  1. Thanks for all your help. Ended up using priceline and after a week+ battle finally got a bid of USD175 accepted. Mixed reviews on tripadvisor and on priceline esp with the small rooms but hopefully the good location makes up for it. Thanks again Suraj
  2. Yea, it was rejected at with all these zones at 195. Seems like the prices have come down today? Can you help ID this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer? 3 Star Hotel in Civic Center South - South of Market Area for $161/night Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center I have a hunch its the Holiday Inn Civic Centre - what do you think? Thanks

  4. Hi Aaron, Yeah, I've realized hotel prices in SF are as bad as NY. To be honest, I've not had much success with bidding. I've bid $195 and have not been successful. What sort of bidding strategy would you recommend? Are there any PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE deals that you can recommend as well? Thanks Suraj

  6. Hi there, Just looking for some advice and suggestions for a hotel (3* and better) in the the San Fran downtown/union sq/Embarcardero/Wharf area. I've noticed a few people getting 4* hotels for around $110-$120 in late Nov/Dec. In my searches so far, I haven't found anything even close to these prices. Just after any advice on the best possible deal/bargain for a good hotel in San Fran for those dates. I have a budget of around $175/night but hoping to get something for less if at all possible. Thanks Suraj
  7. Thanks for the tip mate - will check it out. Will move on towards booking accommodation for the rest of my trip now (San Fran, Napa Valley, LA, San Diego) - I'll create new threads for these. Suraj
  8. Thanks all for your help - I ended up booking the following: "Midtown West - Hell's Kitchen area hotel" at $187/night through Hot.wire and got the Holiday Inn Express Midtown West Hotel Amenities Free breakfast Free Internet Fitness center Business center Internet access Thanks Suraj
  9. Damn - you're right - It's gone. Any other suggestions for a really good bargain around the Midtown/TS/CP areas? Happy to look at 3* star options now as well? I'm hesitant on the 4* suggestion that was previously suggested in the thread because the mandatory USD 22/night fee is so unnecessary. I'll be booking 2 rooms as well so I'm trying to find a better deal. Thanks Suraj
  10. Hi, Can you help ID this one from Price.line: 3 Star Hotel in Times Square - Theatre District Area - $171/night Guaranteed Amenities: Restaurant Fitness Center I've checked the hotel lists and etc I'm guessing its the Tryp by Wyndham Times Square. What do you think? I'm leaning towards booking this instead of the other 4 star suggestion based on the review, provided this is most likely the Tryp by Wyndham. Thanks Suraj
  11. Hi, Thanks for your help thus far. Just wondering if there are 3* star hotels you'd recommend as a good bargain which may fall within my budget? If not, I'm just going to go ahead and book and hope I get the Wyndham New Yorker. I've read the reviews and I'd be quite happy if I get it. Thanks Suraj
  12. Here;s the full list of amenities: Alarm clock Business center Cable television Coffee/Tea maker Complimentary full american breakfast Desk Direct dial telephone Elevators Exercise gym Hairdryer Handicap rooms Ice machine Iron Safe deposit box Vending machines Wireless internet connection
  13. Hi, I can't remember any other amenities, I copied and pasted the entire list I had. I notice the hotel above charges a mandatory fee of USD 22/night in addition to the rates. I've noticed Resort Fees when I did my Vegas booking but didnt realize this was in effect in NYC as well. Is this normal or just for this particular hotel? No desire to sta in the same previous hotel and would rather stay in a different area for the additional nights and the preference is for CP, Midtown and Times Sq or anyone in that region. Do you reckon that this is the best possible deal to score for those dates even with the mandatory fee? Thanks Suraj
  14. Thanks it's the Comfort Inn Financial District - 154 Madison Street, ChinaTown Lower East Side, Suraj
  15. Hi, Just after some help and recommendations for a 3.5/4* star hotel in NYC in the the Midtown, CP, Times Square or even Upper East Side areas. Travelling in a party of 4 so will need 2 rooms for the 2 nights from 03/11 to 05/11. Just after the best possible bargain like everyone else. Thanks in advance Suraj
  16. Thanks for your help. Ended up booking a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal at $189/night in Lower East Side inc Free Breakfast. I chose this area to avoid areas which will be affected by the NY Marathon on 01/11. Was hoping to get the 3.5 star Wyndham but ended up getting the Comfort Inn. Pretty disappointed with the result based on the reviews on tripadvisor. Ended up booking from 31/10 to 03/11. Will now try searching for another hotel from 03/11 to 05/11. I'll start another thread for that. Thanks for your help Suraj

  18. Hi Guys, Just sharing a win. Here's a list of the Hotel Amenities: Resort Free parking Free Internet Casino Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Golf nearby Spa services Suraj
  19. Hi, It's pretty odd then. I'm searching in USD as well and referring to the rates before taxes. Have a look at the following link: <link removed> For $219/night from the 31/10 to 04/09 I'm getting a hotel in the "Empire State Building Area" at 80% recommended. - This can't be the Broadway area hotels you mentioned? On the Holiday Inn in East Village, I'm getting it at $197/night - East Village - Lower East Side Hotel at 100% recommended. Another question I had was, is it better to perhaps wait a few more weeks before locking down accomodation down through sites like Priceline/Hotwire. Will there be better deals closer to the date of the stay in your experience? Thanks for the assistance Suraj
  20. Hi, Thanks for your reply and suggestions. The hotwire options look pretty good although the prices I'm getting are around $15 or so per night dearer. Do the prices on hotwire fluctuate daily? Do you think there's more savings to be made with the priceline bidding option in your experience? Thanks Suraj
