  1. Hi Thanks for helping. When I asked this question there were two different 3.5 start properties available for the two different weekends, one was 142 a night, and the other 250 under Priceline Express. now the 250 one is gone, though is still shows up on other days. I'm still curious what the 250 a night 3.5 star hotel in downtown might be, though we'd have to change dates. The more expensive 3.5 star hotel now shows up on Nov 1-2 at 233 a night, it reads it is a 40% discount. It offers a king bed for 250 per night or two queens for 348 per night. The ammenties listed are Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities As for the 3.5 star hotel that shows up under PRICELINE EXPRESS on almost every date, you think its the LA Hotel Downtown. That hotel isn't listed on the Better Bidding reference? Bed Choice Business Center Non Smoking Restaurant What do you think the 233 a night hotel is? We have stayed at the biltmore before and love its old funky charm. And I've been able to get it via priceline in the past. But I might not be able to this time, I dont see it showing up, or at least not very clearly. 233-250 per night under priceline express seems hight for the biltmore. Our budget ideally would be 150 a night but I suspect we'll need to go higher this time around. We might book the Biltmore at the regular retail rate, the lowest offered, and hope for an upgrade as they usually do give one if you ask. Otherwise you end up with the recently renovated rooms which are without any charm at all. Thank you again for all your help! madeleine
  2. oh, one other difference between the two listings it the one that is available this weekend for 250 per night has an approval rating of 7, and the listing that is available next weekend for 142 has an approval rating of 8 thanks again madeleine
  3. Hi We could either go this coming weekend, November 4 checking out November 5, or we could go next weekend, November 11 checking out November 12. We are hoping to get the Millenium Biltmore. For This weekend there is one 3.5 start hotel on Priceline Express in Downtown Los Angeles. It is marked at 250 a night, it says it is a 40% discount. It offers a king bed for 250 per night or two queens for 348 per night. The ammenties listed are Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Next weekend, Saturday November 11 checking out November 12 also has one 3.5 star hotel listed on Priceline Express in Downtown LA. It says it costs 142 for a king bed or 152 for a double bed. It reads 'save 16%' The amenities listed are only Bed Choice Business Center Non Smoking Restaurant We'd like to get the Millenium Biltmore. It appears the two 3.5 star hotels are the Sheraton and The Millenium Biltmore. Which do you think is which? What do you think? Thanks!!! Madeleine
  4. Hi, I am looking at priceline express for October fourth through october 5. There is one 3.5 star hotel listed and I'm trying to determine whether it is The Millenium Biltmore or the Sheraton. The amenities listed are very few. The only thing that kind of stands out is there is a 'bed choice' in the reservations area, for a king or a double. What do you think? Any way to determine if this hotel is more likely the Biltmore or The Sheraton? Thanks! Madeleine
  5. Hi, My dates are September 24-28th, they always have been. I I wrote something else it was a mistake. I'm sorry. madeleine
  6. hmmmm the four start for 141 on hotwire says its has a 95% approval rating and is a boutique hotel. Wonder what that one is? and where is that 95% approval rating coming from? Hotwire? TripAdvisor? etc? madeleine
  7. HI, sorry I didn't respond earlier, I forgot I'd set up a new email address for this account. Still haven't bought anything yet. PRICELINE EXPRESS still showing a four star with those above amenities for 133. HOTWIRE EASY VIEW shows a four start for 141 with these amenities: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower also on Hotwire Easy view is a four start for 146 a night with these amenities: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking I keep hoping the Millenium Biltmore is going to show up but seems its not going to, so I'll have to bite the bullet and buy something for the 24th thru the 28th. Do you guys think the boutiaue hotel for $141 is The Standard? Thanks! Madeleine
  8. I was hoping there might be more options as my dates approach but that doesnt seem to be the case so I need to make a purchase shortly. What do you think a four star hotel in downtown los angeles, on PRICELINE EXPRESS, 132 a night and listed amenitites are Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center likely the westin or the standard? thank you again Madeleine
  9. I will definitely let you know when I am ready to make a purchase and what the results are. Thank you so much for helping me.
  10. I am thinking of waiting a week or two and try again. Does that make any sense, will there perhaps be new hotels offered? We don't need the room til the 24th of September.
  11. I will have to take what hotel I can get. But I would like to try and figure out what is available if I can. The first option on Hotwire Easy View is listed for 138 a night, has four stars and is in Downtown Los Angeles, and has these amenities: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking The second Hotwire Easy View option is 148 per night, is in Downtown Los Angeles and has four stars. the amenities are: FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Condo, Boutique hotel, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Spa services, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom There is an option on Hotwire (not easy view) that is 131 per night, is in downtown Los Angeles and has four and a half stars. The listed amenities are: Pet Friendly, Smoke-Free rooms, Fitness Center, Pools, Restaurants, Business Center, Internet Access. There is also on Hotwire (not Easy View) a four star hotel in downtown Los Angeles, 154 per night, with these amenities (and recommended by 45%) Free Internet, Condo, Boutique Hotel, Indoor Pools, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self-service Laundry. Priceline Express has the following: A four star hotel in downtown Los Angeles for 132 per night with the following amenities listed, Business Center, Restaurant, Indoor or outdoor Pool, Fitness Center And a second price line express option is a three and a half star hotel, in Downtown Los Angeles, for 118 per night with the following amenities lsited. Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Fitness Center. Do you have any ideas on which hotels these might be? I'm guesing the priceline express four star is The Sheraton. Thank you! Madeleine
  12. Hi Better Bidding, I think I should apologize before I get started in case I do this incorrectly. I have read the FAQ's and the Getting Started Thread, please bare with me. I am flying a friend out to Los Angeles, the dates I need a hotel are September 22nd checking out September 28th, so five nights. I was hoping I could get the Millenium Bitlmore for around 135, but because Priceline has several 3.5 start hotels in the area with similar amenities, and Hotwire doesnt seem to have anything that matches the Millenium, I think I'll probably have to settle for getting a good deal at a different hotel , (could you take a look and see if you see anything that looks like the Biltmore?) I know that its a little fool hardy to try and get a specific hotel, but you can't blame a girl for trying. Priceline has a four star in Downtown for $138 as a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Any idea what that might be, The Sheraton? Hot.Wire has a four star hotel for $140, but it has free internet so that isn't the Biltmore. Maybe The Standard? Any help would be super appreciated! Madss
