  1. Ameneties: Free Parking, Pet Friendly, High Speed Internet, Free Breakfast, Pool, Accessible bathroom, Laundry, Free Internet, Handicapped Parking
  2. Newark (Somerset/Bridgewater) area 3 1/2 stars-$52 Ameneties: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry DoubleTree Executive Somerset These ameneties are very different from what is posted for this hotel on the Hotwire List on the board. This is a great hotel-we had a great time and it was a fantastic rate!!! :D
  3. Mt. Olive/Rockaway area 3 stars $77 Ameneties: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Internet, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby This used to be the Wyndham several years ago and has changed owners...
  4. When I booked this hotel, I booked it at 2 1/2 stars...when they sent me the email to review my stay, they listed it on the review as 2 stars... So, not sure if this hotel is trending down a half star or not... If I was the one giving the stars I would give it a 2... 2 1/2 is pushing it...
  5. 2 1/2 * South Rochester: Best Western Rochester Marketplace Inn Ameneties: Airport Shuttle, Business Center, Breakfast, Laundry Facilities, Fitness Center, High Speed Internet Access $70...08/18/11-08/19/11
  6. Please note that this is a DIFFERENT Holiday Inn than the one already in the list for the area. The one currently in the list is: Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Princeton-North Brunswick and it does not have a pool. I have stayed at both through Hotwire and wanted to make that distinction...
  7. Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites E. Brunswick $53 12/31/10-01/01/11 2 1/2 * Ameneties: Smoke Free Rooms, Pool, Complimentary Breakfast, Business Center, Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities This hotel was GREAT...highly recommended!
  8. 08/02/10-08/03/10 2 1/2 * Colonial Heights-Petersburg Ameneties: Complimentary Breakfast, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Business Center, Pool, Laundry Facilities *Fort Lee Regency, A Magnuson Hotel I have never heard of this hotel or even this brand. Hope that it's halfway decent... :) I was expecting the Hampton or something like that. Let me know if anyone has seen or heard of this place...
  9. I booked through Hotwire because I had a family of 2 adults, 2 children so wanted 2 beds. Hotel: 3 stars-Piscataway-New Brunswick area-$52/night 01/01/10-01/03/10 Ameneties: Fitness Center, Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High Speed Internet Access It ended up being the Holiday Inn Express Princeton North Brunswick (4 Tower Center Boulevard) This hotel was perfect for us. It was in a great location and the rooms were very large. It also included a hot breakfast in the morning (this wasn't listed in the ameneties, but was a great bonus!) This is a new one for our list!
  10. I have stayed multiple times at the 3 star suite place and gotten either the Summerfield Suites or Staybridge Suites. They are very close to each other and both fabulous facilities with free breakfast. The Staybridge has an indoor pool, the Summerfield does not. The breakfast is ample but the quality is only fair. The Staybridge will only give you a studio room but will allow you to pay an additional fee for a 1 bedroom suite with separate living room (I think it was 10 dollars more). I would be VERY careful regarding the 2 star. I booked a 2 star in that area with the same ameneties listed, except the laundry one wasn't listed, and it was the Wellesley Inn. The place was scary to say the least. They made us park in a deserted lot and put us in a deserted building in the back, and we couldn't even secure the window to the room from the outside. We left without staying there because we did not feel safe at all, and Hotwire refunded our fee after I emailed them. For this reason, I would NEVER book a 2 star in Parsippany area again. If I were you, I would stick with the 3 star and suite place, and I'm sure you won't be disappointed...
  11. :) 3 1/2 * ,06/21/-06/22, Virginia Beach Seaside, $59 Ameneties: Beachfront, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, High Speed Internet Access, Golf nearby SHERATON OCEANFRONT HOTEL I can't even begin to tell you how ecstatic I am at this amazing deal. I actually booked this for someone else who had never used hotwire before. 59 dollars for oceanfront in the summertime at a Sherton seems like such a bargain! I hope that this hotel is as nice as it looks on the internet...
  12. Needed a hotel for tomorrow night for a quick in/out stay in Parsippany. Since I didn't have time on my side, I bid super low for a 3 * at $38 in the Parsippany-Hanover area in the hopes that I would get the Staybridge or Summerfield Suites (which I knew I could have gotten on HOTWIRE for $48 that night). I was rejected at $38, and increased my star level to 2 1/2* and bid $42 in the hopes that the suite hotel would come up, but ended up with the Holiday Inn. Not too upset-we've stayed there before, it's not a bad place, and like I said, it's a quick in/out place to sleep for us.
  13. PLEASE post it if you end up booking this room... I have been looking at this for the weekend before, same ameneties, same price, and am wondering the same thing.
  14. Whoops! Sorry I forgot to put how much it cost...It was $45 a night. I don't know how to edit my original post so am adding to the thread... It was $45 a night...
  15. 3* Parsippany-Morristown area 02/14-02/16 Ameneties: Suite, Fitness Center, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access, Kitchenette It was the Staybridge Suites Parsippany We enjoyed our stay! It also included a breakfast, but this was not listed in the ameneties...
