  1. I booked through the link on this site and used your PRICELINE EXPRESS coupon. Great deal during an expensive week for Toronto hotels! Amenities: Fitness center Restaurant No smoking Free internet Pool Room choices were: “Room assigned at check-in — sleeps two adults” for $95 or “Guest room” for $138. Thanks!
  2. This is a fabulous hotel, and I'm stunned that I was able to get this rate. The lowest rate on the hotel's own website for this night is $274. I used your site to access HOTWIRE, and I used your Hotwire Coupon, too. So my final price, with taxes and fees, was $105. Thanks! Amenities: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  3. This is a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals win. The amenities are: Pets Allowed; Business Center; Indoor or Outdoor Pool; Fitness Center; No Smoking Rooms/Facilities. I used your coupon and accessed PRICELINE through the link on this site. Thank you! I had wanted this hotel and am very pleased with the rate. PRICELINE was offering a nonrefundable rate of $130 for this same hotel. I found this odd: That rate came with much higher taxes and fees of around $250! My taxes and fees were $147.
  4. I had been trying for days to get a decent rate on a hotel in North Fort Lauderdale for this night, watching Hotwire and Priceline Express Deals and bidding with Priceline. But I was alarmed to see the rates for this holiday weekend night go higher and higher and see my options steadily dwindle. So, the night before I needed the room, I decided to start looking in Boca, too -- 20 miles away. This seemed like a comparatively good rate on a great hotel ("95% recommended! Amazing!" Hotwire said), so I grabbed it. The amenities were: Free breakfast Free internet Free parking Business center Fitness center Near beach Pool(s) Smoke-free rooms Suite The lowest advertised rate for this night on the hotel's website is $199. I accessed Hotwire via your website, so thank you! This morning, Priceline Express Deals has a 3.5* hotel available in North Fort Lauderdale for $150. Argh! So, I just learned an important lesson: not to panic, not even at the last minute during a holiday weekend.
  5. Thanks so much for the intel! I have made a cancelable booking directly with the hotel, because at the moment Hotwire would save me no more than $10 a night, once the fees are factored in -- and I'd be tempted to buy Hotwire's travel insurance, which would bring everything even. But I'll keep watching this rate on the chance that it might get better.
  6. Hello -- I love your site and use it all the time. The 4.5 hotel I'm looking at has a rate of $158 for Jan. 30-Feb. 3. These are the amenities: Complimentary free internet Boutique hotel Business center Fitness center Indoor pool(s) [The big selling point for me!] Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Self-service laundry Smoke-free rooms The hotel also offers bed choice. The mobile version of Hotwire show the first part of a review that says, "Right at the central train station, many busses and trains and restaurants and services conve..." From all the evidence, it sounds to me like the Radisson Blu Royal Viking Hotel, though that would hardly be called a boutique. What do you think? Thank you!
  7. First, I tried bidding to land the 4* Mayfair, because both Priceline Express Deals and Hotwire had a hotel matching its description for $120 a night. Using free rebids and adding the Coral Gables zone, I bid up to $110 but did not have success. Next, I tried for the 3.5* Aloft Miami Dadeland, because it wasn't too far away and because of its free parking -- a big selling point! It had a lowest advertised rate for these nights of $135. I bid $95, added the Coral Gables zone and went to $100, but I got nothing. And here's where I made my mistake: I added Coconut Grove and bid $103, landing the Courtyard by Marriott. It's a great hotel, but it was advertising a AAA rate of just $104 for one of my two nights. I should have bid $95 or lower before adding Coconut Grove, because I saved only about $25 by using Priceline. The hotel also charges a steep $29 a night for parking. But we loved the location and had a view of Biscayne Bay, even if the room was rather small. Amenities: Free Internet (in Room) Outdoor Pool Spa Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center As I always do, I accessed PRICELINE via this site. Thank you!
  8. Amenities are: Free parking Free breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness center Pool(s) Self-service laundry Internet access Accessible bathroom Accessible parking I was expecting the Comfort Suites UCF, where we've stayed on a previous HOTWIRE reservation and which has a more convenient location for us. But we'll make the most of this. Our final price, including tax, is $92.95. This lowest before tax rate for this night on the hotel's own website is $90.25.
