  2. I have stayed at the James--it's great. I was kind of hoping this other one on Mag Mile was the Sofitel, as the other 4.5's in that area rarely have "childrens activities" listed. Also, no pool listed, which would seem to eliminate the only other choice that ever lists "Childrens Activities" ( W Lakeshore) Does that make any sense? Ive never stayed at the Sofitel, and kind of wanted to give it a shot!
  3. Yes. $108 with this amenity set Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Children's activities Sofitel?
  4. I did provide follow up on my post in Dec--I booked at London House. Please see the following-- " I ended up booking the London House as Ive stayed in the Westin and the Omni, and the Intercontinental before. I booked via the HOTWIRE area, and the rate was $119. I can cancel w/o penalty until tomorrow, so I will continue to monitor your site for any deal that may pop up." Thanks! Id appreciate the help with this post if you are able. Mike

  7. I ended up booking through another site ( not HW/Priceline) and got a great deal on The Thompson. I didnt feel like I could be certain of which hotel i was getting, which obviously is the "risk". I love your site and appreciate all that you do. Mike

  9. I cut and paste via BiddingHelper.com with the Easy View tab. Here's the one I think you were talking of--looks like a GREAT deal. Still think Sofitel or Hyatt?? The "Boutique" thing throws me. Now $112/night! Mag Mile 4.5* FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower
  10. Im not finding that Mag Mile deal. I show $137. Maybe i missed the window. Dammit. ;) What about these two in River North? Ivy? Palomar? $128 4.5 * FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access $132 4.5* FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access, Spa services With the free breakfast, what do you think of the Kinzie at 130/night? Ive never stayed there.
  11. I ended up booking at the Thompson as the introductory rate was amazing. i was really trying for a great hotel, and The Thompson was exactly that. Thanks for all your help! Mike
  12. Chicago Downtown River North 4* 7/8-7/10 Hotwire 4 star, 100% recc, $130, with the following amenities: Free breakfastFree Internet Amenities Business centerFitness centerPet friendlySpa services Accessibility Accessible path of travelIn-room accessibility Any ideas? there are very few listed with "Free Breakfast"
  13. Darn it. I don't see the 4.5* boutique WITHOUT a pool in Mag Mile WT any longer that you thought may be Sofitel. I think I lost out. I do see the 100% boutique again that I think may be the Thompson in this same area. Question. Are there any 5* in the MagMile River north EXCEPT Langham and Trump? I may splurge on this level. It's a big deal weekend. Thanks for your help and patience. I want to find a really special place , and if I can save a few bucks, that's even better. Any other suggestions VERY appreciated!
  14. First answer: Yes. Same dates. 10/10--10/11. I'm not sure why this is relevant given that I'm asking for very different hotels. I'm simply asking for help identifying a 5* hotel with the listed amenities, as identifying the 4.5* with the listed amenities proved tough for everyone. Now, I am asking for the likely properties given the listed amenities. I'm not sure why this seems to bother anyone. Just asking for help in an area where your knowledge far exceeds mine.
  15. I was trying to figure out the 4.5* that was 100%, but the prices have gone up to the point that I want to consider this hotel as it's not that much more. This is a special occasion, so I want a really nice spot. Any help is appreciated. 5* Mag Mile - River North $562/nite FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services Also, a question. On your page, why do Hotwire Easy View and the Hotwire tab to the immediate left of the Easy View tab not show the same hotels? Thanks again!!
  16. Its still there at 100%,but now $320. Do you have any idea which hotels this could be if not the Thompson? I sure would appreciate the help! FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access Thanks.
  17. Dates of Stay: 10/10-10/11 Its now at $282/night. Not sure where I should have posted this, if Ive done it wrong , I apologize.
  18. I am wondering if you think this is the Thompson. Ive never stayed there, but hear its very nice. Its listed at $255--it was up to 460 yesterday. id like to grab it if you think its Thompson and think thats a good spot. The "100% recommended" seems to point away from The Ivy--do you agree? On the Hotwire site it says "Free Internet". FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access Thanks, as always!!
  19. Got the Kinzie. Free breakfast, free internet, great location. Thanks for the help, I am very pleased to get this hotel as its a new one for me.
  20. Wow , Aaron! Thanks a ton. If thats The James, I would be ecstatic, as i really like that place. However, i am not seeing that at all. I really appreciate the help!
  21. Thats what I thought--no way to differentiate. I kind of guessed Hyatt as the 95% sweemed a bit high for The Omni--someone always has something negative to say about a hotel thats been around that long. I think the Hyatt used to be the Wyndham, so it has fewer reviews.
  22. There is a 4.5 in water Tower area for $165. I assume with pool in there that it has to be Omni or Hyatt Mag Mile? $165 for those two isnt to shabby.... Ive been to Omni several times, wouldnt mind trying the Hyatt. Your opinion?
  23. My typing sucks, and Im sorry. I meant to say that I would like a good 4.5 star hotel in the River North or Water Tower area. Hope this makes sense. If there is a great deal on a 5*, i would definitely consider it though--especially if it's not that much more expensive than a 4.5 star. Thanks for all your help, I hope to get this locked down soon--this weekend away just dropped into my lap....
  24. dates are 3/12 ( tonight) through 3/15. I didnt see the second 5* this morning, so it could be done. Im looking for a really nice spot--4.5* ideally, mag mile water tower, or river north area. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. ThanKS so much--I love this site!!!
