Pretty sure first one is Hyatt at the Arch but stumped on the other. Marriott does not have as many amenities and not sure about Hilton. Thanks in advance!
  5. Looking for answers to same question, espeically the 3.5* Myrtle Beach North Area condo. My dates are October 15-16. Could this be Kingston Plantation Condos?
  6. Just got back and loved our stay here! Stayed in the Balboa building overlooking the golf course. Children loved the nearby pool. Room was clean and comfortable. Parked on Back Bay Drive (to avoid the $19/day parking fee) and walked through the back gate up the little hill to our building. Staff was courteous.
  7. Started at $45, went up in $5 increments. Hyatt Newport Beach Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $60.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $120.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $24.20 (USD) Total Room Cost: $144.20 (USD) So I will be hotel hopping! I had my wedding reception at this hotel almost 22 years ago, so it will be fun to stay there again. I had tried on Wednesday & Thursday nights earlier this week up to $75 with no luck. Noticed a big price drop on Hotwire yesterday (Friday) for these two nights in the area, so had a hunch I would finally be successful today (Saturday). Thanks again for all the info on this board!
  8. 3.5* Crowne Plaza Resort Anaheim (Garden Grove) Mar 22-25, 2011 Offer Price Summary Bonus Cash Per Room, Per Night: $6.67 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $49.00 Total Offer Price Per Room, Per Night with Bonus: $55.67 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total Charges to your Credit Card Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $49.00 Subtotal: $147.00 Taxes & Fees: $31.29 Total Charges*: $178.29 Started at $40. Had already tried today for 4* Disneyland North up to $70 but no success. Have been trying for about a week up to $70 with no luck Finally, success today! I used the Entertainment Book bonus cash offer ($20 off of three nights or more). A curious note...after I won my hotel, I looked up the price online at Crowne Plaza website and and Expedia. It showed no rooms available! So I called the hotel and they said they had my reservation, thus I requested two queen beds. I wonder how they can sell rooms to Priceline if the hotel is sold out?? I know hotels oversell rooms, but this seems odd. Also, there is a resort fee of $12 per day, but it includes shuttle to Disneyland and parking. We will have a car so I am okay with this. Used the PRICELINE link.
  9. Started at $95...have been trying up to $120 for a week or so for a 4* in CPS, ESB, MTE, Times Square. Finally tried again this morning adding 3.5*. For my daughter and her friend. Reviews look a bit mixed for the hotel, but basically a great location, so we'll see! Used the PRICELINE link (if I did it correctly!). The Time 224 West 49Th Street New York, NY 10019 212-246-5252 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $120.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $240.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $59.12 (USD) Total Room Cost: $299.12 (USD)
  10. Started at $45, bid in $5 increments up to $75, using free re-bids. Had been trying for a couple of weeks up to $60-$65. Really wanted the Hyatt (despite the mixed reviews!) for its location and I have two nights reserved there on 3/27 to 3/29, using a gift certificate. I tried to add two nights to the Fairmont but priceline came back with $142/night so I passed. I like Fairmont properties but have not stayed at this one. Used the PRICELINE link. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $75.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $150.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $28.60 (USD) Total Room Cost: $178.60 (USD)
  11. Started at $95, added Brooklyn @ $100. PL counteroffer for $125. Added Coney Island @ $105, MSG @ $110 bingo! Tried to add nights at beginning (March 22-24). They wanted $336 per night additional, so I declined! I will find another place those first two nights!
  12. Thanks for the info and the offer to help. After I bid, I will post.
  13. Is there a day of the week that is better to bid? A few years ago I heard of a theory where either Sunday or Monday was best because that is when the hotels look at their occupancy levels and maybe "re-set" their rates. Does anyone have better luck bidding on certain days of the week? Is there any truth to that theory? I am trying to book NYC late March for my daughter and am thinking about waiting until Monday to bid.
  14. Started at $37, added two free re-bids to end up at $41. I added $5 per night insurance for total of $46 per night. Hyatt rate is $149 for same dates. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $41.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $46.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $13.27 (USD) Total Room Cost: $59.27 (USD)
  15. I have a couple more nights to bid for my trip. so I will be extra conscience about using the board's PRICELINE link as I so appreciate all of the information I gather from this board!
  16. Added insurance for $5 per night (that's why total is $150). I wanted the Hilton, but this is okay. Reviews are mixed but it has a good location. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $70.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $150.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $26.46 (USD) Total Room Cost: $176.46 (USD) Note: I went through betterbidding link for original failed bid (Friday). Then, I got an e-mail from Priceline this morning (Sunday) asking me to try again. So, without thinking, I went through that link. Does that route still count for betterbidding?
  17. Bidding began 4* CPS at $90. Added Chelsea (free re-bid) and upped offer to $101.
  18. Tried $90, counteroffer to raise $22. Bid again adding Chelsea and raising bid to $101 (half of counteroffer). Won at $101! Was the hotel I wanted, so I'm quite pleased. Lowest rate on SPG website is $269 fully prepaid, noncancellable. Details: Room per night: $101.00 + (I added insurance for $5) = $106 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $106.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $26.38 (USD) Total Room Cost: $132.38 (USD)
  19. Started at $100, added Hilo and bid $135. Rejected with no counteroffer. Will try again soon, probably start at $135 and go to $145 (other recent win was $145).
  20. Thanks for letting me know! I will bid accordingly, maybe starting at $125 or $135. I will post my bid win or rejection when I'm done.
  21. I have not seen any recent posts for Hilton or Marriott Waikaloa resorts on the Big Island. Any info would be helpful as I am looking at bidding for a trip in November. Thanks!!
  22. I just booked Hyatt SFO for July 5 to 7. Started off at $40 (4* in SFO area), PL counteroffered $52. Added Cathedral Hill and bid $46 - success! Splitting the difference with PL usually works. Good Luck!
  23. 1st bid $100 4* OQW- Champs Elysees, counteroffer $155 Re-bid (with free zone) $110 REJECTED Will try again later, unless Hotwire shows something promising!
