  1. You'll find this funny. When I got my car, it was a Chevy HHR :). I got to stop renting mid size veichles :). At first, I was thinking of trading it because I was uncomfortable with it, but then I adjusted some stuff, and it was okay. I might of traded it at a sattilite station, but I would of gotten a crappy car. ~JS
  2. Nice hotel, great staff, they even let you earn gold points (btw sign up for it!!). Downside, I felt was that it was in the middle of no where (a good walk to get to anything), no free breakfast, and their shuttle service is unreliable. I stayed there, I believe 3 years ago. ~JS
  3. Its a nice hotel (#1 on Tripadvisor I believe), but it wouldn't offer a free breakfast. The is however a nice breakfast/lunch joint nearby building that is being totally renovated. Great breakfast. I believe there is also a Panera, nearby too. ~JS
  4. I rented from Alamo recently, midsize I beleive, and was given a choice of three colors of a PT cruiser. I took it, and both my wife and I laughed at it. :) ~JS
  5. Okay, you'll hear it from me then. I had an Avis car rental once, from a gas station, and they gave me a car, where it looked like someone ran the back corner of the bumper into something. Because of that, the trunk had a hard time closing. Good thing I had it noted on the contract, because they never charged me for it. I think they gave me that one, because I was ending up at the airport. ~JS
  6. I am wondering. I am going to rent a midsize at Dulles, in D.C., but I'm going to get in a little late. So I rented a midsize, and they present me a huge gas guzzler, or a car that has been in a minor accident, can I refuse it, and ask for another veichle. Or am I bound to whatever they give me? ~JS
  7. Oh I forgot to post that I used savingsbarn too. Regular Avis rate was 95.96 :) ~JS
  8. Well I almost pissed my pants when I got this priceline rate. $11 a day!! Here's the info: Your Offer Price: $11.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 2 days Subtotal: $22.00 Taxes and Fees: $11.12 Total Charges: $33.12 Lowest Published Price: $119.98 Total Savings:* $86.86 (You saved 72%) Saved $13 total from my lowest discounted rate for Alamo. My sister should be thrilled, since she will pay for it;) ~JS
  9. What status is that, because I blew points for a two night stay at a Holiday inn near Toronto, and I'm on the executive level. ~JS
  10. It surely is a scam that they charge you for water you don't use. Especially if they charge you if you use it or not. You would think they wouldn't charge you if you didn't break the seal, because you are actually saving them money. BTW what chain of hotels is this at? ~JS
  11. It was around the same time groceries were. Although I think it got dropped first and then groceries with in a year after. ~JS
  12. I remember this coming out, like 7 years ago, and then they have rid of it. I hope they bring it back sometime, but I doubt it. ~JS
  13. $40 Bid rejected $42 Bid accepted 2 1/2* Holiday Inn I-35W Sept 15th-16th Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $42.00 Subtotal: $42.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.51 Total Charges*: $54.51 Going rate is $107.10, so almost 1/2 price not bad. My Corp rate is $79, so about $25 saving there. ~JS Added: Holiday Inn Bloomington Airport 1201 W. 94th St. Bloomington. I also used the Savings Barn link.
  14. Actually, I have two rebid zones for 2.5 in the cities. Fridley and University Metrodome. I'm starting out, so wish me luck. ~JS
  15. Cheapest (of course) is best, but it doesn't matter which ones. So any price suggestions? Last time (a while ago) I got Park Plaza. ~JS
  16. I'm just hoping for one, thats all. If I don't get one, I can always drive to the mall. The Hotwire ones are good, but I would like to go a little cheaper. Maybe $40-50. ~JS
  17. Hoping something with a shuttle, so I can take it to the mall for the light rail for the Twins game. Any suggestions. :) ~JS
  18. Best of luck with that as it has had some really bad reviews. ~JS
  19. Nope, no wins. Reason, is that I get a very good discount from my work (Wal-Mart) and priceline/HOTWIRE, scares my wife. :) :) ~JS
  20. I know the gist of both, but I was wondering. Do you book in USD and do they charge your credit card a currency conversion charge (as if you used your credit card over there)? ~JS

  22. I hope you liked it. The Sheraton is in a creepy part of downtown, by the casino. Actually had someone follow us for a couple blocks from there. ~JS
  23. There is a new Wydham hotel in dtwn minneapolis. Located in the old F&M bank building. So that could be your 4*. I looked there the other day, rooms running $3-400+. :) ~JS
