Yes, it is in the Holyoke zone. The point is, I did not bid for Holyoke, I bid for Northampton. I am not complaining about the hotel... it was very nice, seemed relatively new and was only a few miles from Northampton. We booked at the last minute because of a forecast of snow and not wanting to drive home late at night in the snow, so we were happy to get the hotel. JB

Pillows... lots of them! I want them more for when I'm stretched out on the bed watching TV or reading. At least two bath towels per person. Free Wi-fi. Starting bidding on this about 2 weeks ago at $34. With two free re-bids, I went up $1 at a time until I reached $45, all rejected and without even a counter offer. Today I decided to try it again, but backtracked to $41, and got it on that try. Might have gotten it a bit cheaper, but I'm happy with this. Website lowest rate is $99. We really like this hotel. We've stayed in the Mystic area frequently. Whenever I've bid on 2* on Priceline, we've gotten the Days Inn, with the exception of one time, about two years ago, when they bumped us up to the Residence Inn. While it's never a guarantee that you'll get the same hotel, I'd try bidding on Priceline for a 2* in the Mystic area, but at a lower rate than the Hotwire rate. JB

I must have bid at least 10 times over the past three weeks, starting with 3* and going down to 2.5 and to 2. Finally won this hotel. We stayed here several years ago when it was Amerisuites and really liked it, so I am pleased. Average daily room rate on the hotel's website is $185! I've stayed at this hotel twice, both times through PRICELINE. I'm pretty sure this hotel was built as an Amerisuites hotel and all the rooms are suites. Both times we stayed there we had a suite. It's more of a mini-suite, because while there is a separate bedroom area, it is not a closed room such as found in Embassy Suite Hotels. The hotel is very nice, and includes free breakfast (or it did when we were there). JB

I've been bidding unsuccessfully for a rental car in FLL for the week of 3/15-3/21. I started at $10/day up to $18/day, using Economy, Compact and Mid-Size cars... all rejected. I just checked on HOTWIRE, and they are quoting $33 for Economy, $34 for Compact and $35 for Mid-size cars. Does anyone have a guess as to why these rates are so high for this week? Any suggestions, or should I just keep bidding and upping my price? Should I wait until closer to the travel dates? Thanks! JB

Well... I took the 3* $59 hotel, and it turned out to be the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport. I am NOT happy. When it said Bridgeport-Shelton, I thought that meant it would be in Shelton. That's how priceline does it... is that not how Hotwire does it? Do I have any recourse with Hotwire. I think it's really misleading to put Shelton there, if the hotel is in Bridgeport. JB
