Try to find out if the hotels are running some special rate for this convention. If they do, ask about the deadline for booking the convention rate. I guess your best chance to get a cheap room is when the hotels release the unsold rooms hold for the convention rate. If this is the problem in this case.

David - Priceline can upgrade you to a resort. I can't answer if the resort qualify as *better* than 4*

There is a big music releated convention called NAMM that weekend at the Anaheim convention center.

Your original booking must be 2 nights if you want to stay 3 nights. You can't add more nights then you have in the first booking. (You can't add 2 nights if you only have 1 night booked from the beginning). And please be aware that PL can decline your request for an extended stay. And PL can give you a diffrent rate also for your extra night.

The Hilton in the Disney resort area offers the free transportation system and the extra magic hours at the park. And it's right across down town Disney. You can get the Hilton for good money on priceline when it's "off seasson"
