  1. If you can't bid for 12 rooms on Priceline, and it's a top priority to all be in the same hotel, why would you BID on Priceline for multiple rooms? What if you get 4 at Ramada, 4 at Hampton, 2 at HIX, 2 at other HIX? Priceline isn't ALWAYS the answer. Or even always an option. Isn't this a case where you would be better off deciding which hotel (outdooor pool) suits your group best and then just contact them directly for a group rate??? It may end up costing $10-$20 more per room, but is the top priority saving money or getting what/where you want all together???
  2. Sorry, the no was for the first link and the nothing was for the second. I'm using Internet Explorer although I'm not sure which version, how do I find this out? Running Windows XP
  3. Choose your battles wisely. If you dispute your charges, Priceline will probably ban you. Is it worth it?
  4. How do you have the gall to file a complaint against them? They have lived up to their end of the CONTRACT. YOU are the one who is trying to renege on the CONTRACT. While I feel badly for your situation, you alone determined the risk/reward was acceptable to COMMIT to those dates at that location. To report them to the Better Business Bureau about your circumstance is LIBEL. You spoke earlier of "Now it has become a matter of principle." To report them to the BBB is WITHOUT principle. Your actions only serve to tarnish the experiences and opportunities of Hotwire for the rest of us.
  5. Yes he did. If you read between the lines he's saying, in his low keyed way, that if you are using betterbidding then please bid Priceline US through SB and forget the foreign sites.
  6. Sorry for the delay in posting, last minute bid prior to a camping trip that week. Bid $43 received a counteroffer which I accepted due to no free re-bids and no time to wait for another bidding opportunity. Nice Holiday Inn, good value for the money.
  7. that's like having a "guest" use your toilet without having the courtesy to flush.
  8. QUOTE (betsybug @ Mar 13 2005, 10:56 AM) First you wrote: "Yes, I knew or should have known that a 4* could be upgraded to a resort. But not a 3* upgrade to a resort. PL never told me this could happen and I have never seen a reported resort upgrade from a 3* on this board or on TOBB." A day later you wrote: "I had no idea a resort could be awarded without the resort option being selected." I think Priceline would be able to use your statement to defend itself to judge and jury. You made a mistake, a costly mistake, but to blame others is wrong. The only responsible party is you. You know an upgrade is possible from any level based upon many posts here and there. You need to get over it and move on.
  9. that's true about the identification...however based on the number of hotels in cleveland downtown...pretty sure of the id's... regardless...i guess the upcoming gran prix gobbled up the rooms a bit early...oh well...we'll visit the rock and roll hof another time...
  10. hotwire shows cleveland crowne plaza and hyatt (based upon ameneties) as available however both websites now show soldout. whom to believe? particulars are: june 21 cleveland hotwire 4* restaurant/fitness $199 (hyatt) hotwire 3.5* restaurant/pool/fitness/business $146 have been bidding p/line last couple weeks with rejections and counteroffers...i'm in p/line limbo until tomorrow...last 3 bids were...$39 c$11/ $41r/$42r...these normally are within hyatt and crowne plaza low p/line rates...but if website soldout...how does hotwire have availability? until recently...webrates were available and mostly reasonable...at several known 3*... signed...curious about cleveland...
  11. Please do post your Baltimore hotel bid information. I'm betting the total cost to you (completely tax deductible or re-imbursed by your clients or company) for all the nights was less than you could have gotten for the 4 nights used. You didn't lose a thing over booking conventionally. As for your flight, United is more guilty than Priceline. It's their airline, they can do whatever they want. They chose the easy way out by saying "it's OK with us if it's OK with Priceline." My wife and I have played that game with our kids forever. Priceline won't miss your business. But I bet you end up using them again, regardless of your claim not to. The savings more than make up for the restrictions on many, not all, occassions. It's up to you to decide the risk to attribute to each trip.
  12. Nice Hilton Garden Inn. Good location for airport.
  13. You claim to be "web-savvy" and experienced Priceline bidders, but you can't figure how to post a winning bid?
  14. First bid $34 3 days ago received a counteroffer to add $9. Served my 72 hour sentence, bid $37 after receiving a $13 counteroffer bidding 4*@ $47 then 3* flat rejection @ $36. Based on rates around $70 CDN for 3* Brock I actually thought the counteroffer might be for an upgrade to 3*. Actually had hoped for 2.5* Courtyard whose rates were also around $65-$70 CDN. By the way, you listed it as 2* in the hotel list, not 2.5*.
  15. Check-In Date: Tuesday, March 29, 2005 Check-Out Date: Wednesday, March 30, 2005 Hotel Name: Clarion President Hotel And Suites By The Falls 6045 Stanley Avenue Niagara Falls, Ontario L2G 3Y3 905-374-4142
  16. First you say you knew a resort could be an upgrade, then a day later you posted you didn't know. I think you are trying to blame others for your mistake. I hope your relatives help you.
  17. all taxes are disclosed before you submit your bid giving you a total price...unless it's a resort... you should go to priceline.com and...practice...without hitting the...buy my hotel now button...
  18. You must have given the hotel that credit card when you checked in. Did you contact them and ask what the charges were for? If it were me, that's where I'd start, although it's only $9 and you got a great price of $33. But I do understand the principle...sort of like posting here. Why not post your winning info with hotel zone, hotel name, dates, and any pertinent info?
  19. I'm in the planning stages right now, Theruare, coming from MICHIGAN GO BLUE. I would appreciate the info on Hoboken, eats, happy hours etc. as well as any info on getting into the city from that area. Any info on the village or lower east side for "local" joints would be great also. Thanks in advance.
