  1. Thanks for the tips. I remember that Miramar is one re-bid zone. Are there any others?
  2. Thereuare, My $55 bid was for September 2003. For this cruise, I will need 3 rooms, and the current consensus is not to exceed a $90 bid per room. If this is unrealistic, please let me know. Thanks!
  3. I need 3 rooms at a precruise hotel in Fort Lauderdale for 12/18. Have gotten Embassy Suites in the past for $55. Is there a reason why I don't see any posts re: Embassy Suites? I need any advice on a good precruise hotel (3* or better) and how to go about bidding. Thanks!
  4. It worked. My bid of $70 was accepted for the 4-star Renaissance Harborplace Hotel for 4/9/03. Taxes are $8.63, and total charge is $84.58. Thanks for your help.
  5. Thereuare, You are right. I checked Expedia, and the closest zone appears to be the Inner Harbor. Downtown would be a second option for me. I have a refundable reservation made at the 4* Wyndham Baltimore Inner Harbor Hotel for $169. I look forward to hearing your bidding strategy. Thanks. :)
  6. I would like to reserve a room at a 4* hotel near the Kennedy Krieger Institute, which is part of the Johns Hopkins Hospital. It is located on North Broadway in Baltimore. Any information on hotels, bidding zones, and bidding strategy for a one-night stay on 4/9/03 would be most appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the info, BurBunny. I went ahead and purchased my airfare today.
  8. Do any of you travel experts out there have any ideas on what effect the war will have on airfare for flights within the United States? I plan to fly in September 2003. Should I wait for fares to decrease, or are they more likely to increase? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. I appreciate all of the info and advice in all the replies. I do not have a firm date yet in June, but I am now looking toward trying a bid for a 3* and hope to get the Sheraton. I also now know to steer clear of the Marriott, which is actually the hotel my travel agent was planning to reserve for me. Thanks again. :)
  10. I am looking for a nice hotel (4* if available) in Ventura, CA for a 1-night stay in late June. Any information on hotels available through Priceline would be most appreciated. Also, any advice on bids would be great. Thanks.
  11. Do you know if Priceline or Hotwire can help with hotel or resort rates on Kiawah Island, SC? If so, any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
  12. Thereuare, The bragging already has begun. By the way, I found this site much more helpful than others I came across. Thanks again.
  13. Having never used Priceline, I perused the postings on this website earlier today. I then made a bid for $55 for 3-star hotels in downtown Fort Lauderdale for 9/6/03 for one night. I instantly found my bid was accepted. Taxes are $5.17, and the total charge is $66.12. Thanks for your help :)
