  1. Mamaged to get 2 Rooms from July 17 to July 20, 2004 (3 nights) Cost per room $82 before tax and fees (total cost for 3 nights, 2 rooms $591.16) ....... Bidding History.................. Did 4 bids for 4* - Bloomsbury, Mayfair, Notting Hill and South Bank (free bid) from $71 to $91 - no luck Did 3 bids for 3* - Notting Hill, Bloomsbury and Mayfair - $ 61, $71 and finally $81 which was sucessful. .................................................... Have not seen any reviews of this hotel on the board. Anyone have any knowledge?
  2. Thanks for your insite. I would rather pay the hotel directly at $144 (extra $10 per night) than risk being in a different hotel. However, do you think there is a chance that the closer to the actual stay that the Priceline threshhold would be reduced?

  4. His rate was excluding taxes and fees. He will be there for 4 nights - starting the same time as my first night. thanks for any advise on this.
  5. Looking to get 3* for August 27th for two nights. Wishful/hopeful to get the Clarion on 5th Ave as my friend already has a priceline room there (cost him $127) I bid from $95 to $117 with no luck. Back-up booking already done at Clarion for $144 plus tax etc. Any suggestions appreciated. tx
  6. Aug 24 to Aug 27 Started bidding at $40 - Accepted at $56 3 Nights - Total $199.44 (including tax and fees)
  7. Needed 2 rooms from 3/7 to 3/10 Started at $40 and kept increasing by $5. Finally accepted at $65 per room per night ($77.85 with tax and fees) This area has tons of free bids for 4* Hotels
  8. I still however feel this was an overbid but get comfort that the hotel list price was over 100 pounds.
  9. Update: Waited another 72 hr and tried again. 1st bid - $75 - rejected - but said I could rebid for another $22 which I ignored. 2nd free bid (added Luton)- $81 - accepted (Total $102) at Arora

  12. For 10/20/03. Bid $50 for 4* airport hotel. Did not get an immediate reply, rather "check back in 15 minutes". Got Embassy Suites for $50. Tried to get downtown San Francisco (east of Union Square) - for 10/19/03 - Bid $60 for a 4*. Did not get it. Added SOMA area and increased to $70. Still did not get it...
  13. One night - October 17th. First time I used Priceline and before I found this board. Bid - *5 at $100 - not accepted. Bid - *4 at $100 - accepted. Melia White House hotel report - very nice - recently remodeled in a Victorian Style. Reservations person told me that hotel was fully booked the night of my stay and the following night.
