  1. Choose 3 1/2 stars, Area 5 - Tampa Airport West $50, no go, dropped to 3 stars and rebid $45 .. and it went thru first time I had tried over and over to book direct on priceline site for discounted Tampa/Ramada, 8 times today said rooms all full. (total $58.19). Just now did name your own price, with fees, same total amount .. but its a $149 a night hotel, not a $52 hotel. Never dreamed it would sail thru first try. I really was trying to book direct, and this was a accident. sorry for not using the link on your site. Hyatt Place Tampa Airport / Westshore Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $45.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $45.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $13.00 (USD) Total Room Cost: $58.00 (USD) Im staying this night because I was on a cruise when SW released the airfare and now it would cost me $310 vs. $129 to get home on 3/26, so I said ok, Ill fly out early the next morning and get a hotel. I might be a new convert to name your own price. Im still shocked and surprised it went thru (Iv bid before, but never had a bid accepted). This date seems to be very popular for spring break. Very pleased... and amazed my bid went thru for during spring break at this price.
  2. $53, 4/18/12, I went with the 3 1/2 stars, which I knew was Sheraton Suites Tampa Intl (it is the only nonsmoking 3 1/2 star hotel on all the sites I checked). Amenities as follows: Suite, Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access I was the one trying to identify the 3 star, that was $5 extra and if it was or was not the Hyatt Place Airport. I would have been so dissapointed, if I paid $5 extra and it was a hotel I didnt want, I went with the 3 1/2 star that was cheaper. Both hotels were the only two that came up on hotwire for my date that show airport shuttle, so the choice was between them and why I was using hotwire as other sites dont identify shuttles, so I wanted hotwire. Hotel Rate per night: $53.00 Nights: 1 Rooms: 1 Tax recovery charges & fees: $12.72 Subtotal: $65.72 Trip total: $65.72
  3. Since all I was asking was what this hotel is .. no thanks. I have used your links before but if no one can identify this hotel, I will call them and if they will tell me, Ill just book over the phone. The only help I wanted was if this is the Hyatt or not. The no smoking is why I think it might be. Your pinned list shows the Hyatt as the only 3 star with non smoking, shuttle etc. I guess no one can help identify this hotel, so Ill keep looking, but thanks. If I do book it and find out which hotel it is, Ill let you know.
  4. Since the hotel I would like to identify has exactly the same amenities, thats why I would like the OP to say if he decided to get this hotel or not. The "help" is that I just want to know what hotel the OP is looking at...so same topic to me. Why would I start a new thread to ask this OP if he found out what hotel he is looking at? If it is the Hyatt, then I think I might be interested in it as well. the fact notwithstanding my date is 4/18/12 .. same area and amenties come up as a $60 choice for me too.
  5. Hi, Im looking at the same hotel, for April 19, 2012, for $60, same amenities and I too thought it might be Hyatt Place. Im also looking at a 3 1/2 star, no breakfast but same area, for $55. Sheraton Suites? If you figure out the 3 star for sure please post your results. Im trying to decide between the two above.
  6. I stayed here (for more money thru HOTWIRE) and we loved the property. We were upgraded to the better building, which has internet in all the rooms. The other building you have to go to the breakfast room to get internet. Pretty good breakfast and nice service. I probably will not be back until August, but you make me want to use PRICELINE instead of HOTWIRE if you got this hotel. I read of someone who bid for a 2 star in Branson and reported they have Ramada hotel for $29 I believe was the price ..(for informational comparison purposes only reporting it). I would prefer Grand Oaks because of the location.
  7. My guess was Radisson. It does show a restaurant, pizza and bistro. Let me know what you get. Iv been looking too, hoping for some information to identify the choices.
  8. They more than meet my expectations. This is a great bargain to me. We got a free upgrade to building #1. They are putting in new carpet in building #2 which is where they usually put hotwire winning bids. So, we had a $89 a night room. We had our choice of floors to check in. They even gave us late check out when I had a show from 10 am to Noon the day we checked out. I think the listing on hotwire is pulled thru Sept 6th while they update building #2. The free breakfast was fine. I just had the toaster waffles, but my sister had the oatmeal one morning and yesterday she had the bisquits and gravy she said was good, just needed sausage lol. I forget what else we had. Good donuts. I had chocolate one day and blueberry the other, and they were fresh unlike one review I read that complained. My only tiny complaint was the pillows were not fluffy and the mattress too firm. I wanted to stay another night, but the hotel wanted $71.99 with AARP and repeat discount, so I came on home. Too bad this hotel didnt have a hotwire listing for last night due to the remolding or I wouldnt be home yet. We could walk to 4 of our shows, and the Branson mall is across the street with free entertainment, we watched two or three groups over there. I cant say enough good things about this pick.
