  1. I tried 200 for 5/24-26.. didn't take. i would assume that 5/22-5/24 are probably around 180, and 5/24-/526 is probably closer to $240... maybe try 200-220 range if you really want it.
  2. mm i guess no one really replied, so i just pulled the trigger anyway. Two rooms.. wanted 4* vegas.. did not really want the westin, but thought we'd get stuck with it so we just went with a low bid initially so we don't pay high for westin.. originally tried $130 to get the westin.. rejected. then was daring and went $170 to avoid the westin. $170/night accepted. 4* Monte Carlo. We're happy :) sorry thereuare if we didn't use the link. i was away when my friend made the bid and he didn't know to use the link...
  3. as for 5*s the venetian pool is wonderful. plus they have a little more exclusive "beach" area as well. they have a spa right next to the pools which has a nice little place to eat inside as well. i'm sure the palazzo would have an even better pool. all the 5*'s have amazing pools/spas. and you might be able to get the on nighter for $200 considering i saw a few posts around here that got palazzo or venetian for that same date at $180. i suggest you doing the rebidding technique described here: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for the 5* starting at 180 and then working your way up to $200 with $5 increments... maybe it'll still be available at that price range for that one day. oh and if you're looking for two nights, for 5/24-5/26... i tried bidding at $210 but it didn't fly. they reoffered at $270 or $280 a night... but that was outside of my budget.
  4. thanks for the reply.. well it's off the strip for starters.. and the other 4*'s are much much better. or at least would be considered 4*s... westin is a 3* on tripadvisor...
  5. Hi all, 8 of us are planning to go to Vegas for memorial day weekend from Sat - Monday 5/24-5/26. We're trying to get a 4* hotel either north or south strip for around $150-$170 per night per room for 2 rooms, and call in and ask for two double beds per room once the rooms are booked. We saw that someone got $140 for Fri - Sun for the westin, but we definitely are trying to avoid it. I don't know why Priceline added that hotel to their 4* list but it really deters us from wanting to bid. we've already tried $160/night for 4* North... A couple questions we have if you guys could help... Would bidding $170/night probably give us the Westin? Because if so, we might as well bid a lower price if we're getting a lower quality hotel. but we want to try and avoid westin and get the other 4*s... We would rather do excaliber at $177/night on Expedia than stay at the westin for $170/night for gambling purposes. Are there any other deals that you guys know of that might be better? We are not willing to split hotel locations... Any help would be great. Thank you!
  6. did priceline just get THEhotel as a 5*? it comes up listed as 5* in "Las Vegas Strip Vicinity" does this mean that if we bid from now on for a 5*, we're not necessarily guaranteed Venetian?
  7. Listed on priceline and most websites as $135/night 11/10-11/12 4* Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North, Monte Carlo bid $90 bid $95 bid $105 bid $110 bid $120 success. I guess I only saved about $20 since the final price is $294.19 on monte carlo website, and my price was $274.36. after thinking about it though, maybe it would have been better to do it directly since I want two queens anyway, as opposed to being up in the air... I guess that $20 can go towards a tip and see my luck... thanks all. ps how hard is it to make sure we get two queens instead of one king?
  8. Saw some posts earlier about trying to get a 4* in Chicago for around $180 and I want to stay near the Loop. So I started at $180.... and it went through. 10/13-10/15 The Palmer House not sure if this was a good deal though. Anyone think this is a good deal? Priceline has the original price at $299.... :)
  9. 5/26 - 5/28, Saturday Check-In over memorial day weekend Bid on two 4* hotels at $185/night/room. rejected. tried again at $195. went through. was hoping for TI but ended up being Luxor. at first I was disappointed, but it turned out to be a pretty big Two 2bed bedrooms which was our main concern since we only had "2" people in each room... :) (if you are super cheap, get a nice room for two people, request 2 queens, then request for a roll out cot/bed via house keeping, then if you need even more, take off the matress and have people sleep on the bedsprings [not TOO bad..]) This was memorial day weekend so we expected high prices and good times. :)
  10. well I went to priceline and just made a bid for $180, but the site told me that I had already made a bid of $180 the day before, so I had to rebid. So i rebid $181. I'm assuming if I had not bid $180 the day before, a lower bid could have been accepted on this day. Confused? So am i :) anyway, i have another vegas trip 5/26-5/28. does anyone know how to secure a 2 queen at the venetian if we bid through priceline? thanks... i'll probably repost the question when the time comes and no one has replied..
  11. I know it's a little steep priceline showed $230 a night. venetian.com was showing $219 a night :) i bid $180 yesterday which was turned down. today i bid $181 after the price went from $239 to $219 on the venetian site success. although it's not a GREAT deal, it's good for the nights.
  12. I'm looking to try and book the Venetian for around $300/night. But I want to find a 2 queen bed room. I know that most sites say to contact the hotel directly, but Venetian completely separates 2 queen suites from the 1 king suites. Are the hotel rooms posted as 5 star Hotwire/Priceline only for Venetian 1 king? If so, then does anyone know how i can get a venetian 2 queen for 300/night? Right now it's about 400/night booking directly. any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
