  1. I've clicked on both of your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to take me to the hotel search functions. Hotwire currently shows two properties in Bilbao for a 1 night stay, 5/25-5/26/2018 (2 adults only): 5* Bilbao Area Free Internet Business center Children's activities Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Self-service laundry It also notes Accessible for Visually Impaired. It gets 4* from TripAdvisor based on 501-1000 reviews. It also notes "Book soon! The last person got the Melia Bilbao". However, the Melia Bilbao gets 4.5* on TripAdvisor based on 2500+ reviews. Further, there's a second property offered on Hotwire as follows for the same dates: 4* Bilbao Area Free Internet Fitness center Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Self-service laundry Spa services It gets 4.5* from TripAdvisor based on 1501-2000 reviews. It also notes "Book soon! The last person got the Hotel Ercilla". However, the Hotel Ercilla gets 3.5* on TripAdvisor based on 1000+ reviews. Thoughts on what either of these properties might be? Thank you as always! Off to click on your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links a few more times in gratitude.
  2. Using your Hotwire link, I booked this hotel. It was, as suspected, the Intercontinental New Orleans, which represents a new property for your Hotwire hotel list in this area. Looks like a great deal as the best available advance purchase (non refundable) rate on IHG's website for this property is $261/night. Rate per night $165.00 Subtotal $495.00 Tax recovery charges + fees $113.26 Discount -$10.00 Hotwire total $598.26 Thanks for your help!
  3. Hotwire is showing a very good price at $168 per night for a 4.5* with the following amenities: Complimentary Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Edited to add: clicking "see all" during the checkout process shows these additional amenities: Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower It shows discounted from $266, and Tripadvisor 4.5 out of 5.0. This amenity set does not seem to match Le Pavillon, the only reported 4.5* Hotwire win to date in this district. Based on the Hotwire "standard rate search" and comparing amenities and the Tripadvisor ratings, this sounds like it could be the Intercontinental? Appreciate your thoughts on which hotel this might be. Thanks!
  4. Thanks for the help - just posted a winning PRICELINE bid for this trip at an even better price!
  5. I saw a 4* on Hotwire in this zone for $82, and a 4* on Priceline Express for $85 (which was cheaper than Hotwire after the 5% coupon). So I started bidding on Priceline (using your link) at $65 and increased in $3 increments using free rebid zones. I was surprised to win it at $72 as I thought I would need to go a bit higher. Total with taxes = $174. Looks like a good value!
  6. Using your HOTWIRE link, I found the following offers for 5/2-14 through 5/4/14 (2 nights). Based on your Hotwire lists, do you believe the 4* is the Westin? What is the 3.5*? Thanks! 4* BWI (North and East) area: $82/night Free Parking Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access 3.5* BWI (North and East) area: $60/night Free Parking Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Golf Nearby In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Handicapped parking
  7. Using your HOTWIRE link, I just won the 4* Ciqala Luxury Suites, a new property to the board. I was fairly sure this would be the property I would get, as it indicated "The last person got the Ciqala Luxury Suites", and also because there are very few 4* properties in Condado with free parking AND free breakfast. Amenities listed: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Fitness Center Tripadvisor reviews are very good. I specifically wanted free parking and no resort fees, so I'm happy with this win. Best available transparent/cancellable rate is $160, so a decent savings. Thanks!
  8. Thanks, for now we have decided to book a transparent/cancellable rate at a nearby boutique hotel. We will post an update if we decide to HOTWIRE the hotel instead.
  9. Hello, When using your HOTWIRE link to search for a room for Feb 20-Feb 23 in San Francisco, in the Japantown/Civic Center North area, a 3.5* offer comes up for $120/night with the following amenities: Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower (This is the full long list of amenities after clicking "Book now" and "see more" on the trip summary). Additionally, it shows "Book soon! The last person got the Hotel Kabuki San Francisco". Based on your hotwire hotel list, the Hotel Kabuki seems like it would match these amenities except for the Pet Friendly part. What do you think? Thanks!
  10. Using your HOTWIRE link, we won the NH Frankfurt Airport with the same amenities listed above for $55, for 12/14-12/15 (1 night). Thank you for your help -- based on your correct guess, I was much more comfortable with this booking given this was one of the airport hotels to provide a free roundtrip airport shuttle (many of the others have charges) and had decent reviews, good enough for our 1 night stay. Thanks!
  11. Hmm. The BiddingHelper.com.com tool is helpful. That said, when using it and repeating my search, I still only see the 6 amenities I listed, now at $54, for the same dates and areas (FRA airport North) that I originally searched. I can't seem to match the additional amenities you're showing. Also, the hotel you guess would be outside the area of FRA airport North. Any ideas?
  12. Hello, Using your HOTWIRE link, was offered the hotel below. What do you think this hotel is? 12/14-12/15 (1 night) Frankfurt FRA Airport North area hotel 4* $55/night Free Internet Pet friendly Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Internet access 3.5 out of 5.0 on tripadvisor 90% recommended on hotwire reviews Thanks!
  13. Using your PRICELINE link, I won this property for $75. This is a rename of the former 3* Radisson Hotel so you may wish to note that on your Priceline Hotel list. I was already pretty sure this property was being offered as the Priceline Express deal for $81 per night, so had my bidding range set. I made the following unsuccessful bids: Three days ago: 3.5* from $65 to $75 using free rebid zones 3* from $65 up to $75 Today: 3.5* from $70 up to $85 3* started at $73, got a message to rebid for $14 more. Closed the browser, reclicked on your PRICELINE link, and rebid at $75 successfully. The reviews of the property are mixed on Tripadvisor, mostly due to age and distance from the airport (even though it claims to be an airport hotel). But it should suffice for a one night stay prior to an early flight out of YYC airport. Thanks!
