  1. Sorry, I just updated the previous trip. For the current trip, the one you mentioned in midtown east might work. I'll check it out.
  2. We used Hotwire and ended up at The Westin New York Grand Central. Rate was $161, taxes and fees $48.36, resort fee $29. Total after resort fee (paid to hotel) was $238.36.
  3. We are planning to spend one night in NYC on 6/22/19. We have tickets to an off broadway show. When searching hotels online, some are sold out. I've been looking on HOTWIRE for a good deal. Wondering if we should book asap, or should we wait and book last minute? Since some hotels are sold out, I wonder if that's a really busy weekend and will prices go up as we get closer. Thanks for any tips.
  4. Thank you! We'll consider those options or may decide to pay more...
  5. Desired budget would be under $200, but hoping to book when I can find the best deal. I guess I was spoiled because last time I went to NYC we stayed at the Hyatt Centric for $120. Rates seem to be a lot higher now. Do you think we should wait until last minute or is that risky since it's a holiday weekend?
  6. I'm looking for a hotel in NYC on 3/31/18 for one night, two adults, two children. I'm not blown away by any of the prices I'm seeing. Are rates higher because it's Easter weekend? I've typically had good luck using Hotwire for last minute bookings. Do you think we'd be safe to wait, or will prices go up given that it's Easter weekend? Thanks!

  12. It was Homewood Suites! Thanks for your help! I booked it for them and used the HOTWIRE link from the BetterBidding site.
  13. I'm helping my parents find a hotel and they want to be close to the center of town. If it's not Homewood, could it be Aarchway Inn? Can Archway be ruled out? I'm afraid to tell them to book it and if it's not Homewood (which would be good), if Aarchway would be too far out. Thanks!

  18. Couldn't make a decision and now there aren't as many choices. It seems our dates are more expensive than other weeks (July 16-19). Is something going on that week? 19. We're going to be sight-seeing, would like a good location to get around the city easily. Ideally, we'd like a 4 or 4 1/2 star hotel. Looks like we'll have to spend a little over $200. Would spend up to $230 or so if it was a great hotel. Basically, we'd like the nicest hotel we can get for the best price. 2 adults, 2 kids (11 and 14). Pool would be nice, but not a necessity. Thanks!

  21. Thank you for the info! I'll try to find it by going through better bidding. In the meantime, how much is the hyatt per night and how would I identify it? I looked up the James and the Hyatt and I like that they Hyatt has two queen beds instead of two doubles, which the James has. What's your opinion of the Drake and the Palmer House? Do you see those as being options during my range of dates (July 16-19)? Thank you!
