  1. I started out using the PRICELINE link, bid $100 and then rebid in $1 increments until I hit the Omni Mont Royal at $103.
  2. I've been bidding every day for the last 9 days for a room in the Lake George area the night of 4/30. Finally hit the Wingate by Wyndham Lake George for $60. Looks like a nice place and it includes breakfast. Here is my bid history: $35 $40 $45 $48 $51 $54 $57 $59 $60 (accepted) Wingate By Wyndham Lake George Lake George Area - Glens Falls 4054 State Route 9l Lake George, New York 12845 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.51 Total Charges*: $76.51
  3. Update: I started a new sequence of 3.5* bids using the PRICELINE link here: $120, Copley Sq. - Rejected $130, Copley Sq. + Aquarium - Offered "one time" rebid of $160, rejected offer $145, Copley Sq. + Quincy Market - Offered "one time" rebid of $175, rejected offer Starting bidding in 1 dollar increments using the free rebid zones until I was accpeted at $149 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. Not the best deal I've seen on here for the Sheraton but this seems to be a busy weekend with the Yankees in town and a convention. The rate through Sheraton is over $300/night so I am happy with the deal. This is for Oct. 1 - Oct. 3. Sheraton Boston Copley Square - Theatre District 39 Dalton Street Boston, Massachusetts 02199 617-236-2000
  4. I booked a room at Hotel 140 for 2 nights, which I can cancel on 72 hours notice. I'm going to wait to see if prices drop, but if not this will be an acceptable option. I'll post back if I get a bite through Priceline. Thanks for the insight into this particular weekend. I've always appreciated the information on this site.
  5. The Hilton Boston Financial District is the cheapest 4* through direct booking ($238) but that is out of my price range. I always use the betterbidding links before bidding.
  6. I'm planning a trip to Boston from Oct. 1 to Oct. 3 and am willing to stay in any of the following zones: Boston Harbor Front - Aquarium Boston Waterfront - Convention Center Copley Square - Theatre District Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - Financial I bid from $80 to $150 for a 3.5* using the free re-bid zones but no luck. This seems a lot higher than a lot of other successful bids in these areas so I was surprised not to get anything. Is there something going on this weekend? I'm willing to stay in a 3* but am also thinking it might be better to just wait. On Hotwire the best 3* is $199/night and the best 3.5* is $189. I am willing to spend $189 but would be willing to roll the dice on waiting if the price might come down in the next few weeks (perhaps with a refundable back-up). Any advice on the Boston market appreciated.
  7. Last July I bid on a 4* hotel in Boston and hit a winning bid of $95 for 2 nights at the Hilton Financial District. At check-in I was told the hotel was completely sold out and no rooms available, despite my reservation. Another couple checked in after us, but apparently they made their reservation directly with Hilton, and those reservations receive priority over Priceline. Interestingly, a solo traveler was also denied check-in, and he said he used Expedia. I was relocated to the Park Plaza for the first night and told to come back to the Hilton for the second night. After a lot of yelling about the inconvenience caused, I realized this was our only option. The only concessions made were 2 taxi fares to the Park Plaza, free parking for our stay and 2 free breakfast buffets. After 2 calls to Priceline I was able to get a full refund for the trip in the amount of $223.46. Good to know they offer refunds when hotels fail to honor their commitments. :)
  8. Which casino parking lot is closest to the Sheraton? Is casino parking $5 per day or $5 per visit? I don't plan to move my car during our visit, so this could be much cheaper. I agree that $20/day is too much for parking when the room is only $70.
  9. $70 bid accepted at the Sheraton for 6/4/10-6/6/10. Seems like a good deal for a summer weekend in AC. Sheraton Atlantic City Hotel Two Convention Blvd Atlantic City, NJ 08401 609-344-3535
  10. Started with the site's PRICELINE link. Was bidding for 4*s at $59 and manipulated the rebidding zones to keep rebidding, each time in $1 increments. At $70, $72 and $74 was asked to rebid by $22 but declined each time. Finally hit the Hilton at $77. Total with taxes/fees was $97.40. Very happy with the results, good price on a nice hotel.
  11. Gorgeous property. We were initially brought to a room that wasn't cleaned, so to apologize for the embarasment they offered us a junior suite instead. 2 rooms with multiple plasma TVs, large balcony, huge bathroom (with its own separate balcony). Everything in the hotel is very new, exactly what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The pools were incredible, with views of downtown Miami and the water, cabanas, lounge chairs, etc. Also there was a 1 hour Kimpton wine social hour with some light snacks included. It's no where near South Beach or any beach for that matter, but if you want to stay downtown and are willing to put up with a property continuing to undergo some minor construction, this is probably one of the best deals in town.
  12. Purchased this from the HOTWIRE link here. I previously posted in the priceline forum for a South beach resort/4* for this date. Watched this 4.5* hotel drop from $409 to $145 in the downtown area, which appears to be a brand new property just opening last month. Room rates start at $400 on hotel website and the place looks wonderful. Details are below: Amenities: Boutique Hotel Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby EPIC Hotel 270 Biscayne Boulevard Way Miami, Florida 33131 (305) 424-5226 Check In Date: Tue, Jan 20, 2009 Check Out Date: Wed, Jan 21, 2009 Sub Total: $145.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $25.35 Total price: $170.35
  13. Looking for a 1 night stay 1/20-1/21 in a 4* hotel or resort in South Beach. Have been using the free re-bid zones to bid from 100-224 for a resort and from 95-140 for a 4*. All bids rejected. Bidding too early or are the going rates on Priceline this time of year beyond this range? Thanks.
  14. Accessed via savingbarn. Bid 3* $54 albany downtown - rejected Bid 3* $58 albany downtown and latham - accepted Crowne Plaza Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $58.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.74 Total Charges*: $73.74 Hotwire has a 3* with the same amenities for $119.