  16. 4* Hyatt Regency New Brunswick 02/13 $65 Came up under Piscataway-New Brunswick area Amenities: Fitness Center, Business Center, Pool, High Speed Internet Access, Restaurant, Tennis Nearby
  17. 3* New Brunswick 12/29-12/30 $43...Crowne Plaza Somerset-Brunswick Amenities were: Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High Speed Internet This was a GREAT hotel for the price. Would stay there again if I was in the area...
  18. This is my first time using PRICELINE (I usually use HOTWIRE) but was desperate to find a reasonable place to spend the night after a family event and before a super early flight the next morning. I was hating Priceline after getting bid after bid rejected...I tried 80, 85, 90, 95 with three stars with no luck. I increased the area to also Happague and also 2 1/2 stars and increased the bid to 105 and got the Courtyard Long Island Macarthur Airport for $105. A good enough deal, considering the website lists their rooms at $170+ and it's a Saturday night... Any suggestions for the future?
  19. 06/07/08-06/08/08 Morristown-Parsippany Wellesley Inn (Whippany) 2 stars Ameneties: Breakfast, High Speed Internet $52
  20. Got a great deal on this hotel...It was a fabulous stay-amazing room and great location. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It was listed as: "Customer Favorite" Ameneties: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness center, Pool, Business Center, High Speed Internet :)
  21. Summerfield Suites Parsippany definately has free internet access-they lend you a cable when you check in. It was a pretty fast connection, too. I stayed there last month.
  22. I booked a 4* in Morristown-Parsippany area with the following ameneties: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Spa Services. I booked this the afternoon of 07/28 for the evening of 07/29. The price was $75 for the night and it was the Hyatt Morristown.
  23. Update: I decided to email hotwire regarding the lack of a pool at their facility (despite listing it as an amenity). I forgot to mention the lack of a fitness facility. I heard back within four hours of my original email stating that they called the hotel and confirmed that they do not have a pool and are sorry for the inconvenience. And then they credited my account with the price of half of my trip!!! I was stunned!!! Way to go hotwire-that is amazing customer service!!! They will be taking the pool amenity off of their listing. I don't know if when they talked to the hotel they inquired about a lack of fitness center, so I'm not sure if they will take that one off or not, but the listing will change as a result of my email. Just wanted to let everyone know...
  24. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn at the Harbor this past weekend (June 3-5). We had gotten this on Hotwire for $166 a night. This resort was in a PERFECT location in Newport-right off of a main street full of shops and right on the harbor. It was in walking distance to all of the wharfs and main shopping and eating district. There were about 50-60 condos in the building and a very nice bar on the bottom level that often had a live musician performing and had seating out on the deck overlooking the harbor. Parking was sufficient-a little tight in the basement parking garage, but they also let you park outside near the lobby if you were willing to either 1) move your car when needed or 2) park in a back space and leave your car there during your stay. The room was a condo and when you entered the room you walked directly into the bedroom and then into the hallway that had a bathroom and kitchen and then directly straight into the living room. Window was in the living room only but had a direct harbor view. The room had dishes, a microwave, full sized refridgerator, and stovetop. There was a pull out sofabed in the living room. The bathroom had a separate vanity room and the shower (although very dark due to no windows) was fabulous! The front desk people were wonderful and extremely helpful throughout our stay. There was a small bag provided by the resort in our room that held samples of mints, body wash, shampoos, coupons, etc., which I thought was a nice touch. There were a few problems, however, with our stay. First of all, hotwire had promised a pool and fitness center on the property as party of our booking ameneties and this resort had neither. I believe that they were offering passes to the YMCA for those who wanted it, but we didn't take them up on that. Still, the false advertising where that was concerned was disappointing. The other thing that bothered us was that the resort was located next to a very large nightclub with an outdoor stage and nightly live band performances with very loud amplifiers. The first night that we were there there was a drunken karaoke contest going on at full volume. The noise went right through our closed windows, through the living room, and all the way into the closed doors of the bedroom and didn't stop until midnight. We inquired about this with the front desk and they stated that the bar is closing and that it has gotten a lot worse during their "final" weeks. I realize that this is not the resort's fault so there was nothing that could really be done about it. It was just an unfortunate location where that was concerned. It's a good thing we are young-my 80-something year old grandmother would have been miserable! All in all, we would definately recommend this resort for people looking for a fabulous location and extremely friendly staff. However, for those who are looking for something more quiet and low-key, or something more family friendly with a pool and other activities, this is probably not the place for you. For us, it suited our purposes perfectly. :)
  25. I understand where you're coming from and sorry for the previous post-I hadn't seen those two slight differences but it makes sense. I posted my previous win on the board and am indeed staying there in June but because it is such a small resort and for internet privacy issues, I prefer not to list the actual dates in June that I will be there at this time. I will post a review when I return. Thanks.
