  1. Thank you! Based on the Hotwire prices for my dates, I've booked the Intercontinental because I had one free night using points, so I don't think I would be saving much in that zone. I'll update again if I decide differently because I'll keep checking prices/zones.
  2. Hello. I replied to my prior post from 2012. I am still seeing this for San Juan, 4* Isla Verde, Feb 11 - 15; $218 with amenties : FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. Thanks for your help!
  3. Hello - I'm not clear why you're asking me to reply to a thread from 2012. I never ended taking this trip which is why I did not reply. I will certainly post any 'wins' I have, but didn't realize I needed to provide an update to every inquiry. Thanks!
  4. These amenities don't seem to match with any I see on the list of possibles. It is saying "Boutique". FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  5. OK thank you. I didn't realize there was a change in your process. Do I need to do anything else? Thanks!
  6. I entered dates of 1/23 - 1/27 for San Juan. A 3.5* came up with Amenities: Casino, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business. I don't see an exact match for any of the 3.5* hotels listed. Can you help identify it? Thanks!
  7. Tried bidding over several days from $95 to $115. Received counter-offers from $161 - $164. After 4 days, bid of $115 was accepted.
  8. Hertz now has what they refer to as their 'Green Collection' which I think includes Hybrids.
  9. Does anyone know, for hotels that always include free breakfast (e.g. Fairfield Inn), will we still get it with rooms reserved thru Priceline? I know in the past I reserved rooms at hotels where the free breakfast is included only for some of the rates, so I did not get it when I reserved thru Priceline. This was a hotel that is not part of a larger chain and guests were given a card for the breakfast. I'm assuming that at Fairfield Inn, I would still get the free breakfast because I don't recall ever receiving a card to hand in at breakfast when I've stayed there before. Thanks.
  10. 1st bid at $65 rejected. Next bid of $70 accepted.
  11. Did you attempt another bid PRIOR to the end of the 72 hour period? If so, PL may have started the clock ticking from that point. This happened to me once. I had placed a bid which was rejected. I did not have any rebid options for dates or zones, so I had to wait 72 hours. Before the 72 hours was up, PL sent me an email saying it had been 3 days since my last bid so I could bid again. When I tried, it rejected because the 72 hours was not up, and then started a new 72 hour period from that time/date, not the original. Or, did you have several attempts on that request? Sometimes not all of them show up and I thought only the latest one showed? You could send the email you received to PL Customer Service. I personally would be interested in how that goes. :) I'm being somewhat sarcastic here because it sometimes takes a few tries before you get other than a standard response.
  12. I was given of counteroffer of + $11.00 which I did not accept. Rather than take the time to determine in what areas I might have a free rebid, I'll try again in a few days.
  13. Had several lower bids for a 2.5 star reject for that day.
  14. Hi, It's a 2*. Yes, those are the only amenities. You can see it now if you use 7/12-7/13.
  15. A suite hotel shows up for Hyannis/Yarmouth on 7/11-7/13. Other amenties are Pool and Children's Activities. Any idea what it is?
  16. First bid of $70 rejected. Added Chestnut Hill and increased to 80.00. Your Offer Price: $80.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $80.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.02 Total Charges: $97.
  17. I loved this hotel. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. I reserved the hotel through Hotwire, for which I paid $131 per night. Booking through Hotwire, I wasn
  18. In researching and booking a trip on Hotwire for Puerto Rico, the hotel I wanted - the Wyndham El Conquistidor showed up on 3/18-3/21 for $131. I searched the same dates and area using Hotel + Car and the total came to $1,100. Just wanted others to be aware. It seems the Hotwire hotel price is not the same if you do it that way.
  19. Yes, You got it all right! Thanks again. I'll be back here for my next trip,
  20. Hi, Thanks again for your reply. I will be renting a car. I decided I didn't want to stay in SJ the whole time. I went thru Hotwire and got the Wyndham El Conquistidor for $131 from 3/18-3/21. Should I make a separate post?
  21. Hi, I need some more help. Another hotel that came up is in Rio Grande/Humecao for $130 for 3/18-3/21. It is Resort/4*. Somewhere I read what the amenities are for Wyndham El Conquistidor vs. Westin. I checked thru Hotwire packages to verify the amenities. The only difference between the 2 is that the Westin has an "airport shuttle" amenity. The one that came up on my request did not have it, so I'm thinking now it is the Wyndham El C. I am thinking this because amenities are: Casino, Oceanfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Bus. Center, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa, Laundry. But it seems the amenities are different in the packages? In the package, Wyndham El C. showed as: Beach Access, Beachfront, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business Center, Golf, Tennis, Spa, Laundry. In packages, Westin showed as Resort, Beach Access, Beachfront, Casino, Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Bus Center, Golf, Tennis. I guess it doesn't matter, but my preference is the Westin, but I think that would show as 'Customer Favorite' and 4.5/Resort? Whadya think? Thanks Again.
  22. Thanks for your prompt replies. I think you are right and that I should just go for it. The Wyndham has to be better than the Holiday Inn Express, and for not much more $, right? The only drawback is that I need to change hotels. Do you know anything about the Holiday Inn?
  23. At the time of my post, I had not yet bid. I was hoping to get something less than the $132, maybe the Hilton. But now I realize that PL has the Wyndham Condado as Resort, so I might end up with that anyway. I have since bid $85.00 for Resort and it was rejected. My question was whether I should continue to try PL and for how long, what are the chances that the Wyndham on Hotwire will no longer be available if I wait, or will prices go down or more options be available on Hotwire if I continue waiting until closer to my dates. Thanks.
  24. I'll be in Puerto Rico from 3/17-3/22. I have 2 free nights with points at the Holiday Inn Express for 3/17 and 3/21. The other 3 nights I am paying $129.00. I know nothing about the hotel and am afraid I won't like it. Anyway, Hotwire shows a 3.5 star for 132.00 for 3/18-3/21 which I'm assuming is the Wyndham Condado. Since it is not much more than the Holiday Inn, I am thinking of going for it. But I'm wondering if I should try and bid thru PL for a resort level and if you can guide me as to what bid might be accepted - would up to $130 do it? I am also confused about resort fees and taxes. Is the issue I saw on another post that the hotel charged the tax even though it was included in the prepaid Hotwire/PL amount? I thought the prepaid amount included all taxes, so I just want to make sure another tax isn't charged when I get there. I'm also not clear as to how 'inventory' works. I'd like to try PL to get something lower than the 132.00, but since I want to bid resort, I'll have to wait 72 hours. I'm afraid if I do that, the 3.5 star will be gone on Hotwire. If PL gives a counterbid, do I have to wait 72 hours? Thanks in advance! This is a great forum.
