  1. Renaissance Boca Raton 4*, Boca Raton-Deerfield West zone, november 6-8 for $55/night. I began with B.R.-Deerfield West, 4* bidding $45. It came back saying I could raise my bid $13 and get a free bid. Instead I added one of the other Boca zones, none besided deerfield west has 4* hotels, and I upped bid to $50. rejected. I then added the third zone and raised my bid to $55 and won. I'm glad to find out what hotel is the 4*, I've asked about it before on this board for previous trips to that area. This trip came up quickly, maybe I overpaid, but I needed to get the hotel set up fairly quickly, and all in all I think this is another great deal through priceline, with the help of this Board's advice! :)
  2. I bid and rebid using the rebid strategies gleaned from this board, so thank you, thank you very much! won embassy suites - mia for $48 per night, 12/3/04 to 12/5/04. I began at $40 for 4* hotel, went to 42 for 3* then used southwest miami as an added rebid zone at 45 for 3* hotel, then added north miami and went to what i felt was as high as i'd go for now, $48 for 3*. It worked perfectly and I'm very satisfied to get the embassy suites. Now, anyone know what car rental company is at this locatioN???? thanks again to this board!
  3. If you look at my posting, it said "I booked this for my spouse and her friend, who checked in there yesterday." and the posting was on 1/12. So, if i remember correctly, they checked in on Jan 11th and left Jan 13th. They said the room was really nice and enjoyed the stay, and felt it was a good deal!
  4. City Area: Universal Orlando and Sea World Area Hotel Quality: 4-star Upscale Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa Price per night: $59.00 Subtotal: $118.00 Total Taxes and Booking Fees: $19.95 Total: $137.95 I booked this for my spouse and her friend, who checked in there yesterday. They said the room was very nice, the restaurant nothing really for them, but it was fine. Room had a jacuzzi, king bed and queen sofa bed. They weren't cajoled into any sort of time share talk or pressure. After i had booked it and saw it was also a timeshare, i had some of the misgivings of the above posters too, but they said it is very nice and no difficulties. By the way, apparently the room is some sort of junior suite, and is only available with king/queen sofa bed, can't get two beds. This was a last minute booking, and only hotwire showed something as highly rated as four stars, only 3 stars shown on priceline.
  5. I just did more or less the opposite, booking a one way from Miami, but downtown, near port area, with drop in FLL. Hotwire has a "one way" hot link to budget car rental which gave me a very competitive rate of $92.70 for three days, compact car, while the same "one way" on PL was about $5 more. The booking is actually thru budget's site with a discount code from Hotwire, and is cancellable with no penalty until about a day before the trip. So, I guess I can keep looking around a bit, but I felt this was a good deal for dec 15-18. :)
  6. I've only told 8,276, so far! I charge each a dime a piece! I need the money since my daughter is a freshman (fresh person?) at U. of Mich. and I just sent in a check as an out of stater! Oh my! I better hurry and get more dimes fast! Is it appropriate to post car rental info on this site too somewhere? I just got a pretty good deal on hotwire for a one way rental, miami at that very same sheraton biscayne bay with drop at FLL for post cruise dec 15-18 for $92.70, about $5 cheaper than doing it on priceline, both with budget car rental. :)
  7. Thanks to this site, I summoned up the nerve to bid and got the 3* Sheraton Biscayne Bay in Miami, downtown zone for $35, my first bid. With taxes and fees, total was $45.81, for December 4-5,2003, precruise. The best I had found for this hotel was nonrefundable $99 plus tax on the Sheraton site. I am truly amazed and my thanks to this site for the great deal i was able to get!
  8. I'm a happy newby, having booked Sheraton in Miami for $35 on my first foray into PL, for a pre cruise one night stay. I am now looking to book 3 nights post cruise in or around boca raton. I saw PL lists availability of 4* in this region but can't find anything on this site identifying what hotel(s) that might be. Any insights appreciated. :)
