  1. Hello -- yes the above was a different search. I get different results on my laptop vs. my phone. Also, the Hotwire Canada site gives me different choices compared to the USA site. I am looking for 4* +, city is Cancun, zone is whatever-- it doesn't matter--all zones are fine. I have not put in room rate per night, but up to USD$300. Dates are Nov 23-20 for 2 adults and 1 child. I am not searching for a specific hotel; I'm just looking for a deal in the Cancun area. I tried the searches again today, but I still get lists with adults only resorts in them--one was Desires, which is known to be a swingers place...lol... I will have to stick to ones that specify children's activities if I go the Hotwire route. Thanks again May
  2. Hello -- yes I used the algorithm. After I did my search, it gave me the best guess as Dreams Riviera. However, the other choices given are Breathless & Secrets, adults only. The details are Resort, Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Spa, Childrens Activities, Free Parking, Food and Beverages, Premium Beverages, ala Carte, Water Sports, Evening Entertainment, Daily Activities The children's activities tell me that it can't be Breathless or Secrets. However, some other hotels do not list children's activities at all. Thank you for all your help. I will continue looking and perhaps limit my choices to just resorts that list kids. 😀
  3. Thank you so much for your answer. I am looking for Nov 23-30 for 2 adults and 1 child. I just put the information into Hotwire again, and although I indicate 1 child, I still get "Your Hot Rate hotel is guaranteed to be 1 of these 4." The 4 listed are Fiesta Americana..., Le Blanc (adults only), Secrets The Vine (adults only), and Turquoize, which is also adults only. Therefore I should deduce that the only possible hotel they would give me is Fiesta Americana....at least that's what I hope.
  4. Hi there -- I have been looking on Hotwire for all inclusive resorts in the Riviera Maya area. I am looking for 2 adults and 1 child. When I click in the description, it gives me the message that my hotel will be one of these 4. However, I noticed that one of the 4 listed is Secrets, which is an adults only resort. I include 1 child in my search but adult only hotels show up in the guaranteed 4. Does anyone have experience with this? My fear is that I will end up buying an adults only hotel even if I say I have a child. Does Hotwire make the connection that if you are travelling with children you shouldn't get an adult resort? Thank you for reading. May
  5. Thanks--ended up going to Vancouver instead. I have posted my Hotwire win.
  6. Just got Element Metrotown Hotel on HOTWIRE for CAD $103. Listed as 4* hotel. Amenities: Free breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Kitchenette
  7. I have answered my topic re: Elmhurst. Lynnwood, WA, November 25-28 USD $106 2.5 stars Full Amenities as per BiddingHelper.com: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby Wondering if this is Holiday Inn or other? Again, no 2.5* hotels listed, just 2 or 3. Any leads appreciated.
  8. Never ended up going to Elmhurst. Did an apartment in Jersey City instead.
  9. I'm using Hotwire to book a room from 11/25-11/28 in Lynnwood, WA and HOTWIRE is showing a rate of $133 for 2.5* Boutique hotel. Amenities include Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Free Parking, Business Centre, Fitness Centre, Indoor Pool(s), Pool(s), Smoke Free rooms. My first instinct is to guess Holiday Inn, but is Holiday Inn considered a Boutique Hotel? There are no 2.5 star hotels listed on this site, just 2 and 3. There is another hotel listed for $77/night at 2.5* with the same descriptions EXCEPT Boutique. Thank you in advance.
  10. Hello, I've clicked on both links and performed the same search using the HOTWIRE link you provided. I hope that I've done everything right here--I have appreciated using this website very much in the past, and would like to continue doing so. Please let me know if you can offer me any help to ID the hotel above. Thanks again
  11. Hello All, I'm trying to find reasonable accommodation in the NYC area April 1- April 5. I was offered a 3* on Hotwire in the Long Island-Elmhurst area (not listed as an area on this site). The amenities are complimentary breakfast, fitness center, business center, high speed internet. It is offered at $103/night. Thanks again!
