  1. Another trip to Disneyland.... . I have been working on this for a couple weeks. I started out at $55 and worked my way up to $95 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $90. My winning bid of $90.00, plus $20.69 for taxes and fees for a grand total of $115.69 The Marriott Suites doesn't have a hotel fee and they have free parking. If I had booked it through their web site it would have been $211.10. A $95.41 savings.!! That's a 45% savings!! Cool! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  2. We're doing another road trip and needed a room in the Ketchem (Sun Valley) Idaho. Ketchem was pretty booked up three months in advance so looking around we found Hailey just south of there. The Americinn Hotel was offered for $160 on PRICELINE. I went for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal and got it for $129. With fee and all we check out at $154.62. Not a bad savings. The amenities are; Free Internet Free Parking Pet Friendly Indoor Pool Business Center
  3. Needed a room in Tucson AZ for another road trip. I wanted a four-star hotel. I started out at $55 and worked my way up to $65 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $62. My winning bid of $65, plus all of the below fees brought me to $107.23. That includes $5.00 for the trip protection. If I had booked the room through their web site it would have cost me over $165.00. That makes this a very nice savings. Cool! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding for having this fine forum as a resource tool to find the best deal out there. You guys are the best! Keep up the good work!
  4. Great news..... after several email and two phone calls I did get a refund for the resort fees from PriceLine. It would be nice to let other know that these charges, when not listed, can be protested. Here is the final email I received from PriceLine; Dear Charles, I understand the inconvenience this has caused to you and am really sorry to know about it. A refund for 57.50 USD has been processed through our system for your reservation at the Doubletree By Hilton Golf Resort Palm Springs. To check the status of your refund, I suggest you to contact your bank directly to inquire about their processing time. I hope you found my reply helpful! Sincerely, (representative name) Customer Care
  5. Desert Trip was a great experience. We were so lucky to get the Doubletree and especially lucky to get the Express Deal for that price. The hotel was great and held the room until 2 AM for a late check in after the first night of the concert. Staff was good, room was clean and quiet .. everything we look for in a hotel. One disappointment .. whenever we book though PRICELINE they always tell you when there will be a mandatory resort fee that must be paid at the hotel. The PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal never listed a mandatory fee in the listing or on the receipt at time of payment. However, at checkout there was a $25 a night Resort fee. With taxes and fees it was an additional $57.50 for the two day stay. I sent an email to PRICELINE pointing this out. Again, thanks BetterBidding; I always use BetterBidding to get to the PRICELINE link.
  6. Just a quick follow up. We were traveling from El Paso to Los Angeles and spent a night at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. It is about ten minutes off the freeway when arriving and only five minutes when returning to the I-10. Well worth the minor detour; what a great hotel. The staff could not have been nicer, the rooms were large and comfortable. We hit the lounge and had a couple beers. Besides being reasonably priced, the lounge area was well appointed and comfortable. As far as I can tell, this hotel deserves it's 4 1/2 star rating.
  7. Needed a room in Tucson AZ for a road trip. I started out at $75 and worked my way up to $80 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $75. My winning bid of $80, plus $20.65 in taxes & fees plus $25.00 hotel fee for a total of $124.65. If I had booked the room through their web site it would have cost me over $250.00. That makes this over a 50 per cent savings. Cool! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding! Offer price:$80.00/night Adjusted room price (bid) with Hotel Fee Credit: $79.00/night Hotel fee:$25.00 Number of rooms:1 room Number of nights:1 night Room subtotal:$80.00 Taxes & fees:$20.65 Hotel fee credit:- $1.00 Total charged today:$99.65 Total cost: $124.65
  8. I was surprised that the hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS would come and go. I ended up booking the Hilton Hotel directly through their web site but I am guessing that the express deal was in fact the Hilton. Thanks for trying to assist me, As always I used BetterBidding for my searchs.
  9. It's back and it is now $125 a night. The only Amenity it shows is, "No Smoking Rooms/Facilities". Think it is the Hilton? That is a great price.
