  1. Booking for ahead :-) Thought this was for the Hilton Garden Inn because of the pool. Would have been a better deal. Amenities listed when booking: Free internet, indoor pool, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, self-service laundry, bed choice available. Amenities in my confirmation email: Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower total of 105 with taxes. Still about $30 off. Sara
  2. Not sure if you wanted me to report back here or with a new thread. Thanks for the great advice. I'm not sure I would've considered the 2.5* hotels without your advice above. Priceline Express Deal, 2.5* Grand Rapids (Downtown), $82/night. Country Inn and Suites Grand Rapids East. Amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet (in Room) Free Parking Indoor Pool Spa Non-Smoking Gym Handicap Accessible Business Center I got a 10% of sale e-mail today, so all in all I saved abut $40 a night! (I also bid up to $71/night Grand Rapids 2.5* with no bite...Almost worked out to the same price). Thanks again for your help. (And I used the PRICELINE link, as always) Sara
  3. Hmm, I bet it's probably the Holiday Inn Grand Rapids downtown. It's also listed as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. About a $55 savings over rack price. I'll keep my eye on it and report back. I will surely used the Priceline or Hotwire links.
  4. Hi, sorry. Looking in Downtown Grand Rapids, default room. Here's the full amenities: FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  5. Looking for 3/26-3/28. 3* for 110/night. I'm not sure if it's "worth" the price. Free internet, free parking. business center, fitness center, outdoor pool, pool (s), pets, restaurant, smoke free. Any ideas? Sara
  6. I thought I would just check and see if anything would bite today. Plan was to bid up to $100. I bid 4* and higher in Galleria and Downtown, starting at $50/night. There are a LOT of free re-bid zones in Houston. Pretty happy with the deal--this is 50% off! Sara
  7. Internet, Shuttle, restaurant, golf, pet friendly, smoke free, business center, boutique, fitness, internet. The price has never dropped for these dates, and runs about the same any other weekend I have checked. I bid up to $125 on Priceline with no bite. This same hotel was listed at $133 on PRICELINE EXPRESS. Still about 21% savings over the non-refundable rate on the hotel web site! Good deal! Sara
  8. I have been bidding in this zone for about 3 months, using rebid zone up to $90 ($106 with taxes). I had a cancelable reservation at the Merry Manor for $106, which is 2.5* in PL. I had a coupon for 5% Express Deals (SUMMER14) so total was for $116. Pretty happy with the deal. Amenities: Pool Pet Fitness Park Business Sara
  9. We are going to the Western and Southern Open and plans were set so I started bidding on Priceline every week or so. $400 was my max and I had already book a refundable room at the same hotel for $570. (This was actually a pretty cheap rate for this hotel--it seems to go between $159/night-250/night.) I had been bidding $80-$110, going up in $5 increments and using free rebid zones. Today I saw a nice deal on Hotwire that seemed to be this hotel for $120. I used the PRICELINE link to go over and start bidding on Priceline, using the Hotwire $120 as a guide. $110 was rejected, and $112 was accepted. Pleased with the win --$170 savings, $56/night off. :D Room Cost $112.00 /per room night Nights 3 Taxes and Fees $64.68 Total Charges $400.68 And I used the PRICELINE link each time I bid! Sara
  10. Done. But I think I could only see the above when I actually booked the room... Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  11. Well, I ended up booking and it was The Colonnade! :D $205/night, same amenities as above. I was a little nervous it was the Sheraton, which a little too far from the conference for me. The big ID between the two seems to be the "free internet" and possibly the lack of "indoor pool." (I'll be sure to sign up for the hotel membership to get the "free" internet.) Lastly, I've had more luck with HOTWIRE vs PRICELINE when booking >4 months out from a trip lately. Often with work I need to book the hotel when I book airlines tickets. I bid quite high up on Priceline this trip with no luck. I used the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links every time. Thanks again for all the info. Sara