  9. I saw this hotel in PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals for $75 and thought that I might save a few more dollars by bidding. And I did! The total, with taxes and fees, was just $82.01. PRICELINE warned me twice that my low bid had little chance of succeeding, but I ignored all of that. I am no longer able to see the deal in Priceline Express Deals, but these are the hotel's amenities when I view my win under "My Trips" on PRICELINE's website: Free Internet (in Public Areas) Free Parking Pet Friendly Pool Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center I used this site to access PRICELINE. Thank you!
  10. This is a great deal, and I pounced because I was able to choose a king bed. The lowest rate for these nights that I saw on any other website was $152 -- for a room with 2 double beds. Amenities are: resort casino pool(s) business center Internet access spa beachfront hotel fitness center restaurant(s) laundry tennis accessible visually impaired accessible path of travel roll-in shower accessible bathroom accessible hearing impaired in-room accessibility accessible parking I accessed HOTWIRE through the link on this site. Thank you!
  11. Amenities were: Free parking Pet friendly Pool Non-smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap accessible Business center We love this hotel and have stayed here previously. The lowest rate on the hotel's website for this night is a nonrefundable $105. I tried to name my price, bidding from $65 to $71 without success. I decided to take the Express deal, since it offered the choice of a king bed, which we prefer. I used the PRICELINE link on this website to make my purchase. Thanks!
  12. I landed this through PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals. Seemed like a great rate. The amenities were: Business centerRestaurantFree InternetIndoor or outdoor poolFitness centerThe lowest rate on the hotel's own website for this night is $151. Seeing the pool, I assumed that this was the Hyatt Regency, or maybe the Hilton. The Renaissance does indeed have a pool, but it's a rooftop outdoor pool that's already closed for the season. I think it would be more helpful if Priceline included pools in its listings only for stays when the pool is actually in service! I access Price.line through this site. Thanks!
  13. I had been watching Hot.wire and PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal rates for weeks and was finding fairly high prices for this weekend, focusing on the White House, Dupont Circle and Capitol Hill zones. Earlier today, the best 4* rate in this particular zone was $164. So, when I searched again and the $118 price popped up, I grabbed it immediately. The lowest available rate on Hyatt's website for these nights is $219. The amenities are: Free InternetIndoor pool(s)Fitness centerPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business centerInternet accessAccessibility for visually impairedAccessible for hearing impairedAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomAccessible parkingRoll-in showerHotwire had given me $50 in "Hot Dollars" because of a problem with a previous booking, so my two-night total with taxes and fees is a very sweet $248.89! I accessed Hot.wire through the link on this site.
  14. Hot.wire's lowest rate for a compact was $26.95, at a total of $77.59. My total via Priceline is $65.51. I accessed Price.line through this site to begin my bidding.
  15. Well, it has been nearly a month since I first contacted Priceline about this issue, and I am still waiting for my 20% refund. This is very surprising from a company that typically seems rather efficient. I have received two follow-up emails claiming they are still "researching" my partial refund "request" -- which wasn't really a request on my part, but rather a customer service representative's offer, which I accepted. My fear is they'll drag the matter out until this trip has been completed, but I don't plan to let it go.
  16. At the time of booking, I saw these amenities: Free Internet (A big selling point with me!)Restaurant(s)Smoke-free roomsFitness centerBusiness centerSelf-service laundryThe information on the hotel in the "My trips" section at Hot.wire also shows: Internet access I thought this was a great rate for a four-night stay in Manhattan in June, and the location is ideal. I had tried bidding with Price.line over the course of several days, focusing on the Midtown West and Times Square zones and going up to $165, but I had no success. I stayed away from Midtown East for fear of landing One UN New York (I think I saw it offered via pl eXPRESS Deals). I had wanted to add Price.line's Central Park South zone, but it came with an extra $100 hotel fee. I'll have to look around on your site to see if there's any discussion of those extra hotel fees. If Price.line adds one to your estimated price, will you always be charged the additional amount if your bid is accepted? Thanks as always for the fantastic information on this site! I am very pleased with my Hot.wire hotel!
