  3. Bid accepted for 2 rooms for this 2.5* hotel at $45 per night per room. The same property appears to cost $77 per night via other travel website.
  4. Bid accepted for two rooms for this 3.5* property. Looks like regular price for this hotel is $115 per night per room.
  5. Perhaps I am doing something wrong. I thought I was using the site's PRICELINE link to bid. I navigate to priceline using the quickquote on the top left of the page, is there some other place I should start?
  6. Started bidding at $45 and move my way up. Received counteroffer for $67, reject and re-bid. Accepted at $58. Current lowest online non bid rate is $89
  7. Started bid at $55, received counter offered for $75, refused and added additional zones. Bid accepted @ $65. Including Taxes and fees = $81.46. Other online cheapest rate was $197.
  8. 4* Hotel Valencia, online rate for the same day is $168. Great Savings!
  9. Having been bidding for Chicago South (Joliet) for the last few days. No luck until now. Won this bid for 2 rooms. A little farther than what I wanted but it will do.
  10. Won 2 rooms @ the Marriott Madison West. Started bidding @ 40 went dollar by dollar until $51, spanning the last few days. Other websites listed for $129. I think it's a pretty good deal.
  11. Bid 2 rooms @ Holiday Inn Cheyenne. 2 rooms after tax and fees total $96.46. Pretty good deal. Hope the hotel is ok?
  12. After couple days of bidding, won 2 rooms for $57 each. I was searching to see if others have had experience with Ft Collins. There were only a couple of posts on Ft Collins. Bid $53 and was counter offered for $64. Decided to pass and won @ $57. The bid was for 7/3/08-7/4/08. Happy Bidding.
  13. It is the Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Resort. Got too excited to notify you all and forgot the hotel name :)
  14. Bid 2 rooms for Cocoa Beach. Yesterday bid up to $50 for 2 1/2 *, rejected. Today $52 accepted. For March, it's a great price. Travelocity.com goes for $136.00. Of course, always use SavingsBarn.com. Happy Bidding.
  15. Completed this bid for my relative. Needed a room quickly. Booked yesterday for today's stay. First bid for 3 * at $37. Rejected but receive a counter offer of $47. Reduced to 2 1/2* at $35. Accepted. Hampton Inn Dulles Airport. Looked at the review, it seemed very nice. Going rate on Hotels.com is $89.
  16. Hello, The travel time for the above mentioned locations should be within 30 minutes on Metrorail. For visitors, you can buy all day passes (6.50) per adult for use after 9:30 AM and throughout the day. Since you are traveling with Senior, senior member can ride metro half price. You can check out the fare on this link: http://wmata.com/riding/passes.cfm#Metrobus/Metrorail Hope this helps. Of all the locations that I mentioned, if you want to be closer to DC, Falls Church and Bethesda are very close to DC. Good luck.
  17. Hello, I know DC Area pretty well. I suggest you use Vienna, VA as a search option. It will come up with Fairfax, Falls Church, and Tysons Corner as zones for bidding. These are all in commuting distance to DC (within 15 miles). Tysons Corner is a very trendy area in this Region and it's got great shopping there. Good luck. Another suggestion would be to use Potomac, MD to search. Again it's still in the DC suburb. Using Potomac will yield zones of Bethesda and Gaithersburg. They are within 25 miles of DC. With both of these zones, you may consider using the subway as a mode of transportation into DC. Out of towners are sometimes afraid to drive in DC because of the circles, one-way streets, and other obstacles.
  18. I am hoping to stay at a 5* or least a 4* hotel at $150 or less. At this point it appears unlikely, but hope time is on my side.
  19. Have been trying to bid the Virginia Beach Area for a week or so now for Memorial Day weekend. Since this is the Friday-Saturday stay, I expected to pay a little more. Today won the bid for Hilton Norfolk Airport for $48. Really happy with the price, checked on Expedia the going rate is $135. There are 4 of us going since the price was so good, I asked my brother to bid another room. His bid was also accepted for $48. What a steal! Will never forget about using Savingsbarn before going to Priceline again, it takes some getting used to since I started using Priceline more than 1 year ago before joining this board.
  20. First bid $45, second bid addded Newport News Area and increase to $50. Bid accepted. Checked Travelocity, the going rate is $110. Saving of more than 100%, will let you know if the stay is as pleasant as the moment that my bid was accepted.
  21. Somewhere in this board, someone mentioned that September is high season for Convention in Vegas. Is this true? If so, I guess I am going to have to pay more for the hotels in general?
  22. Any idea what price I should bid for the Venetians? Hotwire is showing $393 per night, though last night was $227. Any chance I can get it for around $150 to $180? I still have alot of time to bid, any idea whether the price will drop as the dates get closer? Should I wait? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
  23. won bid on 4/14 for stay 4/28-29, 3* got Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort at $70, probably could have gotten a better price. On 4/13 won the bid for the same hotel for $62 to stay 4/30 to 5/1. Expedia has it listed as $99. The reviews look favorable. Look forward to the stay. I looked at the list of hotels that priceline uses for MB, Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort is not on it. So this should be a new hotel listing and I believe it's in the Pawley's Island & Murrells Inlet zone. Just won another bid today for Myrtle Beach for 3* hotels at $56 for 4/29-30 at Holiday Inn Oceanfront @ Surfside Beach. Travelocity lists for $109. Looks like a steal deal to me. Bid for all zones yesterday at Myrtle Beach for 3* up to $59 but did not get anything.
