  2. Hi: Could someone please help identify this for me? 3* Charleston Downtown Historic with fitness centre, restaurant, business centre. Trying to book for August 15-18, 2008 (3 nights). $119 per night for 2 adults and 2 children. Thank you so much!
  3. Bid date was July 26, 2008 for reservation August 11-13 @59. Description: Breakfast, fitness centre, pool, business centre, high speed internet connection "favourite choice" Booked for 2 adults and 2 children Sorry! Forgot, I booked using the Better Bidding HOTWIRE Link.
  4. Won the Crowne Plaza NY/La Guardia for $94 per night from Mar 22-25/08. Great savings! Shuttle, Restaurant, Fitness,Pool,Business,Laundry, Internet Booked on this site using the HOTWIRE link.
  5. This is our second win at this hotel for $45 per night this month. We stayed Dec 14-16, 2007 and had a great experience, so decided to try and win another stay at the Clarion. Our tennis tournament is being held in Tacoma instead of Federal Way, but because the Clarion was so comfortable and the staff so great, we decided we'd like to try for the Clarion and commute to Tacoma. The reservations lady was very gracious when I called to request two queen beds on the third floor. I am also very impressed with Priceline for always sending a follow up survey after each hotel visit I complete - they really seem to care.
  6. The Clarion Hotel is the former Best Western Federal Way Executel and is located next door to The Commons shopping mall. We stayed here Dec 14-16, 2007 and had a great experience. Rooms were spotlessly clean, well appointed, and spacious. The two queen beds were very comfortable and linens were new, crisp, and good quality - double sheeting. The bathroom was spacious and in very good condition and the thick new bath towels were in abundant supply. Lots of toiletries, coffee, and tea plus complimentary tea and coffee was served in the lobby all day. There isn't a restaurant on site but the hotel does offer an excellent breakfast buffet which is included in the room charge. Scrambled eggs, choice of juices, fresh fruit salad, waffle bar, sausages, toast, baked good, etc are all plentiful and nicely presented in a very pleasant dining room. There is a very comfortable common sitting room off the lobby for television viewing or relaxing if one's roomate is sleeping late. Staff at the hotel were warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. I was ready to drive to Tukwila to the Apple store to make a special purchase but the front desk staff advised the item could be purchased at an authorized Apple dealer only two blocks from the hotel, so that saved me 1.5 hours. Very comfortable and well equipped business center was also another great bonus. If we'd had time, we could have walked next door to the Bally's Fitness where Carion guests receive complimentary passes. I booked this hotel through Priceline and got an over 50% discount. Would I pay full price at this hotel if I couldn't get a Priceline deal - absolutely. The full price is good value with all the amenities the hotel has to offer.
  7. Bid $54 on 3* on December 5 for a Dec 14-16/07 booking which was rejected. On December 10/07, bid $45 on 2.5* (hoping for Marriott Courtyard) and won 3* Clarion which includes breakfast. I called the reservations clerk at the Clarion and she very graciously confirmed two queen beds for us. Listed price for the room on Priceline was $99 per night.
  8. I bid $70 on this hotel and we found our accomodation very pleasant. Once my bid was accepted, I called the hotel to request a room with two queen beds and my request was was very graciously granted. The Red Lion, a former Best Western, is located next to the I5 so there was a bit of freeway noise in the room (we turned the A/C on which covered up the traffic noise). If you stay on the other side of the hotel, you probably won't get as much noise. The hotel serves a complimentary continental breakfast from 6-9am, but we ended up eating at Denny's which is next door. There is a Subway and up market pizza place, Neo, across from the hotel, as well. Our room was very spacious, well decorated, in good condition, and very very clean. There is a laundry room down the hall for guests' use, an indoor swimming pool, a computer for guests just off the lobby, and plenty of free parking. Hotel staff were very friendly and pleasant. I don't think Tacoma is known for great hotels, the Red Lion was very pleasant and we would stay here again on our next trip to Tacoma (junior tennis tournaments). If we are unable to book through Priceline, we would probably pay full price for the Red Lion because we had a clean, quiet, and pleasant stay in a fairly convenient location (10-15 minutes from most of the places we went Bally's tennis and Tacoma Mall). October 12-14, 2007 @ $70 per night, 2.5*
  9. On October 9, 2007 I bid $70 (probably too much) on a 2.5*, after being turned down on a 3*, on a Tacoma Downtown hotel. Booking is for Oct 12-14, 2007 and is at the Red Lion, Tacoma. Priceline has the Red Lion listed for $109 per night, but I checked the Red Lion web this morning and the same room goes for $91 if you book on RL's web. I guess I should have waited longer and put in a lower bid? I was worried about leaving the reservation til the last minute so maybe better to be safer rather than sorrier. I'm fairly new to Priceline and HOTWIRE, but am very happy with my results so far and this forum is tremendous help.
  10. Hi: No there were other amenities that were not listed with the Hotwire page icons. There was a pool and small gym. Best to go the Tesoro Corporate web page for most complete details.
  11. The Extended Stay America is located close to the I5, and within 5 minutes of downtown Olympia. This basic, no frills hotel is very clean, quiet, and has well equipped kitchens. Front desk staff are friendly, pleasant, and eager to help. There is a 7/11 gas station and Jack in the Box next to the hotel. If booking, request a room away from the main entrance to the hotel. I was very pleased with my visit to this hotel and would stay here again.
  12. I bid $42 on Priceline for a one star hotel in Olympia, Washington for September 29-30, 2007 and received the Extended Stay America in Tumwater. Rate shown on the ESA web was $85.
  13. 3*** Amenities shown before purchase: All Inclusive Resort Oceanfront A la carte watersports F & B Included Evening Entertainment Daily Activities August 23-Sept 2, 2007
  14. Booked all-inclusive Tesoro Resort in Manzanillo using Hotwire August 2007. US$133 per night, all inclusive for two people. Great resort, all positive experience.
  15. I'm new to Better Bidding, but would like to add my Priceline experience. I bid $50 on a 2.5* Bellevue, Washington hotel in May 2007. I won a 3* Bellevue Hilton for my winning bid. Loved the hotel, great location, spacious room, everything perfect.
