  1. Car rentals are fairly standard... every 24 hours is a calendar day.

    There example:

    Jan 8 1pm --> Jan 9 11am = 1 calendar day (less than 24 hours)

    Jan 8 1pm --> Jan 9 2pm = 2 calendar days (more than 24 hours)

    Jan 8 1pm --> Jan 8 6pm = 1 calendar day (less than 24 hours)

    Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

    This is exactly what I thought and noticed on many fare compare websites,

    Jan 8, 1pm to Jan 9, 2pm is one calendar day and one hour charge. Whats hidden here, or surprise waiting at the time of pickup or drop off?

    I am looking for 2.30pm to 5.30pm the next day so technically 1 calendar day and 3 hours, but it is calculating it as one day charge only !!

  2. Hello folks,

    First time car rental bidder here, looking to rent a midsize size car (like Toyota Corolla) for a day and half at MCO.

    Rates from Hot.wire are

    Compact $22/day

    Midsize $24/day

    Standard $27/day

    Was planning to bid $15/day for a midsize car, expecting it to get around $18 from older posts here.

    Just wondering though,

    - if I am too late, that travel is just a couple of days away

    - How long does it take for the bid to process?

    - How does one do about gas fill up, before returning the vehicle. When I rented in the past, I always filled up the tank before returning. Closest gas station at MCO is 5miles away, so it won't be technically full tank, if I fill up there.

    Thanks a lot in advance

    (and glad I found this board, great board)
