  1. Amenities: Free Internet (in Public Area) Free Parking Indoor Pool Outdoor Pool Shuttle Non-Smoking Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center
  2. 3* South Portland-Scarborough Maine for 3/31 to 4/1/12 - Doubletree By Hilton. This was a rather short notice trip so I was really hoping to score something decent. I already knew I could get a bottom line hotel for about $52- Americas Best Value Inn with Value Club membership. While that is definitely my "fall back/bottom line" hotel, I was hoping I could get something better for about the same or less. I started my bidding at 3.5* with South Portland at $45 and bid up to $55 adding both Portland West and Biddeford-Saco zones. After my first rebid I got an offer to increase my bid by $20 (from $50 to $70). I chose to add Biddeford and $5 and got nothing. Started new session and bid 3* in South Portland for $40 and bid up to $55 (using "permutation bidding) and got nothing. Started another new session and bid 2.5* $40 and bid up to $53 this time.... and "ta-da"... got upgraded to 3* Doubletree in South Portland zone. I have no idea why I didn't just get the Doubletree when I bid up to $55 for a 3*, but I'll take it. Now lets just hope their $50 "Refundable" pet deposit is, in fact, refundable. I started my bidding using the PRICELINE link. Thanks for the site, it always helps me research.
  3. Just where I needed to be!! B) Crowne Plaza Cromwell 3 Star Kensington - Cromwell 100 Berlin Road Cromwell, Connecticut 06416 They have a new interface on the initial zone selection page that lists guaranteed amenities in different star levels. Here's mine: Listed Guaranteed Amenities: Pool, Internet, Business, 8+ Used the PRICELINE link at the top of the page.
  4. I didn't see this hotel listed on either the hotel list or in previous wins. I booked this on the afternoon of the stay, so maybe they don't offer rooms through Hotwire until very close to the day of stay. Amenities: Resort Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby This is actually a VERY LARGE property with a few conference rooms, a ballroom, an exhibit hall, a children's play room, small arcade and game room, mid-sized indoor pool, bar in the lobby, a finer dining restaurant ("Legends"), a casual dining restaurant ("Vistas"), a comedy club, and a gift shop. The hotel guest rooms are built in a large circle with a central courtyard containing a large pool and baby pool, pool deck with lounge chairs, a sand volley ball pit, shuffle board, a pool side grill/snack bar called "Splashes", and a guard station that has athletic equipment for use. The outside grounds contain a softball field, an 18-hole golf course, "Night Lit" putting green, mini golf, a driving range, "Mulligans" restaurant on the course, a basketball court, 2 tennis courts, stables, bike rentals, walking/jogging trail, a pro shop, and a separate expo building. It is located within blocks of two outlet malls, next to another shopping center and several LOTS restaurants nearby. It is also across the street and down a few blocks from "Dutch Wonderland" (a children's amusement park) and several other kitschy "Amish" themed shops nearby. Compared to other hotels and motels in the immediate area, this is a step up and they are PET FRIENDLY. I will say it seems as if the facility might be understaffed right now. I was unable to get anyone to answer several calls to the front desk and had to walk from the back of the complex to the front desk to request more pillows, and during the walk through the courtyard I saw several areas where used cups and rubbish had not been picked up from the patio areas of rooms opening out to the courtyard. There was also a large event tent set up in part of the courtyard with chairs stacked in it, so I think there may have been an event here in the last day or so and they are still trying to clean up. There are some other minor things that just kinda give the impression of needing a bit more attention. However, I will say that over all I am fairly impressed with the hotel and facilities. I would definitely stay here again and I would book it for friends of family- especially those that have kids. (Used the BetterBidding link)
  5. This was a second night for my hubby and I after a separate reservation of two rooms. I wasn't able to "extend my stay" on just one of the two rooms previously booked, but I was able to Priceline the room at the same price. Check-In Date: Monday, September 7, 2010 Check-Out Date: Tuesday, September 8, 2010 Homestead Seattle-Bellevue 3700 132nd Ave Se Bellevue, Washington 98006 425-865-8680 Your Offer Price: $37.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $37.00 Taxes and Fees: $12.49 Total Charges*: $49.49 This hotel isn't anything super special, but it provided a nice room with plenty of space (more than the basic Extended Stay rooms) and a decent kitchenette with apartment size fridge. They aren't fancy, but they meet our needs.
  6. I went ahead and Pricelined these rooms for the back end of our trip with our friends as well. This time I got the rooms for a buck less than last week. I was also able to Priceline a room for my hubby and I one more night at the same price. The second night was a separate booking since I couldn't "extend my stay" on just one of the two rooms I booked here. Check-In Date: Monday, September 6, 2010 Check-Out Date: Tuesday, September 7, 2010 Homestead Seattle-Bellevue 3700 132nd Ave Se Bellevue, Washington 98006 425-865-8680 Your Offer Price: $37.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $74.00 Taxes and Fees: $18.32 Total Charges*: $92.32 This hotel isn't anything super special, but it provided a nice room with plenty of space (more than the basic Extended Stay chain) and a decent kitchenette with apartment size fridges. They aren't fancy, but they meet our needs.
