  1. #27 on trip advisor.... I'm not too worried. Bed comfort and location are the most important to me and sounded like no one had any complaints there. Service is probably the lowest priority on my list. Things like a blower dryer, which are super important to me, I bring with. Jetsetter was for a Luxury King Room which sounds really nice and a big advantage over bidding since I also REALLY wanted a king bed. The extra 10% was for any New York hotel on Jetsetter.

  2. I was looking up info for someone else's post and I noticed a new 5* in Denver. Two new 5* hotels were built in the last few years. (Ritz and Four Seasons) Both allow pets and have 4.5 rating on Trip Advisor. The results page said "only 3 rooms left", Four Seasons had the same note on Priceline, so I'll guess Four Seasons. Here's the info from Hotwire

  3. I've stayed here on a hotwire and non-hotwire rates before. The one time I was not upgraded was on a non-Hotwire rate during a busy weekend. The queen petite room is still very nice and has a full size bathroom with soaking tub. It depends on how busy the hotel is. They upgraded me to a king room before for free and a corner suite for $50. If there are lots of rooms available on the website you should be fine, but there is no way to know for sure.

  4. We had a wonderful trip. I asked nicely and they upgraded us for free to an ocean view. Very relaxing environment and everyone was very friendly. Also they let us check in a few hours early which was very helpful. We had lots of family visiting and the room was perfect with lots of additional seating. Never felt like I was getting the HOTWIRE treatment.

  5. Just stayed at PH and wow, for sure the nicest place I have ever stayed. We loved being so close to Crystal Cove, which is full of adventures.

The Pelican Hill does have free internet at the property so it could show up on the amenities. I think if you read the reviews there are good clues to which resort it is.

    Pelican Hotwire Reviews

" amazing gelato" (daily onsite made gelato)

" call for ice and pay for coffee" ($10 for coffee in room, no ice machine)

" don't nickel and dime you on internet, parking " (free valet parking)

"upgraded to a 2100 square foot villa" (also look for bungalow comments)

It's also a secure property with a guard gate to the "rooms" which are setup like small town homes, so you park right outside your room. All the rooms have private balconies and are at least 850 sqft.

  6. Very excited about this win! Hotel website had rooms starting at $435. The best part is that you don't get stuck with a bunch of other fees like most hotels in this area. Free parking, free internet and no resort fee. Also the standard rooms (bungalows) look amazing! Used HOTWIRE link, thank you!

There was another 5* for $235 in the Laguna Beach area with the same amenities below but a roll in shower in place of handicap parking and 4.5 trip advisor (no hotwire reviews). Little curious what that one was.

  7. the king and the double queen rooms both have pull out sofa's, they are in the sunken living rooms

We called the Venetian and they say it is $30 for an upgrade to bella suite each night. 3 rooms and 3 nights make it $270. So we are thinking if it is actually worth it. We want to be 4 guys in a room. Can you give me any details on the full-size pullout sofa?
  8. 10/15/2011 to 10/17/2011 2 rooms

    Saturday to Monday

    bid 110 -rejected

    added boulder strip 115 -rejected

I've been waiting for Wynn's 72 hour sale to be over. I'd really like to stay in the Palazzo, Venetian would also be fine. I just don't want to end up in a smoking room at the Wynn :S.

I know it's not guaranteed, but the Palazzo and Venetian are 239/night, $10 less than the Wynn. Yesterday Wynn was $239/night. Maybe I'll wait till tomorrow, just to be sure the Wynn prices are out of the system. The Trump tower is on Hotwire, which is not an option.

I used the PRICELINE link. I'll keep you posted. I have two rooms reserved at the Palazzo now, but I'd sure love to get them at half price!

    Thanks

  9. So before I wouldn't bid for Vegas cause there was always a hotel in the zone I did not want to stay at. I think I'm going to go for

    Las Vegas (Strip North)

    5* Palazzo REVIEW

    5* Venetian REVIEW

    5* Wynn REVIEW

Question, Does anyone know when block rooms get released? Usually I think it's about 30-day, just hoping to bid when there is high supply. :)

  10. Things I would like:

Sometimes people will write what the customer rating is for a Hotwire hotel. I usually dig through and try to find this information to distinguish hotels. If I know the area well enough the rating details of location or value can give me a clue to which hotel it is. Are you planning to track/organize this information like you do with amenities? Also if on the hotel list it would be great to have a date alongside the information so you could tell when it was last updated or for Priceline the last time the hotel was won. This is also information I just search around for before bidding. Thanks! Great site

  11. For double billing with any purchases I always contact my bank and never the retailer. The first time I was double billed by someone I called them and they told me to call my bank.

I book a trip with Priceline and was double billed. Two months latter , they still have not done anything about this. Talk with everyone I could and still nothing. DO NOT USE PRICELINE
  12. It was the Warwick, I figure it had to be with 4/5 for location, the Westin has a really central location. I'm very happy with my strategic move, I wanted this location for a concert. Hopefully this will help someone distinguish in the future. Thanks for your help, I used the HOTWIRE link

    Warwick Hotel Denver

    $89

    Other travel sites: $209.00

    Smoke Free Rooms

    Fitness Center

    Pool(s)

    Restaurant(s)

    Business Center

    High-speed Internet Access

Reviews: 4.5/5 for everything except location 4.0/5

    Trip Advisor: 4/5

  13. I'm aiming for the Warwick, it's 4* downtown denver and it matches the list for Warwick & Westin

Amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business

I think it may be the Warwick though becuase the location rating is at 4/5 (everything else is 4.5/5). The Westin is right on 16th street mall so I figure it can't be that one. Thoughts?

    Will use HOTWIRE link

    Thanks
