I bid $110 on priceline which was refused for a 4star hotel in the above time. Message came back telling me to bid $140 on rebid, which I did as I didn't want to take a chance on 3 star in White House/downtown. Bid went thru at $140--a decent deal as the cheapest room on the Marriott site at that time is $410.

Greetings, used the board to access Priceline date June 23-1 nite Bid 1 $52 for 3* in Asheville --refused but offered $15 inc. which I declined Bid 2, added Biltmore Mall region (no 3* listed), bid $60--accepted $14.42 taxes and service fees--total $74.42 Doubletree Biltmore Very pleased as it gets great reviews. You seem to have identified them properly. As I did not make a bid on Priceline at this point, I don't really know about those. We prefer to be on the left bank, and particularly don't want a hotel in the Opera area. We like the Villa Luxembourg but got a much higher price. For now, we are booked into a hotel Le Muguet in the 7th where we typically stay. Will switch if a goodie comes up though. Please keep your ideas coming. Many thanks.

Hi__I am fairly new to the board and am somewhat confused as to how u use TripAdvisor to further define the hotel on Hotwire. If one is not certain of the hotel itself, how does the TA rating help? We are trying for hotels the long w/e of March 27-31, but have gotten very expensive responses on HW so far. Thanks for the board and your help.

Greetings, We recently got a room at Country Inn and Suites at Charlotte I-85 Airport location, identified before bidding by this web site. We appreciate the help of the site in identifying the hotel before accepting, but would like to warn others that the Hotwire rating of 2.5 stars is a bit far-fetched. The place is dump, sort of like an original Day's Inn, old tired sheets which didn't fit, cracked walls, tiny bathroom and disinterested front desk clerk. Have written to Hotwire indicating that the place is a one star at best. We suggest avoiding this property. It was no bargain.

Amenities shown were shuttle, restuarant, pool, fitness, business, laundry. The most helpful clue was that internet access was not shown as a "free" amenity and your list showed it the same way. A prior better bidding board member had indicated that there was a $9.95 charge per day for internet--indicated that the rate for the room was good but the internet cost was additional. I appreciate your help, :) once again.

Thanks so much for the amenity list for Hotwire properties--we matched the Hotwire results listing to yours and was pretty sure the $62 property was the LAX Hilton. We got 2 nites from July 8-10 for $62 +tax and service and added a mid-size rental car (AVIS) for another $17 a day--whole deal for 2 days hotel and car for about $180 including all charges. We are delighted--we had been staying in Santa Monica for a ton more. THANKS!
