  1. When you know the dates, please post. With the exception of Bike Week and the 500 weekend, plenty of decent inexpensive hotels here.
  2. The Intercontinental Hotel site which includes InterContinental, Holiday Inn, and Crowne Plaza, has a drop down bar on the reservation page so that you can check the Entertainment rate and book it online.
  3. To all of the TOBB banned club-WELCOME I have been banned for several months, and quite frankly don't care. I have posted numerous posts here and hopefully helped many others in securing bids and figuring out a bidding strategy. I support this board and encourage others to do the same. Some of the posters to this board are "travel and price experts", though I am not one of them. I continously learn from the posts and thank thereuare for all of his help and mostly for the civil professional manner he moderates this board.
  4. bid $38, rebid at $45, finally accepted at $50. It appears the MCO hotels have raised the PL threshhold because of insurance and others still in Florida because of the hurricanes.
  5. I know it is very early to book for March, but some hotels were showing availability problems. Took a stab at $60 and it was accepted. Seems like a great price and reviews of the hotel were glowing.
  6. Kosmos-See my bidding for Dearborn Hyatt in Dec. in another post. It appears that since my $58 bid was rejected and the $60 rebid was accepted, they may have a $59 or $60 bid acceptance policy for that hotel. I am just guessing and assuming your bid for Oct. and mine for Dec. had the same availability. I really wanted the hotel and made a bid for Sun for my wife as I think FFN will start again by Dec. A $55 bid was rejected but $60 rebid was accepted for the Sunday.
  7. Originally bid $50-rejected but offered counterbid of $17 more, rebid Southfield at 58-rejected. added Downtown and won at $60.
  8. Stayed one night. Very nice hotel at the renovated Union Station train terminal. The most impressive lobby ever in a hotel. Check-in was fast with no PL mentioned. Two parts to hotel, one are old room renovated that are large with decent views and nice marble bathroom. Had a TV in bathroom by sink which seemed silly. Restaurant was very good and the hotel has an enclosed mall with various shops including a microbrewery. Overall a very impressive hotel and would stay again even without PL rates.
  9. Sometimes the bid wins at 38-42. Still a good deal. I would try again.
  10. You may want to try the Financial District. We stayed at the Hyatt (see review) and were very pleased. About a 5 min. walk to the Common, and a T station is 1 block away. There is a Filene's and Macy's around the corner along with the downtown shopping. Comes up on PL for $40-50 if timed right.
  11. stayed there recently. Shuttle from all the terminals to the hotel. If you are arriving by T, you can call hotel to pick up at the T station or take T transit to airport for hotel shuttle. From hotel, you can take shuttle to T station. Not much around hotel, but the restaurant is decent and has excellent views, You can also take the water taxi to Long Wharf direct from hotel for $10.
  12. Have stayed there before and you should be pleased. On weekends the center atrium gets noisy. Ask for a room facing out and you should be fine.
  13. Had a 2 night stay at the hotel. No mention of Priceline at checkin. Thanks to Daimond status, was given larger corner room. Room was very large with sofa, desk and chair. Bed had feather top matress and feather pillows. Excellent views on higher floors. TV was very small though. Nice public areas with big health club and indoor pool. Location was superb, around corner from T station, with Macy's and Filene's around corner. Some restaurants nearby and staff was excellent. Only poroblem was design of hotel. Lobby is on 3rd floor and you must change elevators to leave building. Other than that, excellent hotel, with great staff.
  14. You are very welcome :) That is how the board is supposed to work.
  15. Welcome to the banned by TBTOBB. We're a growing club. Don't worry about violating any rules, etc. Stay with this board and enjoy a kinder, more gentler moderator who is also knowledgeable and helpful. Other members of this board actually help too.
  16. Holt2ju is exactly correct. I always recieve Diamond treatment at Hyatt with Priceline stays. Remember to give a Mastercard upon check in for credit in the Faster Free Night promotion. Most incidentals charged to the room will qualify. Getting a free night for every two stays is the best deal around. Hyatt is the best for these promotions.
  17. I like the way you have divided California. By leaving the state in the main page, you then go to the Hotwire/Priceline breakdown for the city. When you breaksown other states, follow the same as Calif. I would suggest that after CA and FLA, other countries would be a good place, given all the bids for London, vs the rest of the world. It would also give more time to decide what to do with the state breakdown as Europe doesn't have Hotwire. Thanks again for all your help. I have consistantly told people about your page, both in person and on other web pages. :)
  18. Tried for the 5* up to $150, but got shut out. changed to 4* and got this hotel right away. Excellent location, about 50 feet from tube stop. Should be fine.
  19. Accepted on first bid. If incidentals are charged to room with Mastercard, qualifies for FasterFreeNights promotion.
  20. I have been trying to snag a 5* Aug. 13-15 and have been rejected up to $120. As I have learned just be patient and inventory opens up. Once stay is broken up, you should be successful. Good luck.
  21. Hotel has free shuttle from airport and is about a 10 min. ride. Open atrium of 12 stories. Room is large with separate sitting area with wet bar, couch, and TV. Bedroom adjoins with nice new Sheraton bed and TV. Rest of the room is somwhat dated, but was clean and comfortable. Check in was professional and no mention of Priceline. Atrium has restaurant with decent, unexceptional food but fairly reasonable prices for hotel restaurant. Bar is located off the atrium. Overall, quite a nice stay at PL rate of $42, for night after arrival or before taking off from ORD.
  22. Won after several tries and rebids. See REJECTED post for history. Was previously rejected up to $85. Continued to bid weekly until won. Inventory must have just been released.
  23. FINALLY, got the Hyatt Financial District for $40 7/9/04 and $55 7/10/04 for 2 rooms. Split up bids and probably overbid for Sat. but still happy. Saved over $100 per night. Moderator, if you want me to post separately as to winning bid let me know. Thanks for your help and the help of others! :)
  24. thanks, I will try that. I have refundable res. at the Hyatt now.
  25. Bid $55, rejected, counteroffer of $70, rebid $60. Stayed here before, great hotel and easy access for flight the next day.
