  1. i cant recommend any specific parking lots around the airport but i did google it and it looks real cheap and their a lot of them available, looks like some are 5 bucks a day. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%...amp;btnG=Search yeah i think its crazy that hotels can charge so much for parking and actually get away with it, but their a business and if there are tourists willing to pay for it, they look at it as a great revenue stream and they will continue doing it
  2. yeah with the parking your screwed anywhere in LA. parking is a premium. theres a church near me, when their not in service, they rent there parking spaces out. sometimes i park for free on the street, but sometimes i gotta move in the morning at 8am cause of the street restrictions. and in some neighborhoods, your cant park your car overnight without a permit. sometimes its worth actually paying to park it. sometimes not, it depends. but downtown, forget it, you might try to park it overnight in a garage or parking lot and that would probably be cheaper than using the hotel.
  3. I wouldnt never want to stay in a hotel in Bell Gardens, its just trying to want to stay in a hotel in compton, haha. free parking? haha this is LA, LA hotels dont believe in free parking, almost every hotel charges for parking. welcome to la. the first thing you do is pay out your ass for parking, lol. its a way of life. stay away from downtown where the parking there is around 30 bucks a night. also not many hotels have kitchens or even fridges in them. space is limited. you cant single out a residence inn in LA or an embassy suites. their bunched up with other hotels. so your not most likely not going to get one. though some hotels you can request a mini fridge, for a fee. if your trying to save money, I would recommend bidding for 3 star by LAX, or 3 star woodland hills. ive gotten the hilton in woodland hills many times for 40-50bucks a night. but woodland hills is about 30 mins away from hollywood or anywhere. but if your willing to drive to it, its fine, plus theres free street parking. By LAX theres the crowne plaza, hilton and marriot u can usually get in the 40-60$ range. (sometimes the 4* westin u can get for 60) but there is limited free street parking. one time i got the westin for 70, and i parked it half mile away but i had to move it by 8am because of the street restrictions, but i didnt pay no $ to park it. screw em!
  4. It depends, I guess the question I should be asking you is, What time of day? Try not to drive on the freeways between 6-9am, and 4-7pm. it is usually gridlocked during those times. But if you must hop on the 101, or the 10, or the 405 during those times, expect to take much longer to get to your destination. From downtown to Hollywood it's only about 15-20 mins during non rush hour traffic. Hell if its midnight i can make it from hollywood to downtown in 10 mins down the 101. its only 6 miles away. from hollywood to the airport it will take longer since LAX is much further south and west. about 20 miles. during non rush hour times, expect it to take half hour or longer. i can get to LAX after 9pm in 25 mins. but if you do it at noon, it could take much longer since from hollywood your going south on the 101, to the 110S to the 10W to the 405s. i would get familar with a map and look at the many side streets, lots of streets run parralel to the highways. or better yet, invest in a GPS, i have a Garmin streetpilot 2720 and it automatically detours me around traffic. its a must have in LA.
  5. I live in Los Angeles. All hotels here charge for parking. The only hotel that I know of that doesn't charge for parking is the courtyard in burbank but they dont accept priceline. all the hotels through priceline charge for parking, even the crappy ones. it's just another way for them to make more money. Stay away from the hotels downtown especially the Bonaventure where the parking is like 30 bucks a night. So I think you find a hotel and the parking is 10 bucks, it's a bargain.