  12. A pretty good base rate of $200/night for a 4* in Back Bay. Amenities: Free Internet Pet friendly Smoke Free Pool restaurant Business Center Accessible for the blind. Maybe the the Colonnade? I have a conference at Fairmont Copley which is very $$$$. Just trying to get a place within walking distance. Sara
  13. Well, that didn't take long. 3.5* in Madison Sq Gardens on HOTWIRE for $203/night, for a total of 750.50. Tryp Times Square South. Just around the corner from the Affinia and $100 cheaper with free internet. Very happy with this deal! Amenities (Same as in the HW list): Free Internet Smoke free Fitness Restaurant Business center High-speed Internet Access Accessible path In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-In shower
  14. Just to update: I have bid up to $236: (230 with $6 bonus buck/night) 4* TS, MTW, MSG, ESB, CP, Soho 3.5* MSG, TS I just now reserved at Affinia Manhattan (PRICELINE 3.5* in MSG) for about my max PL amount (230 + taxes/etc) for a total of $854. It is cancellable up to 24 hours beforehand. I like this property. I stayed here last June for $165/night (and at the time thought that was expensive!) I will continue to bid, but will be more selective, and probably no more than $200ish a night. I will update if my plans change (which means I got a great deal!) Sara
  15. Hi Aaron. Thanks. But that is not the issue. Why different for 4 adults vs 2 adults/2 children? Hotwire defines "children" as 2-17. 2- adults and 2- 16 year olds really count as 4 adults in my book! So I'm just trying to figure out why HW is giving me different sets of rooms and prices? I am going with the "4 adults" as a safety, trying to ensure 2 beds or bed/sofa/cot. Sara
  16. I'm trying to get a room for two Moms and two 16 year old daughters. They want two beds (one Mom and one daughter in each bed). When I put in 2 adults/2 children I get different hotels and prices compared to 4 adults. Why is that? I think I'm going to go with the 4 adults--seems like the best bet to be able to fit 4 people. Sara
  17. It's the Cove at Ormond Beach. Got it for $290/night. I'm pretty happy! It was way more $$ to get TWO hotel rooms and very difficult to find a property for only 2 nights. This will work just fine for us. Here's hoping HOTWIRE respects the "4 adults"/1 bedroom requirement. Sara
  18. Trying to find a place for me and my Dad to stay for Daytona. Would prefer 2 bedrooms or at least a bedroom and living room sofa. Put in for 4 adults and got this property: 3* Ormond Beach Resort Free Parking Beachfront 1 Bedroom Suite Fully-equipped Kitchen Indoor pool Smoke Free Room AC Washer/dryer Pools Front Desk Laundry High speed Internet Tennis Kitchenette Condo Any guesses? Seems like it might be perfect for me and my Dad. Sara
  19. Hi, Thereuare. Thanks for moving the thread. I wasn't sure if I should mix the PL and HW board issues. I've bid up to 230 for a 4* and 210 for a 3.5*. I also have bonus bucks so each night also was +6, so really $236 for a 4* and 216 for a 3.5*. As for paying $250 for HW right now, probably not. Just like to gather information so I can make an informed decision when I'm bidding. Thanks for all the advice Sara
  20. Anyone have an idea what these rooms could be? It's for a 3.5* in Times Square, $259/night Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Restaurant High-Speed internet Accessible for blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility accessible bathroom Roll-in shower This is 3.5* in MSG for $268/night Pet friendly Smoke free Fitness Restaurant Business Center High speed internet Accessible for blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Could it be the Affinia Manhattan? No MSG are listed as "Pet-friendly" Thanks! Sara
  21. I tend to be an early bidder and usually have great luck! It gives you time to work up to a max bid with being worried. However, I've been bidding for the next weekend in Dec with no luck so far. Much more expensive than when I have visited in the spring or fall previously. I'm up to $220 for a 4* in TS, CPS, MTW, ESB, MSG, and Soho and $175 for a 3,5* in TS, ESB and Soho.
  22. Ugh, thanks! I thought I went through all the hotels--must've missed that one. So, I would be looking for: 4* CPS, MTW, ESB, MSG and TS or 3.5* MSG or TS? Max $200 (for now). Think it's doable? Sara
  23. Unfortunately, no. It's for a conference that weekend so I'm locked in for the dates. I already have a plane ticket and theater tickets! Sara
  24. Sorry, 12/12-12/15. Arrive Thurs, leave Sun. And, as always I use the links to do my searches. I really like the "quickquote" search boxes at the top of the page.
