  1. Based on my successful $46 bid, I decided to try again for new dates. Bid $45 at 2.5 stars in Hauppauge and my bid for a 2 night stay was upgraded & accepted. Wonder if $45 is the floor or can it go even lower? Used the PRICELINE link above.
  2. Haven't used PL for a long time and haven't seen this hotel listed recently. Started out at 2.5 stars in Hauppauge for $40 but was offered a rebid for $12 more. Declined and added another rebid zone for $46. My bid was accepted and I was upgraded to 3 stars. I have stayed at this hotel many times but this is the first time via PL. :) Used the PRICELINE link above.
  3. Dahammer- Saw your tip on Tango Steakhouse on a previous post. We tried it yesterday for lunch and had the skirt steak and Quilmes. Very tasty. Thanks for the recommendation. Argentinians make the best steaks. Will go again on my next fishing trip to Connequot. Cityfishing
  4. It is the Hilton Garden Inn. Please edit the title to show the hotel name. I tried for a 3* in Suffolk with no luck up to $45.
  5. Your Offer Price: $23.00 Total Rental Days: 5 Subtotal: $115.00 Taxes & Fees: $24.18 Total Charges: $139.18 5 day rental with National Cheap way to visit Niagara Falls and Toronto.
  6. Here is a new entry for the hotel list. :) Room: $43.00 Taxes: $11.72 Total Charges: $54.72
  7. Started at $40 and went up by $5 using free rebids. Accepted at $55. Hotwire shows $71 and Hyatt.com has $169 for the same dates.
  8. Thanks for your help. I checked Hotwire today and the Hyatt is now 71. I decide to use Priceline instead and got it for $55/night. I will post my win in the Priceline board.
  9. I am looking for a room in downtown Chicago for 1/20 - 1/22. Hotwire shows 4* M-Mile- Wacker (customer favorite) with rest, fitness, spa, hi-speed, business for $56. I am pretty sure this is the Hyatt. They also show another 4* in the Loop with rest, fitness, hi-speed and business for $86. I think this is the W City Center or Hard Rock but the amenities don't match exactly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  10. Try again in a few days. I had problems getting a room for the same dates. See my Wyndham thread posted today. Or you can try HOTWIRE and get the Crowne Plaza for 97.
  11. Your Offer Price: $85.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $170.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $30.20 Total Charges: $200.20 I tried Friday night with no luck for 4* or Resort in Universal or Downtown. Hoping to get the Renaissance, JW Marriott or Westin. Went up to $125 with no takers. Also on Friday night, I tried Resort in WDW to $110 with no luck either. Hotwire had the Westin at 155, Wyndham at 135 and Crowne Plaza at 97. Seems like Priceline didn't have any inventory. Waited until Saturday and had a friend bid. Tried Resort again from $80. Got rejected but offered a rebid at $22 more. Declined and try free rebid zone at 85. Hoping for Gaylord Palms or one of the better resorts but got the Wyndham. Hope it is better than the reviews.
  12. Just updating the board about a prior stay. Reservation was made the same day as checkin. Nice hotel about an hour outside of LA and close to Santa Barbara.
  13. Your Offer Price: $48.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $11.80 Total Charges: $59.80
  14. Your Offer Price: $38.00 Total Rental Days: 1 Subtotal: $38.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.81 Total Charges: $52.81
  15. Supposedly they just needed my credit card. We went back to the same clerk that my wife originally saw. She knew that I paid my PL reservation with a MasterCard. I asked her if I had given my wife my card, would she have been able to check in? She said yes. So PL probably gives them my cc info too.
  16. Only my name was on the reservation but I was unable to checkin in the afternoon. I gave my wife a copy of the confirmation and my driver's license so she could check in. The front desk clerk would not allow her to check in on my reservation without the actual credit card that I used on Priceline. She had to check in under her name and credit card and we had to switch it over to my PL reservation later that evening. Only took 10 minutes to do this but I don't understand their policy of seeing the actual credit card used on PL. The drivers license should be enough. Hotel doesn't get paid with my credit card but with PL's. We had to put a credit card on file for incidentals but that doesn't have to match the one used on PL. Is this policy common for checking in?
  17. just an FYI - they charged $4 for overnight self parking in their garage
  18. hotturnip - what is the 10,000 point stay-3-times Platinum promotion? Thanks.
  19. Hyatt usually runs promotions that give extra bonus points for stays at certain hotels. I assume it is usually done for properties with expected low occupancy rates. Do PL stays qualify for these offers? Usually you have to enter a code like GP1000 or GP2000 when making a regular reservation. You can also request it when checking in but have not tried it in conjuction with a PL booked room. Has anyone tried this and been successful? Hyatt has usually been pretty friendly to PL customers giving them both stay credits and points for incidentals.
  20. Any other printer deals? This one is out of stock and some of the rebates have expired. Where do you find all of these bargains?
  21. Your Offer Price: $45.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.51 Total Charges: $57.51 Tried 4* up to $60 but all rejected. Bid up to $48 for a 3* a few days ago with no takers.
  22. Bid was only for July 3rd. Thanks for correcting my title. Great board. Keep up the good work.
  23. Thanks for the tip. It does look like their rate has gone up. Tried again today and got accepted at $43. I got countered on my previous bid of 37 for $12 so I just split the difference. Going to see the Grucci fireworks at Kaboom on the Navesink. All the hotels in Tinton Falls and Red Bank are sold out. The Hyatt is only about a 1/2 hour away. Halfway there to a Faster Free Nights award. Your Offer Price: $43.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $43.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.37 Total Charges: $55.37
  24. Kind of surprised this was not accepted as the Hyatt website and Expedia both show availability at $71. I started at 35 and bumped it up to 37 by adding Lebanon. I haven't seen a 3* come up in Lebanon in a long time. Tried just the 3rd for 37 and was rejected too. Will try again in 3 days.
