  1. I reported this win (first time) several weeks ago. It has the appearance of new renovations and my stay was excellent. Be aware, the "hotel garage" charges $42.00 per day for parking, no in/out allowed. We found on-street parking for the rental car but read the signage very carefully as San Francisco cleans their streets daily (or so it seems) so they have signs posted as to which days of the week they clean (and it is different for each "side" of the street...) go figure???? Anyway, after 7PM they don't check the meters and you have to have your car out of there by 7 AM. There is also a public parking garage directly across the street from the lobby of the HILTON and is only max of $25.00 per day so you can mix the kabuki dance of meter parking with the garage accross the street. By the way, I was on the 11th floor and heard everything on the street from "Taxi whistles" to folks throwing trash in dumpsters at all hours. Try to get a room as high as possible to avoid the street noise. PS... 1/2 block to the left looking out of the lobby and across the street is a ZAGAT rated, excellent, Chinese restaurant oddly named R&G Lounge. Waited 45 minutes for a table..... AND IT WAS WORTH IT!!!! Let everyone know how your stay goes... Aloha, Keoni :)

Bid $85, rejected added re-bid zone... Bid $95, Congrats, you won!!!! Hilton Financial District for the period 16 March - 20 March. $95 x 4 nights = $380.00 + 65.80 tax/fees. I used the "add a night feature" and added on the 15th to the front of the trip for $95.00 + $21.47 in taxes and fees. All in for 5 nights comes to $562.27. As always, started my trip at the Barn... This appears to be a new win for priceline and it does not show up in the PL list for San Francisco nor is it on the PL Map for SF. Address is as follows which puts it in the Union Square East zone: Hilton San Francisco Financial District 750 Kearny Street San Francisco, California, United States 94108 The down side is they charge $42.00 per day for parking, valet or self... :) Regards, Keoni :)
  3. I followed the bidding strategy above from start to finish on two different attempts. The third time through on the final round, ["USE, USW, FW" + rebid zone 3] I increased the bids by $5.00 and on the final bid of $95.00 I hit for the Hilton Financial District for the period 16 March - 20 March. $95 x 4 nights = $380.00 + 65.80 tax/fees. I used the "add a night feature" and added on the 15th to the front of the trip for $95.00 + $21.47 in taxes and fees. All in for 5 nights comes to $562.27 so stay with the strategy, it works.... As always, started my trip at the Barn... :) This appears to be a new win for priceline and it does not show up in the PL list for San Francisco nor is it on the PL Map for SF. Hilton in the Financial District Regards, Keoni :)
  4. Your post says you started in Waikiki North at $70 and added two rebid zones, Ihilani and Airport zones.... Uh, So how did you win a hotel in Waikiki South???? :) Aloha, Keoni :)
  5. Last year I had Vegas, NYC, Hawaii, and DC/Northern Va. books because I wanted the coupons as well as the card discounts. I used the cards interchangeably and was never questioned about the origin and although the registration numbers on the cards were quite different, all the cards were the same color and exactly the same format, look, and feel. I also was disappointed to discover the $30 Hotwire coupon had been reduced to $10.00. :) Regards, Keoni :)
  6. Also don't forget the frequent shuttle service to/from the Happiest Place on Earth!!! Just returned from a 4 night stay here and all the folks that worked at the HI Express went out of their way to speak to us, remembered our names, made one special drop at Disneyland when we missed our shuttle due to Rental Car problems. All in all, a first class establishment and my next vist to Mickey will be via HIE in Garden Grove!!! Regards, Keoni :)
  7. StuartC88, Here is another tip for saving money in California... Go Here This site has combination discount tickets that cover the 3 cities in California you are going to visit. Note that the Southern California CityPass bundles; a 3-Day Disneyland

  9. Check this out for more info on the Garden Grove Holiday Inn Express. Regards, Keoni :)
  10. Just doing my part to help keep this board going. I figured that since I was going to visit Mickey anyway, I might as well nail down the unknown property for the OP because they were looking at staying somewhere for almost a month and now they can make a decision on whether to go for it or change to some other property. Regards, Keoni :)

