites and the Hilton Suites(which doesn't exist anymore). However, the Hilton Garden Inn which is not listed in the hotel list meets this description as does the Courtyard by Marriott. The Courtyard is also not listed on the hotel list. The person I spoke to at the Garden Inn's front desk said that the Hilton Suites is now the Embassy Suites. According to Tripadvisor, the Embassy has a 69% recommended, the Courtyard 90%,and the Garden Inn 71%.The lastest ratings on Tripadvisor has the Embassy and Courtyard at 4 out of 5 and the Hilton at 3.5 out of 5. I'm leaning towards the Courtyard simply because of the 90% recommended. What do you think?
  2. I ended up booking directly with the hotel for $134.00 plus taxes per night which includes daily breakfast buffet for 2($20.00 each value). I emailed the hotel to see if they had any local room specials and since I am a Hilton Honors member(newbie within the last year),they upgraded us to a higher floor oceanfront(vs tree/jungle view) and waived the $14.00 a night parking fee. This property has no resort fees and has free wireless internet in the lobby and restaurant as well as free computers in the business center, although reports show these are extremely slow. I never did find the identity of the 3.5* above, but at this price with the free breakfast and fees waived,it made sense. Thanks for all your help and I will continue to use the links when I choose HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. PLEASE....Post your results here on this board accepted or not so that we all may benefit!
  3. I was beginning to think it was the Mariner as well except the Mariner has no on site restaurant or bar and it looks like these are condos as well. The mystery deepens!
  4. June 26th 4 nights...Check out June 30th 2 adults 1 child This hotel features the following amenities: Suite Beachfront Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High Speed Internet Tennis Nearby Kitchenette I thought this might be the Key Largo Grande(Hilton),but they have smoking rooms and no kitchenette. Marriott has smoke free rooms but no kitchenette. According to the hotel listings on this board, the Ocean Pointe Resort lists as a condo, doesn't list non smoking rooms and there is a condo that comes up too at the same price,so I think that is the Ocean Pointe. Any ideas?
  5. Just an update....I ended up booking the 4* Marco Beach Resort directly through the hotel. I saw a 48 hour special on a few websites for $111.00 a night for 06/22(Tuesday),Weds., Thursday, and Friday with an option for $125.00 for Saturday if I choose. Discounted price was $169.00 a night, non refundable. They matched the website price and I paid no extra fees, plus gave me the option to stay Sat night for the $125.00 that I wouldn't have received through the websites(not sure if I'm allowed to mention them here).Looks like a beautiful place....the room is a one bedroom suite with a small kitchenette and stove top. I was going to wait a bit and try to get the Hilton Resort for less than the $141.00 advertised rate, but no cooking facilities. There's just not much reported to this board about Marco. I now will try to find a more kid friendly resort on the east coast around the Fort Lauderdale area for the last 3 or 4 days of our vacation as we fly out of FLL.
  6. The only other amenity is SPA services.
  7. When I put 2 adults and 1 child,I get my results. When I put 2 adults only,I get your results. Sorry,I didn't mention that there are 3 of us!Didn't realize that it made that much of a difference!
  8. I just tried it again.... asked for Marco Island and this hotel/resort popped up.As long as I started the stay on 06/22 ,I got the same rate,$99.00 per night no matter when the check out date was...06/26,06/29,or 06/30. However,if I started the check in date on the 26th leaving the 29th or 30th,the hotel didn't show up! Strange. Started with Naples,FL instead of Marco Island....got same results. Anyway, thanks for your help....any idea now what hotel this is?
  9. We haven't fully decided on a resort or condo yet. Yes,this is the same dates as my other request....we might stay 4 nights and move on to another area for the remainder of our vacation or stay the whole time at Marco/ Naples. This 4* didn't show up on HOTWIRE when I posted my first request,so now I'm trying to figure out which one it is.Naples area shows up when requesting Marco Island.
  10. ID Help 4* Naples area 06/22-06/26 or 06/29 Haven't decided whether to stay 4 nights or 7,but the rate is the same...$99.00 per night. Ameneties are: 4* naples- -resort, near beach, nonsmoking, pool, restaurant, business center, golf, tennis Any ideas?
