We are traveling to Vancouver for the first time. I am very happy with my win and would like to share it with you. I was looking for 2 nights hotel and was shocked at the nightly rates at the decent properties when booked directly. I naturally started exploring the opaque sites and this site has come through once again for us in doing the research. I started with Priceline and kept adding areas and increasing my bids, but had to abort when the price started going outside my budget, On Hotwire, I saw a 5* property for 2 nights at $135 per night and I got pretty excited about it. When I figured out on here that it is the Sutton, that hotel somehow did not appeal to me much. I really liked the Coal Harbour area, but could not justify blowing $200 in one night on it. Meanwhile I booked the Airport Westin on 2 separate reservations - one for 2 nights and the other for 1. I submitted BRG claims on both, and they both got approved separately - 2 nights rate to CAD 141 and the 1 night to 130. I decided to keep the 1 night reservation along with the 2,000 SPG points. Renewed my search on the opaques sites for the remaining night and came out empty handed once again on Priceline but found this incredible deal on Hotwire. I am not sure if it truly is incredible- but looking at the current rates, it seems like one to me. I sure am going to try and get them to give me an upgrade with my SPG status :) I have a question for you gurus: I see that the list of amenities says kitchenette - does that mean that my room will have one, or that there might be "some" rooms in this property with Kitchenettes? Started with 4* for $89 a night Asheville Downtown - Unsuccessful. Tried adding 1 area at a time and went as high as $95 - Unsuccessful. Added 3.5* for $79 a Asheville Downtown - Unsuccessful. Kept adding 1 area at a time and went as high as $88 - this bid was Successful. Knew it would be Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville. Hotel website has the rate of $116. Hotwire had 3.5* for $96. So, I was not too thrilled about having to go into high 80's for this hotel. All the prices are high for Biltmore Holiday lights evidently. Glad to get at least some money off. Used PRICELINE link.

Room was decent. We landed at around midnight, and called the hotel. They promptly sent the shuttle to pick us up. Quite pleased with the staff. They had no complimentary breakfast. However, there was a Subway at walking distance. We thought it was worth the money we spent.

Enjoyed our trip to Banff. We actually liked the hotel quite a lot. The room itself had a lot of character, and had a decent view. I was pumped up and ready to argue with them for the Breakfast passes which I assumed they won't give us since we booked on Priceline. However, they made no fuss about it and handed our passes without us even asking. The Breakfast area could use some help though. There was only 1 person cleaning the tables and such, and he got backed up, with dishes piling on the tables. Other than that snafu everything was above expectation.

Started with 3* for $32 only in Valley Forge, kept going up to $46, dropped to 2 1/2*, then added Malvern area, no luck so far. Dropped to 2* and dropped my bid to $35, and got this hotel immediately. Am happy :)
