  1. **** Club Quarters hotel for $176.00 per night Three nights (September 7-10, 2017) Eventually got the room in the Financial district area the winning bid was $176.00 per night + Fees of $43.00 per night. So the total for 3 nights was $657.99 (September 7-10, 2017) ($219.00 per night). The winning bid was at the Club Quarters which is also part of the World Center Hotel. Its a no frills hotel but was a great location. Clean but very small room. I did find watching express deals that I would have been able to perhaps gotten the deal cheaper had I waited until that day and either bid on PRICELINE or taken the express deal. The rates dropped big time the night before my trip. One lesson that I have learned is that you have to pay attention to the fees being charged by services like Priceline or Hotwire. If you get the Club Quarters / World Center Hotel it has a great 20th Floor Bar / Restaurant that overlooks the WTC memorial site. Make sure you go up there and take a few pictures.
  2. Best I have seen today is a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal in the Wall Street area for $153.00 Problem is the hotel is a 4. Star with a 70% rating by guests. 1100 verified guest reviews What site does the guest review? How can I pin down the hotel. There is a 4.5 Star now for $176.00 4.5-Star Hotel Downtown - Wall Street 9+ Guest Rating 600 verified guest reviews Strange even with the 5% BetterBidding discount the fees for that area are about $44.00 per night. How did the fees get so high on express deals?
  3. I guess that particular time frame the rates are going to be very high. Not sure what even might be in the City from Sept 7th - 10, 2017. tried the same bidding strategy and nothing.
  4. Tried the bidding Strategy again this AM. no bites. It must be too early. I did compare this weeks Express deals and noticed how they dropped on Wed or Thursday for this weekend and will always keep that in mind if I can't get a good rate until that Wed before my trip. I would rather have this resolved before then but it seems that rates really take a dive on Express deals the day of or day before you need it. I know that week can't really be to busy in NYC as there is a holiday 3 days earlier so business travel will be off that week. I did also use the 5% code in my bids.
  5. Ended up with PRICELINE EXPRESS deal $140.00 per room back in 2016 doubletree metropolitan midtown
  6. Been watching and trying to bid just this zone for Thursday 9/7/2017 checking out Sunday 9/10/2017. Have tried several time over the last two weeks to get a better rate tha PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals. Using your bidding concept of free zones I have not been close. Trying for a 5 star went up to $160.00 Trying for 4 star went up to $140.00 using zones 17,18,19,24,30,29, 28 26 as free bid zones. Went then to 3 star up to $140.00 using the same free bid zones. 17,18,19,24,30,29, 28 26 as free bid zones I have seen express deals for about $140.00 that are for the weekend before. Do I just need to wait and bid the day before I want it. Seems that is when they drop their rates. Wall Street on a weekend should be cheap but I know my stay begins on a Thursday so that might be why I can't hit the right rate. Any thoughts? Staying in that zone due to son living there. I used your click thru to bid.
  7. I just got an email from Hotwire that says: Times Square South 4.5 STAR HOTEL Fri.07/01 - Wed.07/06 Your original price: $312 per day/ Now $156.00 per night. I wonder what hotel that might be in Times Square South. Your list shows that might be the: Intercontinental Times Square The Premier Westin New York at Times Square. All three of the look good. It says book soon Last person got the Premier in NYC. The hotel lists the follow amenities: Free Internet Pet friendly Boutique hotel Fitness center Restaurant(s) Spa services Accessibility
  8. I would name your price on PRICELINE if I could get below the rates that PRICELINE EXPRESS booking has.
  9. Ended up not booking on Priceline but renting two condo units at Atlantis. Never could get booking on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE for this trip in 2010
  10. My price range is $125.00 per room per night up to 175.00 per room per night. I am coming to visit my son who will be an intern for a financial company. He is staying at 80 Lafayette Street which is Tribeca. We can stay any were and don't need to have the hustle Bustle of Times Square. During the day he might be at work park ave at 40th street. So MTE would be ok too. Aaron I have noticed on express deals some sub $100.00 hotels in the 4 start range? How could that be? Also on Express deals there are some (I took Screen shots that I can post if there is a way to post them). 4.5 Stars in the Soho/Tribeca , $168 4.5 Stars Chelsea, $189 4.5 Stars Midtown East $155 4.5 Stars Times Square $158 4.5 Stars DT- Wall st. $141 4.5 Rockcenter/ Bryant park $90.00 This can't be right? 4.5 MSG -- Convention center 166.
  11. Aaron that Nassau hotwire was from 2010? Is that relevant today? lol....
  12. Been watching for several weeks the Rate for several areas of NYC over the July 4th Holiday. Are hotels in that time frame busy? Seems that folks in the NYC financial markets head for vacation during that week before and week after the July 4th Holiday. Is that correct or my imagination? Need to book 2 rooms 4* or better. Prefer the Chelsea / Tribeca area, Then Hearld Square, Soho ,MTE, Empire State building and lastly Times Square or Times Square South. Would accept the Times Square South zone if I could get the W at the price it has been showing.