  9. I got a 3 star in Lubbock TX which turned out to also be a La Quinta. I expected the Radisson, and was dissapointed too, as it didnt seem really a 3 star hotel, but we still had a nice stay, so I cant really complain, just surprised. I called hotwire and discussed the fact with them that I did not really think LaQuinta was a 3 star and they said in some locations it is. The def of a 3 star means it will have a restaurant on the site, they had a Dennys. Call and give them feedback on the rating like I did.
  10. Same amenities as the other thread I originally posted to showed. (looks like my post was moved) Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Laundry Facilities Golf Nearby ***Noting, if you are a smoker, this is a smoke free hotel, all rooms are non smoking. The pool(s) are one indoor for year round and one outdoor seasonal pool (5/1 - 9/30). Laundry is only in Bldg #2, which is where hotwire folks will be. Theaters are as close as 0.4 miles from this hotel, which is very close off the main strip of Branson theaters. I picked this hotel because its walking distance to a couple of the theaters I have booked.
  11. I booked using the above link, $33 a night for 2 * and also received Grand Oaks. Iv talked to the hotel regarding internet to confirm one of the two buildings has internet, the other doesnt. The building with the indoor pool has wifi in the rooms. Two pools, outdoor pool in one and indoor pool in the other building. My heart is always thudding in my stomach when I am not sure which hotel I will get and that its non cancellable. Trip advisor gives this hotel a 4.2 out of 5 rating and it looks to be in the middle of everything in Branson. I, also, called the hotel regarding internet, and was told that yes, if you bid thru hotwire, you will be in the building that does not have wifi in the rooms, but that you can connect in the breakfast room, so go ahead and bring my laptop if I wanted to use it. (that was my biggest fear about booking this hotel was being cut off from the internet for days, Im addicted). I wanted to confirm getting the same hotel (yea!!! great location) and that you could get on the internet, even though wifi is not listed as a amenity. Looks like a nice hotel to me, even though the stars are low, if anyone wants a review when I return, I can post that. I will be there 8/15 - 8/18
  12. Only two amenities showed, internet and pool (says may be seasonally open). As this property offers breakfast to it's guests, I really expected to get the Radisson. I have to say I was feeling a bit dissapointed to get La Quinta, as I did not think the amenities matched La Quinta. Regular price for seniors at La Quinta is $49.50, so $39 plus what I believe might be higher taxes/fees wasn't much of a deal imo. Oh well. Had I known I was going to get La Quinta I probably would not have gone thru hotwire at all. I apologize for not following directions on obtaining the property, but I will next time if I use hotwire again. This was my first actual hotwire purchase and I have mixed feelings about amentities not matching the hotel I actually received, but it's ok. These are the actual amenities of the La Quinta I got, and as you can see the La Quinta Civic Center Lubbock, TX has many things walking distance nearby and more than the two amenities listed. (i.e. amenities did not match what hotwire shows which is why I expected to get the Radisson). About This Hotel Free Bright Side Breakfast Free Wireless High-Speed Internet Access Free Local Calls Free Parking Outdoor Swimming Pool Pets Welcome Guest Room Features Free high-speed Internet access in all rooms Dataport Phones Cable Television Coffee Maker Hair Dryer Iron with Ironing Board Alarm Clock We are your gateway to several area attractions, and only a short walk to the "Ultimate Lubbock", The Depot District, Tour the Buddy Holly Center, etc.
  13. I booked Friday and Saturday, March 13 and March 14, 2009 as above. I looked for some help identifying the hotel but didn't see anything, so I'm posting what hotel I received thru HOTWIRE.
  14. I'd be interested in this rate for June 28 and June 29th. Expedia wants $299 on my dates ($29 more than booking directly with the hotel??!!) and the code doesnt work for 2 day stay. Those rates above sure sound good. Looks like I'm too far out from the dates to book thru Expedia and get decent rates, so I'll just keep an eye on things and hope the rate for this hotel goes down. (Ill be staying at this hotel with a group June 30th, so if I book another hotel for 2 days I'd have to transfer to this hotel to meet my group.). Where do I find the codes on Expedia to use? I put in your code and it told me to refer to the terms for the code, but I didn't know where to read the terms. Is there a code for a 2 day stay? I did try and click thru your links to book, but couldnt find a decent price. If I book thru Expedia, I will certainly come back and click thru your site.
