  1. Exact area was Downtown - Convention Center Amenities: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services 95% Recommended (496 Reviews); Tripadvisor (100-300 Reviews) 4/5 rating. When selecting, Hotwire noted the last person got Hilton Austin (not that I put a lot of stock in this, but just fyi).
  2. This was on PRICELINE EXPRESS. Amenities listed: Non smoking, fitness center, business center, restaurant. Had a guest rating of 9+ and low number (40+) of reviews. Price directly through hotel was around $105. Used a coupon that was emailed to me, also.
  3. Resort, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Beachfront hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Children's activities AccessibilityAccessible path of travel, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible parking Note: Bid up to $209 on Priceline with no luck (even with bid being $1 more than Hotwire, had I gotten it on Priceline for $209, the total w/fees and taxes would have been about $22 less than Hotwire).
  4. Bid between $175 - $209. Hotel had a HOTWIRE rate of $208 for these days. Even with bid being $1 more than Hotwire, had I gotten it on PRICELINE for $209, the total w/fees and taxes would have been about $22 less than Hotwire. After exhausting my bids, purchased from HOTWIRE for $208/night.
  5. Amenities: Resort, Free parking, Suite, Casino, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center,Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services Accessibility: Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility,Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  6. 5 star - Free parking, Resort, Suite, Casino, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby "10 out of 10 Amazing", 95% approval rating. Showed Venetian as the last hotel someone got. Thought for sure it was the Venetian. Really prefer the location of the Venetian, though I know Encore is really nice.
  7. Resort, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Spa Services. Booked 10/4 for one night to make sure it was the Westin Diplomat. This time, it showed recommended by 95% of reviews. Went back and did another booking for 10/5 - 10/7 and got it for $95/night. However, this time instead of having the 95% recommendation, it said they were still gathering reviews for the property. The rest of the amenities were the same.
  8. Sorry...didn't check this until I got back. I booked the hotel directly.
  9. UPDATE - Gave it one more try. Started at $75 for 5* in Carefree and Resort in North Scottsdale. Went up to $125 with no success. That was last bid.
  10. Started bidding downtown for 4* at $55. Went up to $66 with no success. Started over with 3.5* DT at $55. PL countered, wanting me to go up to $64. I bid $60 and got the Hyatt Regency Downtown.
  11. The Fairmont and Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch both have specials via numerous sites for buy two nights, get the third free (Hyatt includes breakfast). This ends up being an average of $132 - 143 for both. At a $115 bid on Priceline, I was saving about $50. I felt comfortable that the Fairmont would be the only option for a resort in North Scottsdale. However, I did not want to bid for Scottsdale, where the Hyatt is, because I figured I would most likely get the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center, which is a chance I am not going to take. So, I will probably do the Hyatt directly through their website.
  12. Bidding for May 26 - 29. Started at $75 for Resort in North Scottsdale. Went up to $115 with no success.
  13. One bid - $39 for Indy East, 2*. Accepted at Ramada East for 7/16/10 - 7/18/10. 2 Rooms; bidding was done on 7/15/10. Previous post notes that I unsuccessfully bid on 2.5 - 3.5* for Indy East, starting at $38 for 2.5, up to $61 for a 3.5.
  14. Bidding for two rooms. Wanted Marriott East. All bidding was done on 7/15/10. Started bidding on East 3.5 at $47; stopped at $61. Checked Hotwire and saw $159 for Marriott East. Checked Marriott's website later in the day and saw that there was no availability...moved on to 3*. There are two bids for 3* - Bid $48 and $57; no luck. Went to 2.5* - Figured LaQuinta East would be most likely choice. There are two LaQuintas on the East side; their direct prices were $56 and 61; 2.5* on Hotwire on East side listed for $44. Only get one bid, so did not want to go too high. Worst case, I could get 2.5* from Hotwire for $44. Bid $38; no luck. Decided to take a shot at a 2*, though I was actually hoping to not get it. Bid $39 and got the Ramada East. Not excited about it, but I did save some money...don't plan on being in room very much.