  13. Been trying to get a Mid-town or Times Square, Chelsea area hotel. Been bidding it for about two weeks with about 8 Zones. I guess that this will be ok but not the best of the wins that I could have had in NYC. I wanted to be close to Chelsea so this works. $135.00 per night Thursday May 19- Sunday May 22, 2016 Used the PRICELINE link at this site.
  14. Tried three zones on Priceline and got this hotel. Not my first choice but a good rate since you have to pay for parking in San Francisco. The hotel savings will go for the overnight rate on the car. Hotel is located at 545 Post Street. Hopefully a cheap car park nearby vs the $50.00 valet.
  15. Staying overnight in SF for one night Saturday from about 11 am until Sunday 3:30 pm. Need to park a car close to the hotel but want to do it for less then 50.00 per night any tips on what zone to bid for a hotel 3.5 or 4 star hotel in the Downtown area.
  16. I called the hotel and was disapointed as they stated there would be a charge of $45.00 for a 3rd person staying in one of the rooms. Frankly it really get me upset as there is nothing on Priceline or the hotel site regarding this extra fee. Would have bid a 3rd room to avoid the hassle of a disapointment. Now if I bid another room my odds of getting another hotel is good. Any thoughts? The resort fee of 14% based on what rate? The paid rate to Priceline?
  17. Used the PRICELINE link and bid for two nights. I tried a couple of times two weeks ago and nothing today. I bid and got the Caribe Hilton for one nights at $111.00 for two rooms pre-cruise. We are a family of five traveling. Two adults and three kids, 23,,21, 17. Do you think that we need to arrange ahead for a room with a Double beds and pull out? give me some advise if you have stayed at this hotel before. Also is it better to arrange for a van from the Airport to the hotel? Does the hotel charge a resort fee? Thanks,
  18. How do you find out what Hotwire has for a **** Four Star hotel/ resort in Nassau Bahama's. Shows the hotel is a Resort on the beach . but you can't tell anything more. Do you think this is the Shearton or the Hilton. I am tempted to buy but I want a good set up as its for 3 rooms for the family over Christmas. Does have a note that there is a resort fee "AROUND" $25.00 Per Room per night. Any Ideas on hotel? I don't find where anybody on this site has stayed at a 4 star but many have thought it was the Shearton or Hilton. Here is what the listing says: 4-star hotel in Nassau and Paradise Island This hotel features the following amenities: Resort Resorts offer a complete destination experience. Facilities generally include a spa or fitness center, one or more swimming pools, and superior dining options. 19. What dates are you staying there. Looking for next week during the NCAA games. Have bid the Downtown and the OKC North zones up to 115.00 and that inclueded 5 free bid zones. May be too tough to get a room during the NCAA tourny next week. Any bidding advice. I have two back up rooms at a Hyatt place in North OKC for 95.00 per night. But really want to stay in the Bricktown area.
  20. What dates were you trying to get. I am wanting to go next week during the NCAA but really want the Bricktown area. Tried bidding up to 120.00 on most of the zones for the 3.5 zone but not sure I want to bid where your staying. Reviews of the Crowne Plaza have been avg.
  21. Priceline & Hotwire Policy on Cancellation for H1N1 flu on Hotels. I wonder if anybody has seen any posted rules on refund if a traveler is sick with the flu. I'm sure both Hotwire and Priceline does not want to infect the general public by forcing a person with the flu to travel. You would hope they would either offer refunds or defered travel. Has anybody seen their posted policy now that President Obama has declared a national emergency on the H1N1 flu.
  22. Looking what zone is best to bid so I can be near the Mandarin Oriental Hotel 1330 Maryland Ave SW Washington, DC 20024 October 27 - 29, 2008 It looks like to me the Zone 3 the Capitol Hill-Convention Center would be a good zone as the Hyatt Shows up alot for $65-$85.00 per night. and as a 2nd Zone being Zone 11 Whitehouse-Downtown. This is for a lady who didn't want to pay the Mandarin rate of $375.00 per night. So I want her to be close enough to not feel put out if she has to cab to the meeting and back. Any thoughts. Does the Old Lowes L'Enfant Plaza ever come up on priceline? I know that DC cabs are very reasonable so that shouldn't be an issue other then its her first time to DC.
  23. Need help finding a reasonable one way rental! Looking for best ONE WAY CAR RENTAL rate from Kansas City, MO (airport or other location) to the Indianapolis, IN Airport. Last year I rented from Avis and had a 140.00 rate including miles. This year the rates are up to 350 with miles. How do I find a good Rate with no miles. I used this link from another thread but the rate was billing out miles at .40 per mile (ouch!). https://www.Avis.com/AvisWeb/reservation/Re..._NUMBER=C031529 Any tips or coupons you all know about. Thanks :)
  24. Sorry it was for May 19 - 21, 2007. I couldn't take the risk of it being a cruddy hotel so we just booked the Hilton Garden Hotel in Overland Park.
  25. Is this the hotel on Reeder drive at 87th Street. (old Ramada inn) Would you consider this a *** star hotel? Is it a Holdiday Inn or a Holiday Inn Express.
