  1. Started at $48, $63, $73, $78, $83. I guess I have to press up for 'in season'. Traveled in May a couple years ago for quite favorable rates
  2. Started $86, 4 addition re-bids 3 in $20 increments, last increment $15. Last bid $161. Not sure what hotel, maybe LaPlaya Resort??
  3. Oops, forgot to post the amenities; Usually I use PL Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry, High-speed Internet Access, Spa Services
  4. James Hotel - I know I booked early but like the hotel & location. Just need my BoSox Tix from eBay!
  5. Started at $71, increased by $5 increments. Westin Horton which I haven't seen come up a lot. Have not been to SD in 25 years, seems like a good location and a decent property. Westin web site $249/night Your Offer Price: $101.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $303.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $45.01 Total Charges: $348.01
  6. Wanted 3* and unsucessful at $43 & $48. Waited 72 hours first bid 2* $43 accepted. Probably could have done a little better but time was running short and not a lot of re-bid options. $43 plus taxes fees $54.19. Hotel web site is $75 plus tax.
  7. Hi, unfortunately I have to use room trade for this trip. Thanks for your help.
  8. Thanks & I will let you know how I make out. I did see the Resort and undersatnd the potential for upgrade but thanks for pointing that out. I am sure some people have been unpleasantly surprised. I just learned my boss Mr. Cheap-O has barter in SAT and I may be forced to stay at LaQuinta ...oh the horror!
  9. After a travel hiatus I am back. Looking for a little guidance 11/1 - 11/3. My show is at the Westin so really prefer Riverfront. I see I have a number of re-bids so my thinking was to start at $60 and increase in $5 increments. What do you think? Hotwire looks to have the Wyndham @ $82 and that is always an option. As always I will post my results. Thanks for your help.
  10. I did not really price them out, looked at winning threads and went from there. Wrongly assumed 3* rates would be in the $150 range, Sheraton is $244, Holiday Inn $165, Hilton around $200. Ended up grabbing a Ramada for $78, thought for sure I would do well with 2 - 2 1/2*
  11. Still no luck, went for a 2* - REJECTED $41 - So. Portland - Scarborough $46 - Portland $51 - Airport $57 - Westbrook I guess rooms are easier in the big cities where there is more competition All done with this as I need to travel Thurs. Even though it doesn't sit well I guess I will be paying retail.
  12. Still a loser, went for a 2 1/2* $49 Portland - Scarborough $54 Portland ( no 2 1/2's here) $62 Westbrook (1* zone) $67 Airpport (also has a 2 1/2) One rejection after another....1st time I could not score on PL. I guess Tom Bodatt will the light on for me!
  13. Rejected again 72 hr grace period re-bid: Who would have thought I would have had this much of a hard time in Portland for 1 night? bid 3* South Portland- Scarborough $62 Added Portland (also has 3*) $67 Added Zone $77 - still no luck
  14. 1st bid $52 - Portland 2nd bid $57 added zone rejected 3rd bid $57 Added South Portland- Scarborough (which also has 3* rejected)
  15. If the concert is at the Fleet Center ( the old Boston Garden) I would try and stay downtown as most of the hotels would be in walking distance, T or short cab. PL has the area listed as Downtown - Charlestown. I know all the 4* are downtown and I am not sure if what properties are in Charlestown which would not be ideal. The Copley area is considered more upscale with the trendy shops on Newbury St., though there are many nice bars restaurants downtown. The Fleet pavillion is near the World Trade but there is really nothing down there in the way of restaurants or shops. The cab ride from downtown is quick and certainly under $10.
  16. 1 st bid $77 Accepted. 1 night 8/25 Probably could have saved a couple of bucks starting lower but preferred downtown vs copley. Saved $100 so I am happy
  17. My boss Mr. Cheapo wanted me to double up so I got my own room and have to pay out of pocket. Hopefully not too far from the Sheraton. Here are my details. Note, this is a NEW property for the list. Nashville (Airport/BNA) Embassy Suites Hotel Nashville-Airport First bid, $31 - increased in $3 increments and 2nd last bid at $41 Your Offer Price: $41.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $82.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $18.88 Total Charges: $100.88
  18. Hi again, My boss really wants me at the show hotel (Sheraton Music City). I see the the majority of wins are for the Sheraton Music City, however there is an occasional Holiday Inn win in this zone. What do think, just belly up and lock in the Sheraton or risk a win at the Holiday Inn?
  19. Thanks for the help. I will post results once my plans are firm.
  20. On the road again. From other threads I see wins from $31 - $38 for either the Sheraton Music City and Holiday Inn. On their respective web sites the Sheraton in $158 though with my small trade show I can get a rate of $119. Conversely the Holiday Inn is $79 night. Big disparity for what are 2 similar star ratings. I see I have 4 bids, so I figured I would start at $30 and go up in $3 or $5 increments. My hope is for the Sheraton where my show is. I see Hotwire has a 3* for $46 but no idea what the property is? As always I will post my results when I finalize plans the end of the week.
  21. I'll check it out. I can feel my arteries clogging as I type. 2 people, air, 4* hotel, a little $300, how can you beat that! Thanks for your help.
  22. We have Cheese steak! Started at $40, added zones and increased with $5.00 increments. Bid accepted @ $65 per night ( as a note I booked 2 rooms) Hyatt Penn's Landing Hyatt.com lists $146 per night so all in all not too shabby and looks like s decent property.
  23. Hi, after a hiatus I am back, could not resist the $29 airfare from PVD. What do you think? Figure I would start at $40 and up in $5 increments as it looks as though I have 7 bids. Hotwire has what looks to be Hyatt @ Penn's for $109. Would like to see if I could score in the $60 - $70 range. Never been to Phillie so I am guessing downtown/waterfront would be a good jumping off point. cheers
