  1. I decided to take this hotel after bidding in the same general area on priceline and being rejected at $43. I believe priceline rates this hotel at 2 1/2 *'s but thats okay with me. I checked the rate for that night and it's $133 so I feel I got a nice deal. The amenities listed for this Holiday Inn Express are the following;Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby.
  2. I started at $35 and got it at $38. Check-In Date: Saturday, October 13, 2007 Check-Out Date: Sunday, October 14, 2007 Hotel Name: Courtyard By Marriott Modesto 1720 Sisk Road Modesto, California 95350 209-577-3825
  3. I started at $35 and kept getting rejected till I worked my way up to $49. I hope this location is not too far from Highway 99. Check-In Date: Wednesday, October 17, 2007 Check-Out Date: Thursday, October 18, 2007 Hotel Name: Country Inn And Suites Fresno North 6065 North Thesta Avenue Fresno, California 93710 559-435-5838
  4. Thanks thereuare. I'll let you know if I go for it.
  5. I found this on hotwire for the dates 9/6/05 thru 9/8/05; Best Value 3* East of strip, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center , and golf nearby for $21 a night. Pretty cheap even for Vegas! Does anyone have an idea of what hotel this might be? Thanks
  6. I started with the Indio zone at $32, hoping to get Fantasy Springs which is an Indian casino resort. I then added Palm Springs- and was rejected at $37. I then added Indian Wells/Rancho Mirage and won the above hotel at $45. In the summer this area can get up to 115 degrees and the room rates drop drastically. I thought I would be able to get a better deal on priceline- but for $45 I can't really complain. I did see both the Fantasy Springs and Indian Wells resort for $59 on the web.
  7. The correct area is Torrance/Carson but this is a sub-section of the Long Beach zone. The hotel is called the Torrance/Palos Verdes Marriott Courtyard and is on Sepulveda Blvd in Torrance. Sorry for the confusion!
  8. After trying to get the Manhattan Beach Residence Inn and being rejected at $45, I went to the Torrance, Carson subsection of the Long Beach area and bid up to $50 for 3* and was rejected. I then bid $42 for 2.5* and also was rejected. I waited 72 hours and won the 2.5* Marriott Courtyard at $45.
  9. I also just recieved this hotel for $46 a night - 7/21/05 thru 7/24/05. Also disappointed somewhat in the price as it is a very slim savings of $6 a night from Orbitz, Expedia, and Travelocity. I had tried to bid for a 2 1/2 * on priceline and was rejected at $48. The icons today for the Ramada Inn were breakfast, pool and business center.
  10. Thank you thereuare. I appreciate your help. I checked this hotel out on trip advisor and there were many bad reviews. I don't think I will take a chance on it so I will wait the 72 hours and try again on Priceline.
  11. I was wondering if anyone had a clue what hotel this is. It came up on Hotwire at $65 and is described as a 'boutique' hotel with an airport shuttle, restaurant and fitness center. I know nothing about Dallas and I am doing this for a friend. She wanted to stay in a central area and we figured downtown would probably be best. I already tried bidding on Priceline for a 4* and went up to $67 and was rejected. I thought this sounded interesting. Anyone think they know what this hotel is? Thanks for any ideas you can give.
  12. I had been bidding every two weeks for about two months since I had so much time until the trip . This bid was as follows; $55, $59, $63, and I hit on $67.
  13. I got this hotel for my overnight stay to Disneyland. They are having a special, buy one day at Disneyland and get a free day at California Aventure.
  14. I did have a reservation thru Orbitz for an economy car at $17 but being as I am an 'ample' woman, I thought it would be better if the car had a little more room. I'm very happy with a mid size car.
  15. I had to use the three re-bids to get the hotel at this price. It seems as though the prices accepted thru priceline have gone up in Vancouver since I've stayed there four times over the last four years. I guess the prices in general have gone up as the nightly price on the Hyatt website for my dates are $200 and up. So the bottom line is I most certainly can't complain about my winning bid. :)
  16. chris26WI; Thank you for all your reviews and especially the great pictures. It gives me the visuals for my daydreams! :)
  17. I had started my bid at $50 and was rejected. At $55 I was told if I increase my bid by $15 I had a good chance of getting it. I increased my bid to $60 and that was rejected. I had run out of re-bids so I waited the 72 hours and started my bid at $65 which was immediately accepted.
  18. I am helping my neighbors with their trip to Canada and I had tried to bid $75 three days earlier and was rejected. Since they didn't have much time left and were willing to pay $120 for a Days Inn- I thought I'd try $95 and it worked. The hotel website shows the price to be just a little higher but Expedia, Orbitz and Travelocity all show over $150us. I'm very happy and all the reviews seem really positive.

  20. We came to spend the night to celebrate my husband's birthday. The Biltmore is a beautiful historic hotel located in the center of downtown L.A. The public rooms are very opulent and the architecture and attention to detail is just stunning. That being said, I was very underwhelmed with my stay at the Biltmore. There is no public parking anywhere nearby and the fee to park at the Biltmore is $22 per day with in and out privledges. Upon check in, we told the woman at the front desk it was my husband's birthday and asked if we could get a nice room or an upgrade. She requested my husband's ID, which I thought was strange- maybe to verify it really was his birthday. She told me she could give us a room that would include a free breakfast, free parking and free entry to the pool and health club - which is normally $7.00. She asked me how that sounded and I told her it sounded great. I asked her how much extra it would be and she told me $100!! Excuse me-I don't think so... I told her I'd take it for $20 or $40 but she told me that she couldn't do that. She gave me the keys to the room and off we went. When we opened the door to the room we couldn't believe the room she gave us. It had to be one of the smallest rooms I've ever seen in an American hotel. There was only one bed and it was a full size bed. I immediately called the front desk and asked for a larger room with a king or 2 doubles. They told me they would send the bell man up with keys to the new room. When the bellman came he commented that this was the smallest room in the hotel. We then went to see our new room. I would call it a standard size room with two full beds. The bathroom was very small and door was full of dust. Some of the fixtures in the room appeared to be original which added some charm, but overall the room was nothing special. There was no coffee maker and the TV was really small- I think it might have been a 19 inch. The Biltmore is a wonderful place to go for a wedding or business meeting but an overnight stay is nothing special.
  21. I had been looking all over the Southern California area for a one day getaway for my husband's birthday with no luck. I wanted by the ocean and tried in the La Jolla, Long Beach and Ventura areas ( both 3* and 4*stars) up to $65. This is prime vacation season and I was unsuccessful - so I decided to try Downtown L.A. I am really happy getting the Biltmore as it is one of the most beautiful and historic hotels in Los Angeles.
  22. hi thereuare! This is a totally great deal. We have recently been staying at the Orleans ,which is a coast hotel, and we love it. We have received rates as low as $42 so this would make it $21! You can't beat that.