  7. Actually got two rooms at this hotel for the same date, but bid at two different times since I wasn't positive if my friend still needed a room or not. I stayed at this hotel last year at about the same time for a couple of days- it was a good deal and worked really well for our needs. It does seem as if the taxes and fees have increased though, or they don't charge 2x taxes & fees for 2 nights- Last year (8/31/10), two nights at $40/night + $19.35 taxes and fees = $99.35 This year, one night at $38/night + $12.66 taxes and fees = $50.66 Anyway, I'm happy with this outcome. I tried to use the link at the top, but don't know if it stayed active because I'm using mobile internet and lost signal a couple times.
  8. The hotel looks very nice and it's close to where I need to be, so let's hope everything goes well. I really do wish that dogs were an option, but I know that will probably never happen. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Norfolk Marriott Chesapeake 3
  9. I'm looking at this property right now too, for a trip in several months. dubl07one: Did you ever make a purchase in this area? If so, what did you get? This place? Someplace else? Any suggestions? TilePusher: What makes you think it's the Signature at MGM Grand? If it is, that would be great cuz I'd be going to town to see something specifically at the MGM Grand. Any more thoughts on this property? Thanks- Meg
  10. $45 Bid on 2.5* in West Omaha (prefered) area accepted and upgraded to 3* Crown Plaza. Started at $40 in West Omaha- rejected but $12 counter offer made. Added Bellvue and bid $43- rejected. Added Southwest Omaha and bid $45- accepted and upgraded! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Crowne Plaza Omaha Old Mill West Omaha 655 N 108th Ave Omaha, Nebraska 68154 402-496-0850 Check-In Date: Wed, Sep 17, 2008 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Thu, Sep 18, 2008 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.40 Total Charges*: $60.40 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I believe I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link, but I can't remember for sure. BTW, Hotwire was offering: 3* West Omaha (fitness, pool, restaurant, business, and laundary) = $59 2.5* West Omaha (fitness, laundary, hi-speed internet, and kitchenette) = $45 2* West Omaha (fitness and launary) = $39 I believe the 2.5* was the Candlewood Suites, which is what I was kinda going after... so willing to go up to $45 max before I bit on the 2.5* Hotwire. Hope this helps someone out... I know there's not much data in this area.
  11. Congratulations, your price of $45 was accepted by Quality Inn Rapid City. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2* Quality Inn Rapid City Rapid City 1902 La Crosse St Rapid City, South Dakota 57701 605-342-3322 Check-In Date: Tue, Sep 16, 2008 / After 02:00 PM Check-Out Date: Wed, Sep 17, 2008 / 11:00 AM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Almost forgot... used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link. Thanks.
  12. I forgot to mention that I used the PRICELINE link provided on this site. Sorry for that oversight... thanks for the "reminders." :)
  13. Thanks to everyone else that posted their wins in this area. Your info made it easy for me to know what I could expect. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here's the details: Homestead Seattle-Southcenter Renton - Kent 15635 West Valley Highway Tukwila, Washington 98188 425-235-7160 Check-In Date: Sat, Sep 6, 2008 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Mon, Sep 8, 2008 / 11:00 AM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $30.00 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.05 Total Charges*: $76.05
  14. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $19.29 Total Charges*: $109.29 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sorry this is so VERY late in posting, but since it's such an infrequently reported area, I thought it would still be useful. I think the following info might also be useful for people looking in this VERY small area.: Nice hotel... it def has some qualities of a nice 3* but not quite there. Staff is plesant, rooms are spacious, and hotel is very pet friendly, which worked GREAT for us. There's a large area (part open grass w/ picnic tables and part wooded) behind hotel to walk/run dogs, which helped us and our boxer quite a bit. :) Dog fee is flat $50- not per night. Don't know about cats. There is a small pool, hot tub, a small gym (I think), and a laptop w/ printer available for use in lobby. Hotel is located right across the road from some fast food and about a block from a mall. Close to Lynchburg College and VERY close to Liberty University. I can write a more detailed review if wanted, but suffice it to say that while the hotel isn't perfect, it's nice, and at $45/ night it's a steal. MUCH MUCH better than hotel my boyfriend's mom got through "normal" means for a least $25 more per night. Happy Hunting!
  15. Actually, this is the history for HW for what is likely the Hyatt: 4/15- $134 4/16- $117 4/17- $116 4/19- back up to $117 Given the significant drop in price from Monday to Tuesday, I figured they must have plenty of availability, so I went for it. As far as your question about where it's better to stay the night you arrive, I can't tell you since I'n not local to the area. I know the Hyatt is right next to the PATH station, but I'm not sure how much of a hassel it might be to get to downtown Manhattan and take the PATH out to Jersey at 11 PM with all your luggage and what-not. But if you're on a tight budget.... might want to consider trying it.
  16. ------------------------------------------------ Your Offer Price: $78.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $78.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $19.96 Total Charges*: $97.96 -------------------------------------------------- Used the SavingsBarn link to bid/book on 04/17.
