  1. Hi Thereuare. We land Friday 4/17 at 130. Just wondering if it's cheaper/more convenient to use one of the private car services to hotel's in Midtown. The rates seem about similar. carmellimo quoted me 28 + tolls + tip. Sara
  2. Anyone have any experience with the private metro/sedan cars? Like carmellimo.com, dial7.com? Carmellimo.com is quoting me $28 + tolls/tip to take directly to the hotel. Seems reasonable, can pay ahead and *know* what to budget. Seems almost too good to be true.

Used the PRICELINE link. Great deal!
  4. Check-In Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2009 Check-Out Date: Sunday, June 21, 2009 Hotel Name: Hyatt At Fishermans Wharf 555 North Point Street San Francisco, California 94133 415-563-1234 Summary of Charges Your Offer Price: $82.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $328.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $61.13 Total Charges*: $389.13 I used the PRICELINE link this time! Been bidding for a few days. Always in the Fisherman's Wharf area only. Started at $65 and creeped up by $2 with the 3 rebid zones. Very happy with the win! :)
  5. I will be visiting SF in June. We will be staying in the Fisherman's Wharf area (I'll post as soon as I get a hotel!). Is it necessary to have a car in SF? I'm perfectly happy to figure out the BART system to get around. The one thing I *would* want to do is to visit wine country 1 or 2 days, which I imagine requires a car. Is it possible to rent a car in the city for a day (via the hotel)? How best to get from airport to hotel? Any info would be be greatly appreciated! Sara
  6. FYI, on the Maine Hotel Priceline list, I noticed you updated the Hilton Garden Inn to 3*. You might want to specify that this is the Hilton Garden Inn *Airport* location. There is a Hilton Garden Inn in the Old Port that is much more centrally located, nicer AND more expensive. People very well could bid and then be surprised to find themselves way out at the airport. Sara
  7. Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport 145 Jetport Boulevard Portland, ME 04102 207-828-1117 Check-In: Friday, January 23, 2009-03:00 PM Check-Out: Monday, January 26, 2009-11:00 AM summary of charges Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $55.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $165.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $22.45 (USD) Total Room Cost: $187.45 (USD) I was surprised by this! I didn't notice that Portland/Portland West now included the old S. Portland/Airport! And surprised that the Hilton Garden Inn was now 3*, when before it was 2.5*. I was trying for Eastland or the Clarion and bid for 3* only...Is this because of the new 3.5*? Also, this was my first bid! I thought I was lowballing it as most recent "wins" were at a minimum of $58. Still, a pretty good price. Just wish it wasn't at the airport!
  8. Hotel Name: Clarion Hotel Portland 1230 Congress Street Portland, Maine 04102 207-774-5611 Billing Date: May 7, 2008 Your Offer Price: $100.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $100.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $16.21 Total Charges*: $116.21 *Prices are in US dollars. I've been bidding for some time now, always in 3* Portland West and increasing by $2/day. I'm unhappy with this room--I was trying for Eastland. This room should be listed in the South Portland-Airport area--so far away from the Old Port!
  9. Miss Poofy-- I am originally from Portland and this is where we always stay. Quick walk (10 minutes) to the Old Port. Great lounge with a great view of the city. Enjoy your stay!

  13. Planning on visiting NYC 8/26-8/30 and only want to stay in MTW. Prefer 4*, happy with 3* would like to have a max bid $150. Do not want to split stay. Is this reasonable or hopeless? I think I have 2- 4* rebids by adding UES and UWS. How do I incorporate 3* hotels in my bidding strategy? Any advise is greatly appreciated. Sara
