  1. Success!!!! Select 3.5* Downtown... Bid $35, accepted, Hyatt Regency Arcade, 3 rooms 10/31/09-11/1/09 Fabulous!! Thanks so much for all the help!
  2. Before I bid on Priceline for our stay tomorrow, can you help me ID a downtown Cleveland hotel. $54 4* Cleveland (Downtown) Hotel Amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby
  3. The amenities are not all that important to us. I've noticed that a lot of people have gotten the Hyatt Regency Arcade for $35/night or Marriott @ Key Center for <$60/night recently and either would be perfect! Based on the Priceline Hotel listing on here, all 3.5 and up hotels in the downtown zone are less that .5 mile walk to Arena.
  4. I would prefer Priceline w/ a 3.5 or 4.0 star rating and would like to stay under $60/room. The most important would be to stay w/in walking distance of the Cavs arena. Other than that, amenities are not a huge concern.
  5. Millenium Park/Loop/Grant- 4* - $70 Rejected Add Skokie - 4* - $72 Accepted Palmer House
  6. We are going to a Cavs game to watch my niece's dance team perform and need to bid on a hotel in the downtown area preferably w/in walking distance of Quicken Arena. Would like some help bidding. Thanks!
  7. O.K. I bid as follows: NMA - 4* - $75 Rejected Add Skokie - 4* - $76 Rejected Add Lincoln Park - 4* - $77 Rejected Add Midway - 4* - $78 Rejected Add O'Hare South - 4* - $79 Rejected Now what?
  8. You've been so helpful, I'm going to bug you with a couple more questions. I'm just trying to get all the information I possibly can before making a final decision. Prices appear to be rising on Hotwire so I'm flipping back and forth between going ahead with Hotwire or trying our luck on Priceline. I received a Trip Watcher e-mail this afternoon with a 4* @ $87/night in Mag Mile area and when going to Hotwire, it shows $123. Is it likely to keep going up or do they sometimes drop closer to the date if not booked? On the calendar of wins for Priceline, it appears that it is split almost 50/50 between the Hyatt (where we want to be) and the Hilton (which isn't ideal) between $60 and $80/night. Do you have an educated guess or feel based on what you have seen on which one is more likely? Is that even possible? If I go the Priceline route, what would the bidding strategy be? I really want to stay under $100/night total ($83 bid price) if at all possible. Thanks so much!!!!
  9. The dates are 6/19 -6/21. We cut a day off our trip because of the other couples' flights. We would prefer to be no more than a 5-10 minute walk from the Sheraton. The closer, the better. If the 4* is now @ $103 and the 4.5* is $109, we might as well go with the 4.5* but our preference is really the proximity of the hotels more than the price at this point.
  10. We are leaving for Chicago Friday morning and were waiting until payday today to get our room. It appears that the prices for the 4* - likely Sheraton or Hyatt are going up. Any idea on the likelyhood of them going down in the next couple days if I wait or am I better off just going ahead and getting it at $103? We are going with people who are staying at the Sheraton Chicago Towers and want to be as close to them as possible.
  11. That is awesome info!! Thanks so much!! I've always wanted to stay at the Intercontinental anyway. I'll keep you posted!
  12. O.K., here's the situation. The other two couples we are going with are staying at the Sheraton Towers with the free points they have accumulated. We realize that it is going to be virtually impossible to get the Sheraton for a reasonable price in comparison to what we'll get elsewhere. It appears that most are getting the Hilton for under $70 for that weekend and a few are getting the Hyatt Regency. We are only staying two nights, 6/19-6/21 and we need one room. We would like to stay under $70/night but would be willing to go higher if someone can suggest a way to get the Sheraton for under $100/night (obviously not through Priceline or Hotwire). The lowest nightly rate I've found anywhere else is $195/night and that just isn't an option. Any suggestions???
  13. I need help on bidding for 3 rooms in a 4* or better downtown Chicago hotel for June 19-22. We want to be as close to Michigan Ave. as we can.
  14. It was for last night and tonight. Since they were standing over me waiting to leave, I went ahead and bid: 4* Downtown Detroit area - $80.00 Rejected 4* Added Taylor Southgate - $85.00 Rejected 4* and 3 1/2* - $86.00 Won Omni Detroit River Place They are there until tomorrow and they said the hotel is really nice. Thanks!
  15. Responded to both threads. I would like to get them any rate below $100/night in the downtown Detroit area.
  16. Did not bid through Priceline or use Hotwire for this stay. We ended up going straight through the hotel for a special package.
  17. Successful bid $53/night @ 2* Tacoma-Fife Extended Stay America.
  18. My husband is going to Detroit tonight for a concert tomorrow and wants to stay in the downtown area. They want to be close to the People Mover, Fox Theater and the casinos because they don't want to have to drive while they are there. Any suggestions on bidding? It appears that if a bid is accepted for a 4* hotel it will be either the Atheneum, the Hyatt at Ren Cen, or the Omni. The Omni is a little far from where they want to be (about 2.5 miles) and they aren't keen on walking that in Detroit.
  19. We had reservations at the Amalfi Hotel for a great rate in downtown Chicago to send our husbands for a guys weekend but it appears that we need to move the trip up to this weekend due to schedule conflicts. We would like the following: Dates: 1/12/08-1/15/08 Star Rating: 4* or better Price: Anything less than $100/night. We have $112/night at the Knickerbocker through Travelzoo Area: Downtown Chicago/Magnificent Mile only Need two beds but I realize that we may have to work this out directly with the hotel. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  20. Dates of stay are 9/8-9/12. Interesting information about the parking. I hadn't realized that. If we have to pay for parking, I'd like to keep the room cost under $50/night. For a 3*, the Red Lion did not get good reviews at all on Hotels.com.
  21. Previous Dates at Shiloh Inn (2*) 3/21-3/27, $53/night thru Priceline. We would prefer to stay somewhere between the Airport and Fort Lewis which would be Tacoma (1st choice) and Auburn/Federal Way. We can go as far as Renton/Kent or the Seattle Airport area if absolutely necessary but would prefer not to.
  22. Previous Dates at Shiloh Inn (2*) 3/21-3/27, $53/night thru Priceline.