  17. Great advice -- thank you! I did contact Priceline via chat and was offered the choice of a 20% refund or the cancellation of my reservation. Because the hotel is in a good location, the TripAdvisor reviews are OK and I'm not terribly fussy, I opted for the partial refund. I guess that effectively makes my winning rate $60!
  18. WOW -- how did THAT happen??? I bid for a 3* hotel, and my confirmation from Priceline shows the hotel as a 3* property. But you're correct -- the rating has now been changed to 2.5*! Do you know if I have grounds for a complaint or some type of remediation? I will contact Priceline about this. I bid for a 3* hotel and I expect to be staying in a 3* hotel when I make this trip next month. It seems to me that they ought to allow me to bid again.
  19. Note that the correct zone is called Westport-Fairfield, not Lower Fairfield County/Norwalk-Westport. Norwalk is a separate zone now. I wasn't able to change it above. First, I checked the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals and noticed a 3* available for these nights with amenities including free parking, free breakfast and free in-room Internet for $91. I also saw a 4* with far fewer amenities for considerably more. Sorry, I didn't make a note of the price for that, but it may have been $134. I started by bidding $75 for a 4*. I noticed that, in addition to PRICELINE's taxes and fees, I would be charged an extra $15 per night by the hotel. This was described as a "resort fee." In Connecticut?! Probably an energy surcharge -- and not very enticing. My $75 bid was rejected. I added the Stamford zone as a free rebid and raised my bid to $80 for a 4*, but that also was rejected. Because I wanted a hotel in the Fairfield area, where I'm traveling for my nephew's high school graduation, I went back to the Priceline home page and started over, aiming for a 3.5* hotel, bidding $75 and only in the Westport-Fairfield zone. This time, the annoying $15 "resort fee" was not included in my expected final price. But my bid was rejected. I added the 3* category, stayed with $75 -- and I won! My total with taxes and fees was $182.30, about $40 less than if I had taken the $91 PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. The lowest rate for these night's on the hotel's own website is a AAA rate of $121.49 per night. The hotel looks a little dowdy. But it does promise free breakfast, free in-room Internet and free parking. I began my bidding through the PRICELINE widget on this site.
  20. So, when I got to the hotel, the front desk tried to charge me $10 for parking. I protested -- said that I booked through a site that advertised the hotel as having free parking -- and the front desk clerk said he would waive the fee. I am keeping a close eye on my credit card account. So far, the hotel's $25 "hold" is still there.
  21. Ah, yes -- none of these was on the listing: Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  22. Amenities are: Free parkingFree InternetFitness centerPool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundryBusiness centerAccessibility for visually impaired The best rate for the night on the hotel's own website is $179. I would have bid with Priceline to see if I might have done even better, but the free parking for this hotel won me over. The last time I booked a hotel with Priceline here in South Florida, we were charged $35 for overnight parking!
  23. I got this by bidding and think it's a great rate. The lowest price on the hotel's website for this night is $167. Hot.wire had a 4* beach resort available for $89, and PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals had one for $87. So, I started my bidding at $69 and immediately got a $17 counteroffer, to bid $86. Instead, I added the downtown zone and tried for $71. Then, I used one free rebid at $73 and another that gave me the win at $75. With taxes and fees, my total is $91.59. The only thing that scares me is that parking at these hotels can be very expensive. I accessed Price.line via the link on your website.
  24. The amenities are: Free parkingFree breakfastFree InternetFitness centerPool(s)Internet accessHot.wire also said it was 85% recommended. I took advantage of a Hotwire 24-hour $20 discount, so my total with taxes and fees was just $89.93. The hotel has a nonrefundable, prepayment rate for this night of $89.25, so Hotwire's regular rate doesn't provide any savings. However, the total with tax at that rate would be $100.41, so the temporary Hotwire discount gave me a little bit of a break. Using PRICELINE, I had unsuccessfully bid up to $70 for a 2.5-star hotel in this zone, so I think I did better with HOTWIRE. I accessed HOTWIRE using the link on this site.
  25. Apologies.
