  1. Thanks, that's a good point. It's just so much cheaper to fly into FLL than MIA, and stay in Ft. Lauderdale vs. Miami, and they're a short ride apart making hotels at either beach/airport an option. It's all part of the budget/planning process to get the best value. I will return when I'm ready to commit to a purchase.
  2. Thank you. Both are great options but as of now only our cruised is booked & we just need a 1 night stay prior. We are starting to lean toward staying in Ft. Lauderdale beach area so I may inquiring again soon. Would I start a new thread for that? Thanks for your help.
  3. Bear with me, it's been a while since I've used Hotwire... Searched: 2 adults/1 child 4/7/15-4/8/15 Hotel #1 4.5* Downtown Miami $249 Full Amenities: Pet Friendly Boutique hotel Smoke Free rooms Fitness Pool Restaurant Business center Self serve laundry Internet access Golf nearby Tennis nearby Spa services Acc for blind Acc for deaf Acc path of travel In room acc Wheelchair acc Acc bathroom Handicapped parking Roll in Shower Hotel #2 4.5* $178 Full Amenities: Fitness center Pool Restaurant Business Center Self serve laundry Internet access Spa services Acc for blind Acc for deaf Acc path of travel In room acc Acc bathroom Handicapped parking Roll in shower I'm guessing Hotel #1 is Epic but not sure on #2. I'd appreciate any help.
  4. We just won Hyatt for 1 night, searched: Oct 29-30, 6 rooms, 12 adults/12 kids $74 per room 4* MCO area with these amenities: Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center High-speed Internet Access Trip advisor rating: 4.5/5 Used your HOTWIRE link. Great website, thanks.
  5. Well put! I follow these steps exactly and it has worked for me several times over the past 2 years. It's a little harder to get the night before a Disney cruise (Wed, Fri and Sat nights) but checking daily and often, it will often show up. Now even the Costco discount rate of $119 seems high. Can't beat the location and convenience.
  6. Darn, it's gone. I checked again today and it's offering the Wingate Inn as the 3* option. We've stayed there before and it was clean and modern but the AC leaked, soaking the carpet and the free breakfast was mediocre; not nearly as good as your typical Fairfield Inn, HI Express, Spring Hill Suites, etc. I will patiently wait and hope for the Hyatt MCO to show up as our date gets closer.
  7. I wondered this too. The Hyatt MCO is 4.5/5 on tripadvisor.com. HW used to list the # of reviews on tripadvisor also which is no longer listed. I too am patiently waiting for Hyatt MCO to show up for late Oct. So far I can only 'see' it up to Oct. 4. Any random date I search for after Oct. 4 doesn't show it. It has been this way since June. Also when I search for 2 adults only, the Renaissance shows up. When added 2 kids, the Hyatt shows. HOTWIRE has changed their website slightly when searching for vacation packages so that is not a clue anymore. My parents will be joining us so I do have a reservation at the senior rate of $129 but seeing other places on HOTWIRE for $30-something sure is tempting. Good luck!
  8. We ended up finding a good deal at HGVC on International Drive and had always wanted to try it out; very nice. Thanks for your help.
  9. Searched MCO area 2 adults, 2 kids Oct. 30, 1 night found this: 3* $39 shuttle comp. breakfast fitness pool business laundry HSIA I'd appreciate your help as this is not already on the hotel list. Thanks
  10. That's what I thought initially but the TripAdvisor info given by Hotwire don't match TripAdvisor.com's ratings for Rosen Shingle Creek. Strange... We'll probably stay onsite at a Universal hotel. Their Annual Passholder rate is a huge discount. Thanks for your help!
  11. Hello, Here's my latest challenge: 1 nt stay, Sept 19-20, 2 adults 0 childen (woo-hoo!) 4* Lake Buena Vista/Downtown Disney area Fitness Pool Restaurant Laundry HSIA Golf Tennis No TripAdvisor info given. Other possibility: 4* in Sea World/I-Dr. South Fitness Pool Restaurant Business HSIA Golf Trip Advisor Info: 4.0/5, 180+ reviews, last reviewed June 09 Thanks in advance for any help!
  12. Thanks for your help. Unfortunately our plans keep changing. As of now we're not traveling. If plans change again I'll certainly use your HOTWIRE link. Thanks again, JB
  13. 1 nt stay 1/31-2/1/09 2 adults, 2 children 3.5* in Sea World/I Drive South $54.00/nt fitness pool restaurant business laundry HSIA Also lists Trip Advisor rating of 3.0/5 with 640+ ratings. Thanks for any help you can offer.
  14. :) We just won the Hyatt MCO for $85 + tax. Sept 26-27 2 adults, 2 children 4* shuttle fitness pool restaurant business hsia I used your HOTWIRE link. Thanks!
  15. Yes, this is a great hotel and in the end its location was my deciding factor, especially with an almost midnight flight arrival. Won the Hyatt MCO for $73 + tax! :) used your HOTWIRE link. Thanks! details: 4* MCO area shuttle fitness pool restaurant business HSIA
  16. I can't find a match on your HW hotel list: 1 adults, 2 children Aug. 29-30 2.5* MCO area $39 + tax amenities: Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool High-speed Internet Access I see the Hyatt MCO for $91 incl tax. Wondering if it's worth the extra $ compared to the above hotel. Just need a clean place to sleep for the night. Thanks for your help.
  17. This was tempting until I stumbled on the Hyatt Place direct thru their website for only $80 (had to prepay though.) Rooms are newly remodeled and includes breakfast for all 4 of us which is a great value. Thanks again. I appreciate all of your help.
  18. Can you ID this Vegas hotel please? Searched 1 nt. 7/12/08-7/13/08 2 ad. 2 children 4* Near Strip East $64 Best Value Casino Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa TA rating of 3.0 out 5 460+ ratings as of March 08 I don't see an exact match on the hotel list. Thanks for any help.
  19. thanks for your help. I think we'll stick with our off strip reservation for now. (got the Renaissance for $110 w/no fee for kids.) If I find Treasure Island for really cheap on HOTWIRE, I'll be sure to use your link. thanks again
  20. We will be staying 1 nt. in Vegas (7/12) before our stay in Sedona. I have found what I believe to be Treasure Island on Hotwire for $209. I can get it direct from TI for $189 but they charge an additional $30 per person if there's more than 2 per room and we have 2 children, making it $249 + tax. Does anyone know if you purchase thru HW, would they charge me the additional $60 at check in? or do they just accept our reservation as "pre-paid?" Thanks! btw, I know there are better deals on the strip but we'll be seeing a late Cirque show @ TI and would be convenient to just walk to our room after.
  21. People on the disboards have reported that the Hyatt MCO is now 4* with these amenities: shuttle fitness pool business restaurant HSIA I would go for it!!
  22. :) Won the Pelican Grand Beach Resort on HW for $134.00 ($153.35 incl. tax/fees) I'm happy; our direct reservation with AAA discount was over $308. I'll gladly give up the oceanview to get it half price. 1 night, 2 adults, March 5-6 3.5* Fort Lauderdale Beach Area Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, HSIA Customer Favorite and Best Value Thanks for your help!
  23. While this is a discount, it's not exactly a Hotwire steal. (I can get HI Exp. w/AAA for $197.) This is a special birthday trip so we're booked with the Pelican Grand Bch Resort pre-cruise (direct, AAA rate) but my practical half wants to find something cheaper since it's only for 1 night. hmmm.... I think for now I'll keep what I have. Thanks for your help!!