  11. Booked a full size for $11.95 day.... enterprices Fort Lauderdale Airport: HOTWIRE hot Rate:Price Per Day:$11.95 Rental days:9 SubTotal:$107.55 Tax recovery charges and fees:$90.18 Total Price:$197.73 Same time frame,an economy or compact was $8.95 day, mid size $10.95 day, and standard or full $11.95 day. Sorry, didn't get total prices for the other size cars. As usual, used HOTWIRE link provided here.
  12. Not really sure.....it is off season then in south Florida. I really would like a condo, but from what I'm seeing, most rent Sat. to Sat. and unfortuntely,we have Tuesday, the 22nd to Weds.30th to play with. I guess I would like to around $80.00 a night.....obviously the lower the better for a quality resort. Thanks for all your past and future help!
  13. Looking into Marco Island,Florida....check in 06/22/2010...check out either 06/29/ or 06/30/2010. So far,I've seen nothing on Hotwire and Priceline only shows Resorts as an option. I'm totally fine with a resort, but can anyone tell me which ones that they use? Not much to go on via the boards.
  14. Suite Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access
  15. I booked this hotel the day before arrival for $59.00 a night through HOTWIRE after reading the previous post.Same amenities etc. Great cocktail managers reception from 5:30 to 7:30 (no limit on drinks!!) and cooked to order breakfast in the morning included in the price...about $74.00 with all taxes and fees.Room was freshly remodeled as was the whole hotel. Being both Valentines and President's day weekend, place was packed.....lots(and I mean LOTS) of kids! As usual, used HOTWIRE link on this site to book.
  16. So,I'm confused. If I now want the Sheraton Suites,do I bid in the Columbus North area or the Worthington-Polaris-Westerville area????
  17. OOPS,my mistake! Hotwire doesn't list a 4* yet(at least that has been reported). Priceline list the Renaissance as a 4* and thats the one that constently shows up. However, the point is that it does have a pool.
  18. Just a note....the 4* is the Renaissance 99% of the time and it DOES have a pool. Its on the 5th floor and is rather nice. Why its not listed is beyond me. I have stayed here before and my 13 year old son loves it!
  19. This property was recently rebadged as a Howard Johnson. It was a Holiday Inn since it was built and features a beautiful indoor pool area/bar area....kinda like a HoliDome. Nice place....much better than any Howard Johnson that I have stayed at. They built a new large Holiday Inn Express on the other side of I-75 to replace the Holiday Inn. By the way,I live in Lima!
  20. Haven't seen this one before. I don't have a specific date when we would be staying...sometime this winter as a weekend getaway. I plugged in 12/30 for one night just to get an idea of prices. Amenities are: Condo, fully equipped kitchen, comp. breakfast, daily housekeeping,a/c,fitness center, pool and business center. Price was $134.00 night. Any ideas?
  21. Helped a friend get a room for 12/27/2009 for one night. Using this board as a guide, bid $35.00 and got it on the first try. Sheraton Suites 3.5*...$48.00 total with all taxes. Priceline must have broken these area off from Columbus North. There is no mention of this area in Betterbidding's hotel list, but rather lists this hotel and the other 3.5*,the Crown Plaza North, as a Columbus North hotel. Very nice hotel at a fantastic price!
  22. First bid 43.00 for 3.5*,rejected.Added 3* on rebid and raised price to $50.00(thinking I might get upgraded to 3.5*),but was accepted.....Radisson Gateway. That's OK,though because we are going to the Indians game and the Radisson is right around the corner from the stadium. I have bid on many rooms in downtown Cleveland, but this is the first time I have seen the Radisson come up! As always, used the link provided here.
  23. Actually, the only 2.5* listed in the Kings Island area is the Kings Island Resort and Convention Center (reception held here) and the best price I could find was $104.00 (HOTWIRE and hope it really was this hotel) or $139.00 directly on their website. The Marriott is 5 miles south...both hotels are directly off I-71. As I said, many hotels are sold out because of the holiday and proximty to the amusement park,so yeah I'm happy with this one.
  24. In town for wedding. Started bid at $40.00 for 3.5*,rejected.....raised bid to $50.00 and dropped to 3*,rejected.....raised bid to $60.00 and dropped to 2.5*,accepted and upgraded to 3.5 star. Marriott Northeast in Mason. Best price on their website was $112.00,a summer special at 20% off. Tough weekend because of holiday weekend and near Kings Island amusement park...some hotels sold out. As always, used PRICELINE link provided.
