  1. The name of this hotel is actually Extended Stay America Lake Forest.
  2. Another one I don't see on the list. 8580 North Stanton Avenue Buena Park, CA 90620 This place wasn't so bad. The first time we stayed our room was a little shabby, but they were in the middle of a pretty significant remodel. The next time we were there the carpet was new and everything was looking a lot better.
  3. Here's another one I remember getting a while back that isn't on the list. This was one that made me make the rule to not bid 1* in this zone... You don't really want to stay here. 705 South Beach Blvd. Anaheim, CA 92804
  4. How much do you want to spend? I don't know what anybody can do on here to point you in the right direction for a deal, but I have been in a number of strip view rooms up high that didn't have all that spectacular a view. If somebody told me they were going to Vegas just once and wanted a room with a view, I would tell them to get into the Mandalay Bay with a high room facing north up the strip. The view from MIX on top of theHotel is surreal. And I have been to a party in a high level suite on the north east corner of the main tower that had an incredible view, too, though a little muted by the heavy tinting of the glass. It's a little trouble, but you could stay in two different places to save money or get a different perspective. One thing a lot of people don't realize is how great the view is of the strip when you get away from it a bit. It's not quite the family place, but the view from the top of the Palms back to the strip is awesome. I know the view from the top of the Rio is good, too, but I don't know what kind of view you would get from your room. People do win rooms at the Rio sometimes, I think. Even the view back to the strip from the high floors downtown can be nice. I think we won a room at Boulder Station years ago. They don't participate any more. We ended up on the top floor facing the strip and we loved it. It's further away, so it's not quite as in your face as the Palms, but it was very nice for 50 bucks or whatever we paid...
  5. If you only use the Kissimmee zone, chances are the hotel will be along the main drag there. We went there around 2001 and used priceline. The hotel we got was on the main drag very close to DWorld. It has since changed names, but is still a brand that probably participates with PL. edit- I looked at the zones, not sure if they are the same, but our hotel was in the disney word vicinity zone, not Kissimmee. Kissimmee is further away, though probably the bus route runs there should you end up there. The disney vicinity zone is pretty big, so you might not necessarily end up along that Irlo Bronson highway where the bus runs, I suppose. But if you do, you can keep the bus in mind. Anyhow, there is a local bus route that runs along the main strip there and drives straight into disney world. So you can get in and out very inexpensively if you land a hotel along that road, which is highly likely. It is good to be closer to the park, of course, as you don't have to sit through a lot of stops then. I think we were the last stop before the bus headed into the park, so it was very convenient. They may also offer a week pass. It is a large road and you had to take a bit of a walk to get out the the bus stop, and on the way back you got dropped off on the other side of the highway, so it was not as convenient as a shuttle that picks you up at the front desk, but it wasn't horrible, either. We were just in Kissimmee a couple of months ago and were at a place not far from where we were 7 years ago. It was a timeshare and did not offer a free shuttle to Univeral. There was a company that serviced the resort though. It assume they probably work with lots of places. For a fee, they take you to the park and pick you up. The cost of the shuttle wasn't a whole lot more than the cost to park your car at the parks. It was certainly less then the cost of: car rental, insurance, under 25 fee and parking at the park. Public transport options to Universal from Kissimmee are not good. If you are going to be staying that long and plan to go to all the different parts of Orlando and won't have a car, it might make sense to stay part of the time closer to disney world area where you are more likely to have shuttles available to Disney world and spend part of your trip more north where you will have better access to Universal and Sea World. Then you just have to get yourself from one hotel to the other at some point during the trip and you might have fewer and shorter and cheaper trips to the parks when you go. Also, if you go to Universal, definitely buy your tickets beforehand. The ones I got on their site for a week long two park pass, if it is still offered, were barely more than a one day pass at the ticket booth. Lots of people were buying their tickets at the booth and paying through the nose.
  6. 1 Mariano Ramirez Bages Condad San Juan, Puerto Rico 00907 From last year before using this site - guess I never posted it and it isn't on the list, so here it is...
  7. Saw this hotel didn't appear to be on the list. I was trying for the Hampton Inn a while back and this was brand new and we ended up there. It is west of the 15 at Russell road across the freeway from Mandalay Bay. It was close to 50 bucks a night, I think, on a weekend...
  8. I was looking at the new orleans zone map and the hotel list and it appears they may have merged some zones. I didn't see a business district zone. There was only a downtown zone.
  9. I know I stayed here once for business a while back. Shouldn't every Homestead and Extended Stay be on the list? 1830 Gateway Dr. San Mateo, CA 94404 This one isn't on the list either.