  12. Hello, Thought I'd share this win with you since it doesn't appear to be listed in the current hotels. The amenities were Fitness Center and High-Speed Internet--that's it. Hopefully it will be as good as the reviews.
  13. Hi All, Just a quick message to mention that the Pacific Palisades Hotel in Vancouver no longer exists. It is being converted into condos. It was listed as a 3.5* hotel in Vancouver Entertainment District.
  14. This is an FYI in case you are not aware, the Pacific Palisades hotel no longer exists in Vancouver, BC Canada. They are turning it into condos. What a shame! Great place, especially if travelling with pets.
  15. Hi All, I booked Pacific Palisades hotel in Vancouver, Canada last weekend, and they took our dog with no problem at all. We stayed there in May 2009 but paid full price and booked by phone. At that time, they were a very welcoming pet-friendly hotel. It seems that even though we booked through HOTWIRE this time, they were still wonderful with the dog. Thanks
  16. I am wondering if anyone has had experience booking a hotel through Hotwire and bringing a pet. After doing some research, I have discovered tht many Hotwire hotels are pet-friendly. However, if booking at the cheaper Hotwire price, has anyone had trouble bringing a pet, even if they are willing to pay an extra charge for it? Any advice or experiences would be appreciated. Thanks May
  17. Thank you for your quick reply. The full amenities listed are as follows: boutique, airport shuttle, fitness centre, pool, restaurant, laundry, high speed internet, kitchenette, spa Please let me know your best guess. Cheers May
  18. Hi there, I am having trouble identifying the following hotel: 3.5* in Downtown Vancouver West Icons are boutique, shuttle, fitness, pool, restaurant, laundry, busines centre, kitchenette Listed at $75/night from April 10-13 2009. This sounds like the Pacific Palisades hotel, but it is listed on this site as a 4*. I would appreciate any information you could offer. Thanks May
  19. Hello, This hotel was indeed the Hilton Metrotown. I got it for the price above $69/night on Hotwire. I called the hotel and for $20 more was able to get a room with 2 queen size beds as opposed to the king I was originally booked in. I have not stayed at this property before but have seen it. It is listed on some other travel websites as a 4*. I called the hotel to inquire about the spa and they do not have a spa in the hotel. However, I was told that there was a spa in the shopping complex attached to the hotel called "Elle Spa." There is not a website listing so I don't know what type of services they offer. Thanks for your help and happy travels!
  20. Hello again, I am looking for a hotel 9/28-9/29 in the Vancouver area. I got a Hotwire listing for 3* $69.00 in Burnaby/Coquitlam. Amenities are fitness center, business center, restaurant and spa. It got 4/5 on TripAdvisor. Hotels that for me that come to mind are Hilton Metrotown & Holiday Inn Metrotown. However, to my knowledge these hotels do not have a spa. Any thoughts on what this could be? I'm still researching on the internet too. Cheers
  21. I took at shot at Priceline (first time trying it) and ended up with this deal: July 16-20 at Renaissance Stanford Court (4*) @ USD$80/night I checked off the central San Francisco locations only (no outlying areas) first put in a bid for$75, was rejected and tried again (same areas) at $80 and voila! got it. I'm so glad I tried this, with the "Crankiest One's" suggestion. Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the tip, Crankiest One! I also just got a fab deal for 4* in San Fran on Priceline @ $80/night. Thanks for the suggestion.
  23. I ended up not going to Vancouver on those days as originally planned. I've added a follow-up. Thanks
  24. Hello, Could you please help me identify a 2* hotel located in Union Square East July 16-20? It has been offered at $86/night (regularly $150) and for amenities has Boutique Hotel and Business Centre. It does not appear to be on your Hotwire Hotels Pinned list for SF. Trip Advisor has it at a rating of 4.0. Thanks! Maj-Britt
