  1. Yes it was my first bid for the 3* single night although I exhausted most possibilities on the 2 night bid attempts using 4* free rebids and had attempted 4* single night bids for both nights so I had a very clear idea that 1st September was the night with availability issues (hardly surprising as it's labor day weekend). It took 6 failed bids (in one day) before I secured both nights so free rebidding was essential . Research indicated that I got the lowest price achieved recently at both hotels. Now I just have to achieve the same magic for EWR before and after which is proving a challenge but that's a story for another thread :)
  2. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $40.00 Subtotal: $40.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $13.43 Total Charges*: $53.43 1st bid Booked via PRICELINE link at SavingsBarn.com
  3. Wanted 2 nights 4* but ended up splitting my stay (see other post for Cleveland Hyatt Arcade)) as 1st September is not coming up even at $75 bid (1 or 2 nights). Happy with the result as both hotels have solid reviews Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.80 Total Charges*: $76.80 Booked through SavingsBarn PRICELINE link
  4. That'll do nicely....time for a couple of drinkies after the show :) Thank you Priceline however doesn't want to play at this point so may hop over to Hotwire (using the links of course)
  5. I'm attending a show at BB Kings on W 42nd and then flying out early the following morning from EWR It struck me that with a very early check in it may pay to travel out to EWR after the show as the Port Authority is so close but is the shuttle 24 hour or does it stop at some point ? It seems this would save me money by staying at EWR v MTW but only if the shuttle runs late. (I'm familiar with the Port Authority and realise it isn't the nicest of enviroments late at night btw)
  6. It varies from airline to airline. American I too have found very good. We volunteered for a bump from New York to London-We were offered $400 each in vouchers and accomadated on the next flight 2 hours later. I had no problem using the vouchers for our next trip and in fact as I used them in conjunction with some miles ended up flying for no cash cost from London to Vegas return. Some carriers offer a free flight rather than a dollar value amount. I've heard these are more difficult to redeem.