  15. Reporting what did NOT work to save someone else some trouble. I went up to at least $42 in Biloxi and every surrounding area. By the time you add the fee on top and taxes I was within $5 of what it would cost to pick a room that I knew I liked the location and had breakfast included. Not only Biloxi, but I bid that high for Moss Point and Pascagoula at least $42 in every area. I even tried Hattiesburg. I tried $43 in some areas for ANY hotel, any star, even one star, anywhere in Biloxi, even near the airport which I really didnt want. The first week of October I was told was some Coastal (automobile?) Cruise week and why it was probably more difficult. I finally settled for what looks like a newly remoldeled Super 8 in Moss Point for $54.00 plus tax, again, by calling them directly. They offer a free breakfast. Maybe Priceline and hotwire don't work as well for really small towns who dont want to undersell their rooms. I tried every town from Pensacola (near I10) to Mobile and on thru lower Mississippi. If I cant shave off at least $5 a night off the total price, I decided it wasnt worth not dealing direct. This was my first ever time to bid on a hotel room on Priceline, gave it my best, but it was not to be. Maybe for a larger town it would work better.
  16. No luck bidding, Iv been raising my bid $2 each day by bidding $1 more on Ocean Springs/Biloxi and then adding another $1 adding in Biloxi Ocean area. Up to $37 plus $11 in taxes and fees. This morning there is a new promotion on purchasing hotels on Priceline's retail site that came up, $10 cash back after your stay on the cheaper dates and $20 cash back on the more expensive dates I thought Id mention in case anyone else is looking. (Their cheapest date is $69 for a 1 star Days Inn, Biloxi Beach). Their prices are still very high, in my opinion, compared to what you can get just driving thru. There are always many hotels with discount signs out when you drive thru. Its just that kind of area. Also, the 2 1/2 star on Priceline is no longer available to bid on, only 1 and 2 star choices left yesterday. I gave up and booked my first night direct, Best Western, Ocean Springs area, easy on/off I-10, 6 miles to the casinos. Their site had $59 for a suite, I called and they gave me $49 + $3.43 tax for my first night, 10/22, a Saturday, breakfast, refrig, micro, coffee etc and very good reviews (4.6 out of 5). They are at $65 for October, so I will keep looking and bidding for 10/1. I'll let you know if a bid goes thru and what I got. (yes, Im using your link). Thought Id post the new cash back Priceline promotion, maybe it would help someone else. This area could use some more posts and help. It's a fun area to stay. There are surprisingly few choices on either Priceline or Hotwire compared to how many hotels are in the area.
  17. I think I read Priceline adds approx $7 a night to the stay, so roughly about $39 or $40 is what I meant. I will be on the road, just need a clean place that is safe and near food after driving all day. Days Inn or something like that, so maybe Priceline isnt for me? It sounds like you think I shouldn't bother with Priceline, thanks for your input. Maybe Priceline works better if the hotel is at your destination so you can enjoy the hotel. Anyway thanks. Ill keep looking. Ill report back if I get a hotel thru one of your links so others can benefit. thanks again.
  18. I'm sure a two star would be fine. I dont have a limit (thats why I was asking how much lol), but I dont want to pay more than I could get by just driving thru and stopping when I see a sign. This might be a area where its better to just drive thru and stop when you see a sign on the highway? Do you think you could get a 2 star for less than $50 including taxes and fees. I was unable to find a list of winning bids for Biloxi. Yes, Ill start separate threads if I can book a hotel, thanks. One night is a Saturday and one a Monday and I was thinking the Saturday might be harder/more expensive to book in Biloxi? Would I do better by waiting until closer to the stay? Ill start making some bids and if I get one thru will post the winning bid. I tried $31 for 2 star and $32 for 2.5 star. First time on priceline so testing the waters. Newbie here.
  19. I'm driving to Florida from Dallas and Biloxi area is a nice mid point. I have seen signs driving thru posted on hotels around $35 - $45, but cant find those prices on either HOTWIRE or Princeline. Im reluctant to add in Gulf Port as once you get beyond the large hotels, some areas look iffy to me to walk around after dark. Id prefer the area up around I-10, Priceline calls North Biloxi/Ocean Springs, 2nd choice Biloxi Coast. Dates would be 9/22 and 10/1/07. Only 1 star, 2 stars and 2 1/2 stars available to bid on. So, 2 or 2 1/2 stars preferred. Am I being naive to think I can get one of these hotels can be had for the same as last minute walk ins? We wouldnt be there long enough that I want to spend a lot on the hotel. Just for one night each way. How much do you think I would have to bid to get at least 2 stars in one of these two areas? I looked back several months and the only post was several months ago about a failed bid for a 4 star in Biloxi.
