  1. Accepted at first bid of $70 through the PRICELINE link. I had bid SOMA and USE at the same amount before but was rejected. Looks like prices are going down closer to the date. I had previously won the Parc55 at $85 for the same dates.
  2. Accepted on my first bid :) . This is so cheap, I don't think I have overbid by much.
  3. Started at $75, received a counteroffer of $105, accepted at $80 the next day, bid through the PRICELINE link. Now I must call them to give us two adjacent rooms.
  4. Rejected at $115 with counteroffer of +$22. Accepted at $117. :) Best rate on their website was
  5. I have recently been to SFO and I don't think the 4* hotels in the SOMA zone that have been reported are in any way in a questionable area. Most of them are around the Moscone center. I found that all of San Francisco's downtown area had much improved since I was there last time (which admittedly was 15 years ago). If I were you I would include that zone. And again HOTWIRE might give you a pretty good idea what you might expect to win via PRICELINE.
  6. Bid from $70 up in $5 increments using the PRICELINE link from this site. Accepted at $85. A property with the same amenities as this one (according to the list on this website) was available on HOTWIRE for $99. Best rate on their website was $179.
  7. Happy to report a new hotel to the Boston hotel list. First bid $80 through the BB PRICELINE link, rejected. Rebid $90 including Copley Square (like a free rebid), accepted: Doubletree Club Boston Bayside 2
  8. Bid myself up in $5 increments starting at $70 , accepted at $85. 2rooms. Total with fees: $206.86 Best price on website $216/night/room Bid through sb.com
  9. Bid myself up in $5 increments starting at $60 plus $10 bonus cash, accepted at $75+$10. 2rooms. Total with fees: $367.04 Best price on website $197/night/room
  10. Hmmm, three different hotels in three nights. Anyways: Bid myself up in $5 increments starting at $80 through sb.com. Succesful at $100 ($120.99 with fees). Hotwire had what I assume is this property (fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, customer favorite) for $143 that night. Best rate on their website was $245.
  11. Bid myself up in $5 increments, starting at $90 through sb.com. Accepted at $125. $149.45 with fees. Best rate on website was $229 + tax. Hotwire had this property at $183 + fees and taxes. Interestingly, I had bid the same zone and date the day before and did not get anything up to $130. At this time Hotwire also didn't offer a 4* hotel. This goes to show how sometimes they release inventory to priceline and hotwire relatively close to the desired date. Unfortunately the add a night feature aagain did not go through. So I will keep on trying for the next night.
  12. Started at $80 and bid myself up in $5 increments using the numerous rebid zones in SD. Bid through savingsbbarn.com. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $95.00 Subtotal: $95.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.19 Total Charges*: $115.19 Best rate on the website $269 Tried to add the following night at the same price but was declined :-( This is the Marriott Gaslamp Quarter by the way. Thereuare could you please edit the topic? Thanks!
  13. No, I needed a second room for a colleague for one of the two nights I had already booked for myself at the Marriott. The "extend your stay" feature was available but no use in this case. "Add another room" would have been helpful. But, I am sure he will like it anyway, especially at this price of 52Euros. You stayed there, right?
  14. I wanted another room at The Marriott but this came up. At least it is right around the corner. First bid through SavingsBarn.com. Your Offer Price: US$60.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: US$60.00 Taxes and Service Fees: US$16.52 Total Charges: US$76.52
  15. The Renaissance again. Bid $60+$5 bonus cash. Accepted at first bid throug savingsbarn. Should have started lower but expected their priceline rate to have gone up with the recent decline of the dollar.
  16. Since you have tons of time left, I would recommend to start even lower at about $60. You can bid 3 times every day using the city centre zones as rebid zones.
  17. As this is during Oktoberfest and Oct 3rd is Germany's national holiday I wouldn't be overly optimistic about this one. But others have been successful even during Oktoberfest., so give it a shot. Any of the hotels reported in Munich so far are close to public transport so you should be fine at any of these. The airport zone is indeed way out there. But if you get the Airport Marriott you would still be close to the train which would take you downtown in about 45 minutes.
  18. If you decide to go for it, I would suggest to select the highest possible star level (4* in this case). This might give you a better chance to receive a hotel that is not too far off. Priceline's non-oblique hotel offers might also give you a clue what to expect. I wouldn't expect the price level to be very high in Bucharest. Good luck!
  19. I know, can't beat the price. This hotel is perfectly fine. Only that I have stayed there a few times before and was hoping for a change. Somebody reported the M
  20. First bid of $55 rejected, counteroffer of$70. Added East, $57 rejected. Next day, bid $60 accepted. Had previously bid 5* up to $100, rejected. Bid through savingsbarn. Frankfurt Marriott Hotel 4-star West Hamburger Allee 2-10 Frankfurt, Germany Check-In Date: Thu, Nov 22, 2007 / After 06:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Nov 24, 2007 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$60.00 Subtotal: US$120.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$27.31 Total Charges: US$147.31 Best rate on their website was
  21. Boy, it sure took me a while to get this booking done. Not quite what I had in mind originally, but what a deal. And a new hotel for this list: Courtyard By Marriott Dusseldorf Check-In Date: Tue, Sep 11, 2007 Check-Out Date: Thu, Sep 13, 2007 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$50.00 Subtotal: US$100.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$19.10 Total Charges: US$119.10 equalling about 86 Euros or 43/night. Best AAA rate on their website is 159 Euros/night. :) This was my first bid at this star level and for this zone. I was surprised to see this one come up as in the "shop and compare" feature on priceline the Holiday Inn Dusseldorf-Neuss had shown up as the cheapest at $128. Before I had bid 5* Duesseldorf Central from $80 up to $130/night using Duesseldorf West as a free rebid zone. I also bid 4* in both zones from $50 up to $75. No luck. Bid through SavingsBarn.com
  22. Seems like a good deal you got yourself there. To get to the airport from your hotel you don't even have to go to the Hauptbahnhof. You can rather take the S-Bahn S8 from the Rosenheimer Platz station which is about 100 yards east from your hotel. Find your timetable info here: MVV Muenchen Enjoy the Oktoberfest!
  23. Stayed here for five nights in Feb 2007. I can only agree with what the poster above wrote. I might add that the Internet service at the business center is ridiculously expensive and slow. There is a small internet cafe at the grocery store next door which costs about Can$3 for 30 minutes. Or bring your laptop and surf for free at the BLENZ coffee place at the next street corner. They also serve good coffee. What I liked: Excellent central location. Free in-room coffee. Decent pool. Friendly staff. The grocery store next door which also carries plenty of deli foods. The Air Canada check-in kiosk in the business center - very convenient. What I didn't like: Not much, really.
