  1. As it turned out, we were unable to make this trip so we did't need to follow this thread further. thank you
  2. I have checked 'my activity' and can't find NYC thread which you speak of? please advise. tnx
  3. Im looking for a room in this general area or possibly Pike Place Market Area, Queen Anne or Ballard. What do you suggest on where or how to bid to get a nice room with two beds for about $200 (+/-). for 3 nights beginning August 23, 2017 ?
  4. I 'won' the Hilton. nice place. but parking was $18 or $19 per nite extra. and they wanted $25 extra to check in before the check in time.........so I had to kill an hour or two...
  5. Parking is $19/ day. Free on street parking up the block where it looks like employees from around there park. I tried to check in around 1pm and they told me $25 early check in fee; I have never encountered that before. I asked what time is check in time and they told me 4pm. I showed her the priceline receipt which says 3pm check-in and she said , oh they must not have changed the check in time on priceline yet. I think they just charge priceline or other 'discount' reservations for early check in.....I came back a little before 3pm and checked in. All in all a very nice hotel
  6. Now to find out how they charge for parking. I bid knowing parking will be $$. But I thought this was a far better deal than the lousy travelodge which I just stayed at for the same money , except TL has free parking. Since rates are hight this week I am satisfied with the 'win' of $75. plus fees. = $93 plus parking.......
  7. I don't know if HOTWIRE or PRICELINE will work for me. I need two beds in on of the rooms and I don't know if there's a way to ensure that while bidding....
  8. This report is a couple of years old but I thought I'd post it for some to get an idea of the hotels we stayed at via priceline. 5 years ago: Hyatt Place, Medford, MA , which is at the end of the MTA orange line, plus a 10 minute bus ride. 3 years ago: InterContinental Boston waterfront Five stars, pretty pricey over $240 but well worth it. 3 years ago: Hyatt Regency Boston, downtown good downtown hotel walking distance to most Boston sites, $150 (+/-) We are planning another trip to Boston next summer and will bid waterfront or dowtown as a result of previous 'wins'. I hope this info helps anyone......
  9. HI: I'm a lurker who has bid many times on Priceline for Hotels. I am planning a trip to New York in July. I will need two rooms for four adults. When would be the best time to start bidding; 4 months? 6 months? etc. Please don't say one week out...... Any info will be greatly appreciated. thanks 5outta6 near san francisco