  10. Its not even called the days inn any more. The link for the hotel is below. They may not even participate any more. http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/pr...pertyCode=47120
  11. While I am sure you can find some timeshares to rent, that isn't what I meant. There is a site called WyndhamEscapes.com For $259 for a Friday or Saturday check in ($189 for other check in days) you get the following: YOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES: 3 nights hotel accommodations for two adults and up to two children (under age 18) at Harrah's Las Vegas Casino and Hotel, Bally's Las Vegas, Flamingo, The Westin Casuarina or Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel PLUS, your choice of one of the following: A coupon for $50 in gaming chips at Harrah's Las Vegas Casino and Hotel. Gaming coupon expires seven days after issue date and is non-transferrable. OR 2 adult tickets to an area show such as Vinnie Favorito or The Improv (retail value up to $99). Ticket vouchers are non-transferable. Improv voucher not valid for headliner shows. OR 2 adult tickets for Harrah's Buffet or Rio's Buffet (retail value up to $44). Ticket vouchers are non-trasferable. Gratuity not included. They ask what state you are from on the site and offers may vary according to that. If you only book it if you get a hotel on the strip, you are within your budget. Of course you have to go to one of their presentations. It think it is in Harrahs. They may not necessarily have room on the weekend you want, too, but I think they might. Like I have said before, their site has an affiliate program. If better bidding was part of that they could get $ for sending people to these things... Also, I don't think I saw Stratosphere on the north strip hotel list. The only 3 star win apparently was reported at Riviera. That would be a little closer to the action. Never stayed there, though - maybe not so desireable...
  12. I think you can get to Priceline car rentals through the link at the very bottom of thereuare's post above
  13. Yea, if they put a blindfold on you and put you in one of their rooms at a random hotel, you couldn't really know what state you are even in...:)
  14. There hasn't been a win reported there in a while, I don't think, but Treasure Island has come up as a 4 star win. You could bid 4 star on the north strip and only use free rebid zones and see what happens... It is fairly certain that if you end up winning within your budget, you will be on the strip... Looking at recent 4 star south strip wins, it appears that the Westin in being won about 25% of the time. So I wouldn't assume that is where you would end up. Certainly it is a possibility. With Planet Hollywood looking to fill rooms and the Monte Carlo burning up and making people hesitant to book there, you might have some opportunities... That particular weekend may be more likely to end up with a Westin win, though, I suppose. Also, Wyndham Vacation Resorts offers timeshare presentation based vacations. They book people into Imperial Palace and sometimes Harrah's which are not necessarily the greatest places but are on the strip and if you sacrifice 2 hours one day you might be able to get a great deal. They have an affiliate program that this site could take advantage of...
  15. I was taking a look at the Las Vegas hotel list and happened to notice that the New Frontier hotel was listed in the north strip zone. As that property was imploded in November, I thought I should report a change to star level 0 for that property... :)
  16. What is the final dollar amount you got to on your bidding and which zones were included? Did you get to 200 dollars while all the zones you are interested in were listed in the bid?
  17. I don't have an answer as to what the 4.5 star hotel listed is. The hotwire hotel list doesn't show any such thing. I thought I saw a 4 star option listed on hotwire for your date that looked a lot like the Hyatt you said you would like to stay at earlier, though.
  18. I am no Hotwire expert, but the 3.5 downtown looks a lot more like the Riverside or something other than Embassy. And the 3* looks like Hyatt place, not the Grande you want. While the Renaissance is listed on the Hotwire hotel list, it doesn't seem be be getting offered right now. Not sure what that might tell you about a potential Priceline bidding outcome. Maybe if you wait a little the Renaissance might show up on Hotwire? Would you even be happy with that hotel? Could the 4* in the beach zone be the hyatt you want?
  19. One thing you have to remember is that if you bid 3 stars, you could end up in a 4 star hotel or resort. The Renaissance hotel has been won in the downtown zone, sometimes for less than the 3* grand. The embassy suites hasn't been reported in a while. So there's a good chance you could get the Grand. Or the Renaissance. Maybe Embassy suites. You have to be prepared to end up in any 3* downtown hotel, though. There's a trade off for getting things half price...
  20. Those are the only two hotels with reported wins to this board in that zone and star level, so I suppose the chances are high that you might get one of them, but it is by no means guaranteed that you will. You could end up with a hotel that nobody has reported.
  21. bump looks like he combined your threads just have to look further down the list, maybe on the next page
  22. This is a hotel I stayed in once that doesn't appear to be on the hotel list. It is no longer on my priceline wins page, so I don't have all the information about the stay available to me. This hotel is a long way from the freeway, so it isn't very convenient. It is close to the toll road, though. There are a lot of corporate type businesses in the area, though, so if you need to be close to these, it is a good option.
  23. This hotel is not listed on the hotel list, but I know I have won it at least twice. I am pretty sure it was a 2 star. It is no longer on my priceline wins list on the PL website, so I have to guess about some of the info. The address of the hotel is: 201 N. Via Cortez Anaheim Hills, California 92807 It is right off the 91 freeway at Imperial Highway.
  24. This hotel does not appear to be on the list. It is a reservation from a year ago, so not sure about the star level as these have changed over time for this brand and Homestead. Be aware there are two Extended stays in this zone. This is 5 miles east of the other one. This one is technically in Yorba Linda. The other, closer to Disney, is in Anaheim. $46.42 total
