Thanks AaronJB I decided to go with $130 4* Union Square West that appeared when I went back. Resort fee was less so for an extra $10 a night I decided to go that path as it had a better tripadviosr rating to the east 3.5* Ended up getting The Clift Royal Sonesta Hotel. Happy with the purchase - I found it for $210 so $80 savings - great value. Thanks again for the advice and I used the betterbidding HOTWIRE link to purchase. Cheers!

Hi There Looking at visiting San Fran 3/12 - 3/14. Hotwire have a hot rate 3.5 stars union square west $110. I'm travelling by myslef and just looking for something clean around union square east/west, civic centre, SOMA area (so pretty flexible). Should I lock this in now or wait closer to the date for a better rate? I will use the links from betterbidding when purchasing from hotwire. Cheers
