I can confirm that the 4* (White House-Capitol Hill) with Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), and High-speed Internet Access is indeed Hotel George (at least it was for me today). I booked it at $109 for 7/31-8/2.

Yesterday, nothing at 3* for $300 anywhere north of Soho/Financial District. Today, first try on a 4* bid in Midtown East or South Central Park. What a difference 24 hours makes!

I have been trying over the last three days for a 3* in Copley or Downtown using the ingenious re-bid strategy. Still no luck at $120. I'm assuming rates will be higher in the summer, so that may be one reason for the failed attempts. Any chance that prices will come down as rooms become available closer to the date? I really don't want to pay more than $150. Thanks to everyone for sharing their winning bids! This site has been very helpful. (Go Blue!)
