  2. Needed a hotel near the airport because of an early flight. Amenities listed : Free Internet (in Room) Indoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center The hotel seems nice and the price is good so I'm happy.
  3. Amenities listed were: Free Internet Free parking Pet friendly Indoor pool Shuttle Non-smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap accessible Business center
  4. Amenities listed were : Restaurant Pets allowed Airport Shuttle Free internet Pool Fitness I'm arriving late and only staying for one night, the reviews of the hotel are okay and I'm happy with the price.
  5. The complete list of amenities: Accessibility: Accessible for visually impaired. Accessible for hearing impaired. Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible Bathroom Accessible parking Roll-In shower Hotel Amenities: Fitness Business Center Spa Services Casino Golf nearby Tennis nearby Free Parking Free Internet Restaurant Pool
  6. I ended up booking through HOTWIRE.3 *hotel south of The strip for $36 per night,I was pretty sure it was The Excalibur, and I was right.Reviews on tripadvisor are ok and more importantly it's in a save area. After your advice I found more negative comments online about the stratosphere area, especially at night so not a good idea. Amenities listed for The Excalibur: Free Internet/Free parking Casino Fitness Business Center Golf nearby Pool Restaurant Thanks again for all the help:)
  7. Thanks for all the advice.I wish I could spend more but I really have to stay within my budget. I'm thinking about booking the stratosphere, with the priceline express deal that would be $31.I know the stratosphere is more off the strip, but I saw there is a monorail about 10 min from the hotel.I'll let you know what I do.Thanks again.
  8. No I've never been to Vegas before. But since I'm travelling alone and I will be travelling through the states for a few weeks I'm trying to keep the costs of accomodations low. I know the Downtown-fremont st. area isn't that close to the strip, but the downtown grand has great reviews, and some of the hotels like Circus Circus,Stratosphere,Westgate etc.are more central and closer to the strip, but lots of negative reviews. So I'm confused :) I would say USD 40 is my absolute max budget ( before fees etc) I'm realistic so I know this won't get me a great hotel near the strip. Don't know if bidding would be a good idea?
  9. Hey everyone, The last few days I've been searching for a hotel in Vegas.I will be staying there from 5/16 -5/20. Found a nice deal on priceline for the downtown grand, pretty easy to ID since it is the only 3.5 * hotel in the downtown/fremont area. But I just saw a 3 * hotel East of the strip for $53.If I click on it the prices changes to $46. Amenities listed are : Business Center/Restaurant/Free internet/Indoor or outdoor pool/Casino/Fitness center. Bed choice : Room assigned at check in -Sleeps 2 adults - 2 beds requested Room assigned at check in -Sleeps 2 adults -1 bed requested. Guest score 8.0 out of 10 guest favorite. It's not clear if this hotel charges a resort fee, usually you see the total price that priceline charges and then a additional price listed as the resort fee wich will be charged by the hotel at the end of your stay. If there is no fee at all this hotel will be the same price as the downtown grand so I'm not sure what to do.The 3* hotels east of the strip don't have great reviews, except for the Hyatt,so I really don't know what I should do.Any help is welcome ;) Thanks in advance .
  10. Saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal today for 3* in the midtown west area.Only amenitie listed was :Gym.So I already figured that it would be The Ameritania, and since it has great reviews on tripadvisor I decided to take the risk :D . 62 euro's per night so that would be around $74. Thanks again for your advice.
  11. I think I will go for the express deal. The previous times I went to New york I always stayed in 1 hotel the whole trip, but then you always kind of stay in the same area,go to the same shops etc,so that's why I thought about switching hotels, not specifically for saving money. Good to know that rates probably won't drop,on a lot of other sites they always advice to take risk and book last-minute to save but I already thought for New york that wouldn't be the case. Thanks for the info and I'll let you know what I'll do.I have to go to sleep now because I have a nightshift but I think I will book tomorrow morning.
  12. Yes I think it's the Belleclaire too.So that's why I tried to bid a little lower than on the express deal, and hoped they would accept my offer, but no luck yet. I'm also wondering what's the best thing to do,book a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal or take a risk and wait a little longer and hope the rates will drop last-minute.Since I'm travelling alone I have to pay for everything myself so that's why I really want to try to have the best price possible.
  13. Sorry for not following-up the last time, complety forgot.I posted in the other thread what I ended up doing for that stay. The bidding on priceline didn't work out then but I decided to give it another try now. The express deal is listed for $69,I started bidding around $53,then to $56,then to $58.I added zones everytime,so the last bid was $58 for the upper west side/Times square area/empire area
  14. Booked through HOTWIRE,ended up in the New yorker.Good price and a very nice hotel.
  15. Forgot to mention the dates, 1/19 till 1/26. Since I want to explore different area's of New york,I don't mind switching hotels in the middle of my stay, some of the express deals are lower when I check dates from 1/19 till 1/22.
  16. Hi there, I'm in the middle of bidding but no luck so hopefully you can give me some tips for more succes. I saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for a 3.5* hotel in the upper west side, amenities listed are: -Internet -Business center -Gym/spa I'm pretty sure it is the Belleclaire hotel. On the express deal it's listed for 59,- euro per night. So I decided to start bidding, started bidding with 47,-euro,then 49 euro, then 51 euro, but no luck. But since it is listed for 59 euro on the express deal I don't think I can bid any higher because then it's almost the same price. Any advice? I was also wondering why the prices on the express deals are different,on my laptop the prices are listed much higher than on my Phone. Thanks in advance.
  17. Yes it is for the same date as in the other thread ( may 10th till may 19th) I used the BiddingHelper.com tool and the full list of amenities is this: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower
  18. Since the server on priceline is still offline I was looking around at hotwire. I found a nice offer in the madison square garden/hells kitchen area. It's a 4* hotel, these are the amenities listed: Free internet Smoke free rooms Fitness center Restaurant Business center Golf nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf The price is $178 per night. When I looked at the hotel list I would think it is the new yorker hotel It also says the last person that booked this got the wyndham new yorker.
  19. Thanks for the explanation. I checked the area's and found that only the morningside heights-harlem area doesn't have any hotels with a star rating higher than 3,5. I'm at work now but when I get home I will start bidding again.
  20. I bid $160 for the MTW area,as to be expected my bid was rejected. I read the link you posted about the re-bidding.But I still don't understand everything completly.English isn't my native language so maybe some things got lost in translation. There is only ONE re-bid zone for bidding 4*,but after my bid was declined I could add more than one zone? I didn't want to bid again since it wasn't exactly clear how it would work. I think I'm going to read some more about the whole re-bid zone thing before I'm going to bid again. I also looked at the express deals and I'll keep them in mind, there are some nice discounts on there.
  21. Thanks for you reply. The ESB area is an option but I'd rather be in my top 4 area's ( MTE,MTW,TS,MSG) $270 is my absolute max.amount I'm able to spent,so it would be nice to get something around $200-$250.
  22. Hello, Because I've never used PRICELINE or HOTWIRE before I'd like some tips for bidding.I will be staying in New york may 10th till may 19th. I've looked at a lot of hotels but in this period the prices are pretty high so I decided to try with PRICELINE. The area's that I want to bid on are: Midtown west Midtown east Times square Madison square garden Thats my top 4 area but I'm also willing to add the empire state building area. I don't really know with what amount I should start the bidding. But the maximum amount for me is around $270 per night. So how high or low should my first bid be?