  10. This is an amazing deal. We are going to the "Desert Trip" concert in October. Rooms are rare, hard to find and if you do find one they are very expensive. With fees this is $386.39. That includes all fees and trip protection. The hotel's web site shows it as not having any rooms available. Even with out the special event in the area, this is a good deal. Due to the event, this is a killer deal. Amenities: Pet Friendly Outdoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Business Center As usual I used BetterBidding to get to the PRICELINE link.
  11. You're right, it no longer shows up. I'll keep checking and see if it comes back. Thanks.
  12. I believe that a 5 star hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS (5 Star Hotel in Munich Airport (MUC) Area for $148/night) is the Hilton Munich Airport. I am looking at one night on July 18. Any thoughts? As usual, I used BetterBidding for my searches and links to PRICELINE and HOTWIRE.
  13. We have stayed at the Wyndham Resort before while visiting Disneyland and enjoyed it. The shuttle to Disneyland is included in Wyndam's hotel fee. I started out at $52 and worked my way up to $70 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $65. My winning bid of $70, plus $15.62 in taxes & fees plus $19.51 hotel fee for a total of $105.13. If I had booked the room through the Wyndham web site it would have cost me $177.69. That makes this over a 40 per cent savings. Cool! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  14. Another great stay at the Red Lion. The staff is great! The room was clean and quiet; albeit smaller than the other two hotels. For the short walk to Disneyland it was well worth it. The parking is now $15 and good until midnight the day you check out. The desk clerk was nice enough to cut it to $7.00 for me because I am a Red Lion Hello Reward member. Every little bit helps. Thanks again BetterBidding!
  15. Of the three 3 1/2 star hotels near Disneyland that you can win bidding on Priceline (Red Lion, Marriott Suites and the Wyndham) the Red Lion Inn is our favorite. It is quiet, clean, the staff is pleasant and best of all it is within walking distance of Disneyland, I started out at $52 and worked my way up to $62 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $57. My winning bid of $62.00, plus $14.34 in taxes & fees plus $17.49 hotel fee for a total of $93.83. I will also get hit with a parking fee. I am not sure what parking will be but I noticed that the hotel fee has jumped $2.50 from $14.99 to $17.49. Not a bad deal at all. Very cool. As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  16. Another great stay at the Marriott Suites. Clean and quiet. I was hit with a $12.00 parking fee this time. I have never had to paid for parking there before. Also, you can pay $20 for a round trip for four to Disneyland using the Hotels shuttle. This time we used Lyft and paid $5.96 each way. Plus, there was no wait time going or coming from Disneyland.
  17. Another trip to Disneyland.... . I started out at $52 and worked my way up to $70 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $65. My winning bid of $70.00, plus $15.29 for taxes and fees for a grand total of $85.29 The Marriott Suites doesn't have a hotel fee and they have free parking. If I had booked it through their web site it would have been $139.33. A $54.04 savings. Cool! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  18. My daughter asked me to find her a hotel for a Disneyland in a week and a half. Short notice, but not as bad as last time. . I started out at $52 and worked my way up to $70 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $65. My winning bid of $70.00, plus $15.58 & $5.00 trip protection fee for a total of $90.58 The Marriott Suites doesn't have a hotel fee. If I had booked it through their web site it would have been $147.64. A $57 savings. Cool! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  19. My daughter asked me to find her a hotel for a Disneyland visit next week. Short notice. I checked the top three 3.5 star hotels and found that the Marriott Suites and Wyndham Resort were both full. Not a good sign. I checked the Red Lion and they had rooms available. With tax and fees the Red Lion site was quoting $192.82. I started out at $82 and worked my way up to $95 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $90. My winning bid of $95.00, plus $19.73 in taxes & fees plus $14.95 hotel fee for a total of $129.68. A $63.14 savings. Cool! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  20. We have stayed at the Wyndham Resort before while visiting Disneyland and enjoyed it. The shuttle to Disneyland is included in Wyndam's hotel fee. I started out at $52 and worked my way up to $82 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $80. My winning bid of $82, plus $17.45 in taxes & fees plus $18.32 hotel fee for a total of $116.45. As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  21. I assisted my daughter in bidding on a hotel for her family's visit to Disneyland. We wanted a 3 1/2 star hotel and started our bidding at $50. We used 8 bids & worked our way up to the winning bid of $75. Our last bid prior to the win was $70. She bought the $5.00 trip protection, so with fees, taxes and the hotel (Resort) fee the total cost is $111.86. A check of Wyndham's online site showed the same room would have been $166.97 if purchased there. A 33% saving is a nice thing! As always, I use BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  22. We are driving up to Idaho for a White Water Rafting trip and decided to take a different route this time. We will be staying one night in Reno, Nevada. I took a look at prior wins on BetterBidding and elected to start low for a four star hotel; $30! Well what do you know, I got one on my first try. With taxes & fees ($8.67) and the hotel fee ($11.30) I am at $49.97 out the door. Not bad for a four star hotel! As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  23. We have stayed at the top 3 1/2 star hotels while visiting Disneyland; the Wyndham Resort, the Marriott Suites and the Red Lion. I don't believe you can go wrong with any of them. The Red Lion is one of our favorites only because it is in walking distance to Disneyland. With the Marriott Suites and Wyndham you have to take a shuttle. The shuttle is included in Wyndam's hotel fee whereas you have to pay at the Marriott Suite for the shuttle. I started out at $52 and worked my way up to $65 before my bid was accepted. The last bid before the winning one was $62. I have been checking on a regular basis for a good deal on a room and hit it today. I noticed that Priceline is now including the resort (hotel) fee in the total cost and advising you that this fee will be collected by the hotel at check out. I am guessing some Priceline customers have been upset getting surprised with these fees at checkout. A good call on Pricelines part. My winning bid of $65, plus $14.95 in taxes & fees plus $16.00 hotel fee for a total of $95.95. Had I booked it through the hotels web site the total cost would have been $166.97 That's a $71.02 saving or 42% off. Great deal. As usual, I used BetterBidding's site for the PRICELINE links to start my purchase and searches. Many thanks to BetterBidding!
  24. We just completed our stay at the Anaheim Marriott. Very nice hotel and worthy of it's four star rating. Very clean and quiet. It is also in walking distance to Disneyland. It is about a half mile and pushing two stroller it is an under 15 minute walk. No resort fee but there is a $25 fee for parking. We have stayed, courtesy of wins on Price.Line through Better Bidding, at the Wyndham, the Red Lion Inn and the Marriott Suite while visiting Disneyland. All three of these hotels are 3 1/2 star hotels. The Anaheim Marriott was $15 to $20 more for the extra star. Was it worth it? Perhaps. I find on our Disneyland trips we are looking for a bed, bathroom at a clean and quiet hotel that is located close to Disneyland. The Red Lion and Anaheim Marriott are both in walking distance whereas you have to take a shuttle if staying at the Marriott Suites or Wyndham. The Red Lion had a resort fee of $10.75 with $1.82 tax and a guest parting fee of $14.00. That was an additional $26.58 in cost. The Marriott Suites did not have any additional fees but there was a $20 fee for the shuttle for a family of four. The Wyndham had a $14 resort fee that covered free transportation to and from Disneyland and in room internet. I honestly believe you can't go wrong with any of these four hotels. If I had my choice, I would take the Red Lion or the Anaheim Marriott just for the convenience of walking to Disneyland. Our next trip is at the end of Feburary 2015 for a granddaughter's birthday. We will use Price.Line through Better Bidding again for our stay. Many thanks for a great site!
  25. That is a nice hotel for a great price. You will get hit with an additional mandatory "Resort Fee" of $14 per day. It gives you free internet and free transportation to Disneyland. There is plenty of free parking behind the hotel.