  14. Giftcard06 is still working as of 6/27/05. Regards, Keoni :)
  15. This hotel shows up twice in the HOTWIRE hotels won under the packages section. Now that it is a confirmed win you can delete the two Princess Kaiulani entries in the packages section in favor of the new entry in the Hotels won section. Regards, Keoni :)
  16. Forgot to include Amentities: Customer Favorite Hotel Near Beach Restaurant Pool Laundry (Self Serve) :)
  17. 4th of July Weekend was proving too tough on Priceline so I changed tactics and after 3 days of frequent checking on Hotwire, scored the following: Requested Hotwire Room for July 3 - 5 checking the following areas: Waikiki Near Beach Waikiki Beach Front Waikiki Beach Side Waikiki Water Front Waikiki Central Various options came up from a resort at $390 per night (Hilton Hawaiian Village) to a best buy 1* at $58. I opted for the following: Waikiki Near Beach, 3*, $134 per night x 2 nights + taxes/fees $39.95 original total of $307.95 However, rather than book both nights I placed two one night bids with the same criteria and won the hotel for both nights as follows: July 3-4 $126.00 + Taxes/Fees $19.95 = $145.95 - Entertainment Card discount of $30.00 result $115.95 Switched browsers and used my Spouse's account (first time) July 4-5 $115.00 + Taxes/Fees $21.95 (notice higher T/F for lower price??) total $136.95 - $10 Giftcard06 and - $30.00 Entertainment Card total $96.95 :) Grand total $212.90 Preceeded both bids by opening the browser at SAVINGSBARN, closed, re-opened using the Entertainment Card link for HOTWIRE so BB should still receive the crerdit. Love this place! Regards and Aloha! Keoni :) Although this seems high for a Waikiki 3*, this weekend has higher prices than I have seen watching this board for over a year! Glad to get a room!
  18. Continued to bid 4* up to $175 and am changing strategy. I was successful on Hotwire and will post the win over there. Regards, Keoni :)
  19. I am open to any suggestions for a bidding strategy. I have bid up to $70.00 for a 3 * and $130.00 for a 4*. Regards, Keoni :)
  20. Followed your link and bought 5 entertainment books, at $9.95 I couldn't pass them up! Hope this helps keep the board going! Regards, Keoni :)
  21. :) Thanks Theruare! Here is a new hotel to report... Radisson Old Town 901 N. Fairfax Street Alexandria, Va. 22314 Removed the first night as you suggested and hit on my first try... 3* Alexandria - Mt. Vernon 3/24 - 3 - 27 Congrats! Your bid of $45 dollars per night for a 3 Star was accepted! $45.00 per night x 2 Rooms x 3 nights = $270.00 + 47.26 fees = $317.26 Please note in checking with the hotel they have shuttle service to the King Street Metro and Reagan National Airport Metro, your choice. Also, they charge $10.00 for open air parking but there is available on street free parking. A micro fridge and microwave oven are available for the room for an extra $10.00 for each item. I tried to add on an extra night on the troublesome date of 3/23 but was rejected. If I score someplace else for the 23rd I will start a new thread. As always, used the Barn... Regards, Keoni :)
  22. Still trying... 3/15/2005 Bid for 2 rooms as follows: 3 * Alexandria/Mt. Vernon $45 rejected, added Springfield (free rebid) $51 rejected, added Crystal City $52 rejected, added Arlington $55 rejected, closed browser reopened browser, 2.5 * Bid Alexandria/Mr. Vernon @ $60, rejected Will wait 72 hours. Any advice as $60 is probably the limit... Thanks and regards, Keoni :)
  23. Luveurope, Yup! During your visit it will be a tad busy as they have this little shindig called... the 2005 Cherry Blossom Festival March 26-April 11. Not sure if you planned your trip for that but it only happens once per year so make sure you bring your camera! :) Also, according to the Hotel's website they ask $10 per night more if you upgrade an internet rate room with a single queen size bed, to either a room with a King and a pull out couch, or a room with two queen beds. Sounds like using this information could be a good bargaining chip to get your room changed. Regards, Keoni :)
  24. :) Boy is my face red.... I stand corrected. I previously used a program running in the back- ground that checks multiple hotels at once and it erroneously reported no pool icon for Best Western and Pacific Marina. In fact, all three airport hotels match the 4 icons listed by hotwire (Shuttle, Pool, Restaurant, Laundry) which makes it impossible to guarantee the identity of the property. A guess would be that since Best Western The Plaza has high speed internet, and the Honolulu Airport Hotel has wireless internet in the lobby and meeting rooms, the Hotwire property is most likely the Pacific Marina. Sorry for the confusion. Regards, Keoni :)
  25. Ok, Once you lock in your dates post back to the board with your desires for lodging amentities and a bidding strategy will be recommended. Also, as soon as you determine dates for your flights, email to your Senator for those reserved White House tickets. I think it takes 90 days in advance but you can check that out. Also, if they set you up with a tour of the capitol, you can pay a fee and have a flag flown over the building the day of your visit with an appropriate certificate to commemerate the event. Pretty special if I do say so... Regards, Keoni :)
