  1. Needed 2 rooms for these dates, but having no rebids decided to bid them seperately as it didn't matter if we got different hotels because not the same family. I didn't have any recent winning bids to go on, but an old one (on another site) was for $44, so I bid that the first time and got it. So on second room I bid $35, got rejected, then using a different credit card bid $40, and got accepted for same hotel. (I actually got a counter bid to add $9 on the $35 bid, but did not take it and instead came back with $40) So I got 2 rooms for 2 nights each. I used the savings barn link! By the way this hotel is not listed in the "pinned hotel list" so you may want to add it. One other note, I have been to this hotel before. It is a really nice 2*. I have been in 3*'s that were not as nice as the French Quarter Suites on the square. I was very surprised to see that it is only rated a 2*. If you are going to Memphis and need to be in the mid town or medical center area do not be afraid to bid this zone even though 2* is the highest star listed. I am a better bidding convert. I had been between this and another board, but due to the extreme hospitality over here, I am using it more now. When I asked for some bonus money back in April it was people from this board that were kind enough to share with me. This is the kind of people I like to exchange info with, and the moderator on here is top notch! Thanks better bidding. I see this board growing all the time.
  2. I too am interested in knowing what this property is. My dates are May 28th-June 1. and it is coming up for $117. Hey snoopyandpooh why don't you go for it and come back and tell us so we will know. (LOL) I have already booked the first portion of my trip May 24-28 through priceline and got the Gaylord Palms for $77 plus bonus money. I have still not booked the last 4 days. Anybody else out there have an ideas as to what this property is? The only property listed in the packages section that has high speed internet is Celebration Hotel, but it also has spa and boutique icons. The Hyatt has these same icons except in place of the high speed internet, there is a business center icon. Are these 2 icons ever used interchangably? I could have sworn when I first started checking this about a month ago the Hyatt was coming up for $143 a night. At least I had worked it out to be the Hyatt. Perhaps I didn't catch that the business and high speed internet icon were different. Or maybe it was the Hyatt and it is gone, and this is in it's place??? Beats the heck out of me.
  3. Thanks to the generosity of a fellow member of this board I was able to use bonus money and got the 3* World Gate Resort for $40 a night plus bonus money. I was bidding on 2 rooms for 4 nights so I think the $50 was diluted to about $6 a night, making it come to about $46 a night. Started at $30 plus bonus and worked my way up using free rebids. Dates are May 24-28. Listed rate through their own website for those dates is $89. Thank you to everyone who offerend me bonus money. I had more offers than I could use. If you are reading this tonight and need some bonus money email me and I'll tell you where you may be able to work out a deal on some. Thanks again to those who gave and offered me bonus money. As a side note, I realize I may have been able to beat this rate had I waited longer, but I was bidding this for my brother, and he just wanted something booked. He is definitely a type A personality, and can't relax tell it's all done.
  4. Thanks to the generosity of a fellow member of this board I was lucky enough to get the Gaylord Palms Resort for $77 plus bonus money. I was bidding on 2 rooms for 4 nights so I think the $50 was diluted to about $6 a night, making it come to about $83 a night. Started at $55 plus bonus and worked my way up using free rebids. Got rejected at $75, and had a feeling $77 might work as I have see this resort go for $83 and sure enough I got it. Dates are May 24-28. Listed rate through their own website for those dates is $199. Thank you to everyone who offerend me bonus money. I had more offers than I could use. If you are reading this tonight and need some bonus money email me and I'll tell you where you may be able to work out a deal on some. Thanks again to those who gave and offered me bonus money.
  5. Ok, I have read this whole thread 2 or 3 times now, and I think I get it all except this one part. Can someone clear this up for me, because I am thinking of taking a gamble in overbidding in Orlando Resort in hopes of getting the Gaylord Palms instead of the Wyndham. The Wyndham is going for the high $60 range and the Gaylord palms is coming up at $83-88. I do realize it is a gamble. However I don't understand the above quoted concept. In that scenario if the $75.00 gets rejected, why do you go straight up to $95.00. If the property is not available at the $75.00 rate, then how could you overbid on it (if it's not available, it's not available) so why would bidding $80.00 get you an overbid on it? Is the rationale for going straight to $95.00 based on seeing others post a win on that property for that price? I just don't have this worked out and would like to know if anyone can clear up this one point. Thank you for any help. I am new to this board, but understand the priceline concept as well as how to get free rebids.
  6. Thank you, and yes I will keep my post for resort seperately. I did see the hotwire property and figured it was probably the Doubletree as well, and I am planning on talking to him about that and find out if he would like to book that or just keep trying on priceline. There is still over a month and a half, so he may want me to just keep trying priceline for awhile. I will keep the board posted. Thank you very much for your help
  7. Bidding this trip for a friend. Started at $33, and worked up to $40 using my free rebids. Since trip is still a ways off will try again later, as they need 2 rooms, so they wanted to keep it at $40.00. Will not go down in star level, if it continues to fail I think they will raise their offer a little. I'll continue to post my attempts. When checking dates, it looks like there is plenty of availability for these days, and the rates ranged from a low of $86 at the Radisson Resort Parkway, to a high of $119 for the Doubletree. Would like to see some posting of others working for similar dates. I am working this trip for myself as well as brothers family. They want a 3 star but we want to go for the resort, so if you are bidding end of May early June dates, please post your results for us! I have not bid the resort yet, but will definitely post when I do.
