  1. I'm looking for a room from 3/20 to 3/22. Hotwire shows $97. The amenities are: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible It could be the Springhill Suites or Residence Inn. The site states that it's still gathering reviews for this property. Wouldn't Springhill or Residence have plenty of reviews?
  2. Bid $45, $50, $55 two days ago. Bid $57 today and was successful. $138.66 with taxes for two nights. Used the PRICELINE link through BetterBidding.
  3. Yes, there was a fitness amenity there. I guess I didn't notice it originally.
  4. Sheraton Suites, Tampa Westshore 3/23/12 - 3/24/12 $55, $68.05 with taxes and fees Amenities: Shuttle High Speed Internet Restaurant Pool Smoke Free Suite Used the HOTWIRE link Needed a room for three, used the hotel listings in this forum to match the amenities. Worked great, thanks!

  8. I needed three beds, so the Hyatt Place was what I wanted. $54/night for one night. Used the HOTWIRE link. The icons were: Smoke Free Rooms , Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access Thanks for helping!
  9. One odd note about this property. Although I don't know this for sure, the amenities seem to change depending on the time of the week you're looking at. If a weekend is involved, it shows a golf icon. If it is during the week, it shows a business center icon instead. Do other properties do this?
  10. Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek. Just what I was hoping to get. Surprised it wasn't listed as a "best value" for this price. Amenities Listed: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Laundry Facilities High Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby $68/night $387.19 with taxes for five nights Used HOTWIRE link. Thanks for the great info at this site.
  11. A 4* hotel is coming up for $77 from 3/26 to 3/31 in Boca Raton. My guess is that it's the Marriott Renaissance Boca Raton (it's listed as a 4* on Priceline). The icons are: smoke-free, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center and high-speed internet access. Also listed as customer favorite. Any ideas?
  12. Got this for one night, 3/25. Shows up as Customer Favorite Icons: Suite Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool Restaurant Laundry Internet Used HOTWIRE link. I've stayed here before when it was the Radisson Suites and was happy to get it again. Cheapest rate on the Hilton website was $215.
  13. I am getting a $55 rate for 3/26-27 for a 2* in Melbourne. The icons are: Complimentary Breakfast Pool Business Center Laundry Facilities High-Speed Internet Access I don't think it's a Days Inn because they don't have a business center. The Quality Inn has no laundry and there aren't any Comfort Inns in that area. I'm hoping it's the La Quinta because that one is highly rated, but it may also be the Holiday Inn Express. Any thoughts?
  14. No, I have not stayed there, but I am considering it for our stay of March 17-21. I have seen a few bad reviews, but they are so bad it seems like someone has a grudge against them. I would have no problem trying it if the price is right.
  15. A four-star "best value" hotel comes up in North Fort Lauderdale for $83 a night on Hotwire. According to the Hotwire hotel list, this is the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek, which is an all-suites hotel like the Embassy Suites (except no free breakfast). It's right off of 95, not far from the airport, with many restaurants nearby.
  16. I called the hotel and they said they only have suites. Since the icons are listed in the Florida Hotwire Hotel List, apparently someone has confirmed the icons. Maybe I'll give it a shot.
  17. I am going to Fort Lauderdale in March with two other friends and we need a suite so we can have three beds. Hotwire comes up with a 4* in North Fort Lauderdale at a "Best Value" price of $77 a night for 3/17 to 3/21. Matching the icons, this hotel should be the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek. By the name, it seems like an all-suites hotel, but the "S" suites icon isn't listed on Hotwire. And on the hotel website, it says, "suites available." I'm going to call the hotel, but does anyone know why Hotwire does not list this as a "suites" hotel?
  18. I really enjoyed this hotel. It is an attractive, clean property, conveniently located right next to the Florida Turnpike in Boca Raton. The rooms are true suites with a sofabed, two TV's, and a bedroom with a door to close for privacy. A full, cook-to-order, hot breakfast is included every morning, and there is a two-hour manager's reception with free drinks every night from 5:30 to 7:30. There's a nice restaurant right next door and plenty of other restaurants and shopping close by. The atrium of the hotel is open, there are no windows on the sides, so when you come out of your room you are essentially outside with a roof over your head. The lobby is covered by a glass ceiling, so you can see through the glass to the first floor when you look down. The staff was pleasant and helpful and I would have no qualms about staying here again.
  19. I called all three properties (and a few others, just to be sure) over the weekend and determined that the $82 hotel was probably the Radisson because it did not fit Hotwire's kitchenette criteria (it had a microwave, but no refrigerator). The $136 hotel was probably the Embassy Suites because it did fit the kitchenette criteria (both a microwave and refrigerator). As BurBunny mentioned, the Doubletree does not have a fitness center, so that knocked them out of the running. All three had self-service laundries, restaurants, pools, and complimentary breakfast. So I took the plunge and the hotel that came up was.......the Radisson Suite Hotel! The icons were (in order): Suite, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Breakfast, Laundry. Although there is no guarantee, I am pretty confident that the other hotel was the Embassy Suites. The icons for that hotel were: Suite, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Breakfast, Kitchenette. Thanks for all your help. After looking at their websites and reading some reviews, I was hoping to get the Radisson, although I'm sure I would have been happy with the Embassy Suites as well. Now I have to give them a call and see if I can get two beds, no smoking. I will write the hotel review when I return. Thanks again!
  20. Thanks, I will call all three hotels and report back soon.
  21. Wow, thanks for the quick replies. Both give great advice; I'm going to do some research this weekend and probably book something early next week. I'm inclined to go with the $82 Boca hotel--as thereuare said, I'm not specifically looking for an Embassy Suites, but a nice suites hotel that can accomodate three people. That said, I'm trying to avoid the Doubletree because of some reviews I've read about that location. So if I can be relatively assured that the 3.5* is not the Doubletree, I'll give it a shot. One more thing, we would definitely like two beds in the room along with the sofabed. As much as I like these guys, I really don't want to snuggle up with one of them in a queen-size bed for four days. Do you think my chances are good to get two beds either at the time of reservation or by calling later?
  22. Three of us (all guys) are going to watch some spring training games in late March. We want to check in 3/21 and check out 3/25, and would like to stay somewhere between Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. We are flying in and out of Ft. Lauderdale, but three out of four games are north of Lauderdale. Right now we are booked at the Comfort Suites in Deerfield Beach, but by using your helpful information on the board, I see I can book the Embassy Suites in downtown Ft. Lauderdale through Hotwire for the same price as the Comfort Suites ($89). I could probably get the Embassy Suites cheaper through Priceline, but I need to be guaranteed we will get a suite, so I don't mind paying the higher price through Hotwire. My question is, a 3.5 star hotel comes up in Boca for $82, any chance that is also an Embassy Suites (there is one in Boca)? That would be a better location for us. The icons are not exactly the same as the Embassy Suites in Ft. Lauderdale; for instance, the one in Boca shows a laundry icon. Any help would be appreciated.