  14. Thanks again. We ended up booking a transparent rate for the Banff Aspen Lodge for about 20% more... but we were willing to pay that premium for transparency. Thanks!!
  15. Appreciate your help to confirm which hotel you think this might be. Based on your Hotwire Hotel List and recent wins, I think this might be the Banff Aspen Lodge? Oct 11 to Oct 14, 2013 (3 nights) 2 people $85/night Short list of amenities: Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Laundry Facilities (self-service), Accessible path of travel Long list of amenities: same as short list There's wide variation in Tripadvisor reviews between many of the other 3* properties. With a relatively high level of confidence that this is the Aspen Lodge, I would probably book it for this price.
  16. Thanks for your help. We decided to stay with friends instead of getting a hotel for this stay. Thanks!
  17. 1 night, check in Aug 10 check out Aug 11. Cincinnati, OH. Zone = North Cincinnati, West Chester, Sharonville. Quoted rate = $58/night. Based on your hotel list, I think this might be the La Quinta Sharonville, but the last win on that one was 4 years ago. The other possibility from the list of existing wins is the Hamilton Hotel, which doesn't exist anymore; the property at that address appears to be the Fairfield Inn. Amenities (short list) = Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Pool(s) Amenities (long list) = Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  18. Using your PRICELINE link, won the 4* Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa (note, this is a new property not listed on your Priceline hotels list) for $160/night. I started bidding at $145/night, got the "increase your bid by $36 to $181" thing and increased by $5 using re-bids and waiting 24 hours. I also saw a Priceline Express deal for $170 that was almost certainly this Sedona Rouge property, so glad I could save $10/night. Rack rate appears to be $259. Decent reviews on Tripadvisor. This property does appear to have a $19/night resort fee charged at check out, which is the most common negative review comment. Thanks!
  19. We decided we wanted to avoid the resort fees associated with the 4* level hotels. Ended up booking a 3* in Scottsdale Old Town for 5/24-5/25 using your HOTWIRE link, $64/night ($80 after taxes). Amenities listed: Free Parking Free Breakfast Pool(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Based on your hotels list I thought this was definitely the Hyatt Place, but it was actually the Holiday Inn Express. This is a new hotel listing at the 3* level, so suggest you add to the Hotwire hotels list. Not as excited just due to the Holiday Inn name, but based on Tripadvisor reviews it should be fine. One issue -- this is the second or third time my experience with Hotwire itself hasn't been great -- the current going rate for a non-refundable reservation with this property is $73, so I effectively saved only $9 per night (vs the $18/night I would have saved if this were the Hyatt Place). Oh well. Thanks!
  20. Using your HOTWIRE link, I found two options we are considering: 5/25-5/27 4* Sedona, AZ area $166/night Free Parking Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Is there a chance this one is the Los Abrigados (you have listed as a 3.5*) that is now a 4*? If so, that would be disappointing since the Tripadvisor reviews for this property certainly don’t sound like 4* quality. 5/25-5/27 3* Sedona, AZ area CONDO $142/night 1-Bedroom Suite Fully Equipped Kitchen Washer & Dryer in Room Free Parking Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Any thoughts on either one? Thanks!
  21. Using your HOTWIRE link, I found: 5/24-5/25 4* Scottsdale, AZ area $71/night Free Parking Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Any thoughts on what hotel this could be? The alternative option for us for these dates is a $71/night quote on Hotwire for what looks to be the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Central Phoenix; while the price is comparable, this one appears to have an $18 resort fee, so that’s less attractive. On further investigation -- the details page for this Scottsdale area hotel also suggests there is a resort fee.
  22. Good news - enjoyed my stay this past weekend. The parking concern that I had is not an issue -- parking is free when you are staying at the hotel and NOT leaving your car to fly elsewhere. The hotel room was nice - no issues. The hotel is pretty large and therefore a bit of a maze to walk the halls to get from the lobby to my room, inevitably at the far end of the top floor from the elevators. I'd stay again.
  23. One add: Uh oh. One significant DOWNSIDE of this hotel is that it's a little TOO close to the airport. While most other hotels in the area have free parking, this hotel charges $30 for parking.
  24. Using your PRICELINE link and free rebid zones, 3.5* started bidding at $50 up to $66 with no acceptance 3* started bidding at $49 - declined (response: raise $11, will accept) Won 3* at $52. Four Points By Sheraton Bwi Airport Baltimore - Washington Airport (BWI) 7032 Elm Road, Baltimore, MD 21240 Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $52.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $104.00 Taxes: $14.22 Fees: $9.98 Total : $128.20 Great deal for a quick trip back to a city I used to live in for a quick weekend wedding! I need a rental car for this trip so will separately post when I win my car through either HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. Thanks Better Bidding!
  25. Using your PRICELINE link, I used a bunch of free rebids to start at $95 all the way up to $145 in $5 increments, trying to get a 5* hotel in the City Hall/Marina Bay area. Unfortunately all bids were rejected. I then started over with the Bugis district knowing I was likely to get the Intercontinental. We were working with a "backup" price point of $151/night for the Intercontinental through Hotwire opaque bidding (at least, we were 99% sure it was the Intercontinental based on the lack of amenities listing per prior Hotwire wins shared here). We won at USD140/night, so saved a little vs Hotwire. The non-refundable advanced purchase rate for the Intercontinental through its own website is about USD175 per night, so this is only a marginally good deal, but it IS cheaper than anything we found elsewhere online. Thanks!
